I just discovered you and ended up binge-watching your videos on a rainy Massachusetts day! Your instruction and explanations are really informative and so understandable as you work your way through a painting. At 72, having discovered pastel painting at 69, IN LOVE, your knowledge and techniques can, for sure, inform my pastel painting! Thank you! (I thought I posted this comment already but don't see it so I decided to resend. :) )
I like the 'tile effect' of the foreground rock mass. Somehow, the deeper and more vertical shadow tone boundaries get covered by the high key top plane, and also by the slightly higher key vertical plane dark tone. The result being a sort of outlining effect...like dark grout around tiles. The decorative effect makes the foreground mass have additional visual interest.
Nothing is wrong with this painting, sir! For sure. Absolutely fantastic, in fact! I like very much how you've captured the energy there. It feels so dynamic, like it's moving, great movement. Great effect. Also, colors are perfect and accurately reflect the weather. Btw. The ocean is just amazing!!! I love it!!! I also like a cool vibe of the overcast. Greetings from the EU!
@@chamberlainpaintings Cheers! Have a wonderful day! I'm gonna watch your new video, today, finally and I'm looking forward to it. I was cut off of the Internet the whole weekend! They had some issues! And now, I have over 300 new notifications! lol
0:46 viewing scene of composition before your outstretched hand ( I skipped back from ) “” Look for everyone , the narrow passageway of water, between the closer rocks “” on the left see two “” white hearts of nature “” , Michael, I got a fantastic feeling of your composition today 💭💭💭😝
Love it!!!! You make it look so easy. I want to get to where I paint that fluidly without stopping and getting hung up in the details. I want my brush to just dance and my choices to flow quickly, like second nature!!
Nothing went wrong in the end...it's a beautiful painting and and excellent composition. Getting confused with that overcast weather is obvious...I wouldn't even unpack LOL.
@@chamberlainpaintings sorry to hear that, climate change is definitely a thing. We've had months and months of heat and perpetual sunshine, which brought us droughts. It's all fked up everywhere.
damn, your new top looks so good and fits you so nice, makes you look like a fashion God lol (it does really add with the whitecolor, especially at painting locations)
An overcast day at Bean Hollow Homage to Poseidon, not Apollo Transparent darks with colors estimated Established shapes though may be too saturated No bad paintings, they are only unfinished Never give up, optimism undiminished A study of rocks, colors muted Pa-tre-on for YT’s best, undisputed 🌊 This turned out so beautifully. I loved the problem solving sesh. Thanks for sharing! Peace and love..Suz What ☮️💛
Love how it turned out! I think the way you opened up that area between the rocks in front made a huge difference!

Love hearing about your process while you are painting!
"a painting isn't bad, it's just not finished" how true
Hard to stay in it sometimes but vital for success
I like it! I really like the rock and the reflection in the little pool of water up close!
You had me worried there for a second, then i remembered that you never stress about missteps, you just keep on going!
Haha, I was worried. Yes, gotta push through!
Absolutely love watching you create

Really liked this video. Nice calming painting. It seems it is usually overcast at the beach. You did a great Job. Thanks Michael

Beautiful, Mike!! Fresh and energetic.

2:39 palette imagery, brush held in plain air ( < -- punny mood ) , seriously a good day here 😜
