Hey, are orchid mantis fussy easters or they jump on anything you throw at them? I either wanna buy a budwing or an orchid since I heard those are active species and grow at least 6 cm in lenght.
From my experience not at all. To be honest my budwing, before it hit sub adult, was an extremely fussy eater. They only way I could keep her alive was with meal worms until subadult when she finally took blue bottles. Obviously each mantis is different though 🙂
Very similar looking to Carolina mantids.
I got an orchid mantis named Ella (after Ella Fitzgerald) that I keep on my shoulder at work. My Giant Asian mantis also does that.
