    Hey so on the 411 cultfollowing: I own the 411 and have ridden the 450 with the intention of buying it but decided against it and surprisingly a lot of 411 owners also did! Now firstly the 450 is objectively a much better and more capable bike, 0 doubts about it! The breaks are much better, the suspension and geometry i would go as far as saying that is class leading, fuel economy is great and tubeless spoked wheels are always nice!
    That said, surprisingly while the 450 at 130 Km/h on the highway still has plenty of power for an overtake, it's not as nice to be ridden as the 411 at 120, it seems paradoxical but it's less vibey, you sit more in the bike than on top of it and the wind protection is much better, then while heavier the 411 center of gravity sits lower so it "feels" less cumbersome at low speeds and finally I just like the tractor-like nature of that engine, both on and off-road, there's just something about chugging along that brings a smile to my face, this plus the style gives me a nostalgic feel of the old Panda 4x4 i used to be in with my grandpa in the weekends!
    So in the end i like this similarity, the Himalayan 450 behaves and handles like a horse, while the 411 like a mule/donkey!

      @SubharthiGhosal 25 дней назад +1

      I have heard of a similar sentiment from one Indian reviewer. If you're planning to cruise at 100-110 the 411 seems to be a better fit. And now the new one has a 6th gear so that should help too.

    There's something about that Guerrilla 450 that I just really don't like the look of. But I do love the look of that Bear 650! And surprisingly it's the off-white and mint-green version that I'd be wanting! Still currently have the Honda GB350s at the top of my list, though!

    • @Kincoran
      @Kincoran Месяц назад

      @rafaeltavares6928 no, I don't think that's it at all. I can pick out some things that I clearly don't like, such as the not-quite right-looking fuel tank and seat shapes - like Motobob said, adding to an attempt at a kind of flat track look - it just looks off to me. I don't like the colour scheme options either. And the frequently questionable (but generally still acceptable) looking RE exhaust pipe just looks worse than nornal here, for some reason. But I think there's something in addition to/beyond all of that, too. All IMHO, of course.

    My taste / needs are all over the place. I could currently see myself go for the Himalayan 450 (because it is light, tough, good on and off road, has great fuel economy for touring), the Shotgun 650 (because it looks fantastic, plus it apparently handles surprisingly well) and the Bear 650 (because I will always have a weak spot for Scramblers and I love the versatility). Their RRP is great, but the servicing intervals are surprisingly low. My 411 Himalayan, which I’ve had since 2018, requires a valve check every 3k miles, so some years that’s been 2 trips to the garage. Looking at a Honda for the next bike… less pretty, but 8k miles servicing will positively impact the running costs.

    • @morri03
      @morri03 Месяц назад +1

      Yes but that’s the old tech stuff. The modern engines are 6k valve checks and it’s an easy job you can do yourself

      @ no they weren’t. Always 10,000km / 6,000 miles after the 500km break in inspection. Some people got the wrong idea from watching the missenden flyer who mistakenly said it was more frequent that than.

    • @josevi5835
      @josevi5835 Месяц назад +1

      Having to check the valve adjustment every 5.000 is a real disadvantage. If you do it by yourself you have to remove the tank and other parts apart of needing specific tools and a garage. If you do it in the concession, prepare 200/400€ only for labor. That outrageous servicing dissuaded me of buying this awesome machine.

    I wonder a Benda motorbike has the same quality like a RE bike or worst/better. I hope you will test those, because these Indian and Chinese motorbikes are the future in many countries. There are too many expensive premium brands, like HD, Indian, Triumph, and the Japanese brands dont sell cruisers is Europe anymore. This is why more and more people who still interested in buying a motorbike has not much choice, very few affordable(ish) brand left. It looks like the Europe industry is in worst state than the autoindustry which is a bad joke.

    I actually feel like Royal Enfield has a cult following like how Honda and the other japanese brands had in the 90's and early 2000's, giving them the freedom to launch loads of bikes in every displacement they can, and they'll definitely make a profit.

    I'm old enough to remember original not retro 'scramblers' which with the exception of a couple of trials specific conversion (Rickman Matisse etc) didn't - and I can't say this enough - come from the factory any more off road capable than many of the retro machines. It's why the true off readers ex Yamaha and Suzuki in particular did so well. The average scrambler was the result of long hours in somebody's shed. Yet we continue to 5alk as if a 'real scrambler' (and capability) came from the dealers. Nonsense. And kudos to the men and women who built them up. If these machines tick boxes as durable, tractable roadsters - they're scrambler as anything. Want more? Build it. Or buy a dirt bike, but that's a very different machine. All opinion of course from 45 years of riding
