SNC was the first a cappella group that I actually paid attention to. This was the first song I heard and the Christmas cancan was the second. And it’s been years until a few years ago when I started listening to VoicePlay. I always thought of a cappella as barbershop quartets(which have amazing harmonies however the songs normally something I’d listen to). It’s come along way and it’s finally becoming a little more main stream.
Defo worth checking out Christmas Can Can too but they are so much more than their Christmas songs. I think they missed out a little compared to other acapella groups because they've been around longer. They don't get nearly as many reactions as other groups.
Straight No Chaser??? Now THAT'S a callback I haven't thought of in a long time. This song itself was originally performed 17 YEARS AGO and I'm honestly sad you didn't watch that version (which you can find on RUclips; it was even the video in the top left corner of your screen when the video you watched ended) as you got to see the group sing live on a stage (they tend to have choreography that coincides with their creative/funny takes on songs). Straight No Chaser was also one of the first Acapella groups that I came across growing up alongside the Voices of Liberty in Epcot, Return to Zero from my mom's CD albums, and Rockapella from PBS's "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" show (I also believe that Straight No Chaser were also the first big acapella group to make it big online LONG before groups like Pentatonix became the staple of online acapella groups).
These guys got together originally as a musical group from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, USA. They went professional after graduating many years ago and are absolutely a joy to watch. Great voices, amazing harmonies and routines that make you laugh out loud.
Great reaction! Hope you get a chance to see the live version they have on RUclips. It's pretty funny with their little antics and such they add to it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣I heard this on my Christmas Acapella list the other day and thought you would have a brilliant reaction to it! I was right! Well done, sir! Keep on keepin' on, man!
I don't know how many times I watched the video of them singing that! It went viral back in the days. It still makes me smile like an idiot. I really hope you do Pentatonix's 12 Days of Christmas.
I'm glad you're taking a look at Straight No Chaser! I first saw them in a video where Tim & Austin of Home Free joined them for "Rocky Top" (which is also terrific). I got hooked on them - their harmonies & humor go hand-in-hand. Thanks for playing this & your comments. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄
SNC is amazing live. The visuals add to the enjoyment. Their antics are hilarious. You can tell they are old college friends by the way they physically interact. BTW 5 golden rings is Jerome. He is awesome. Check out some of their non-Christmas parodies.
I remember growing up on SnC because they started in my state. And honestly, this is the only way I wanna hear the 12 Days of Christmas. This is a jam and doesnt seem nearly so freaking repetitive (as someone who was in a childrens choir growing up and have sung the traditional version one too many times)
Watching you react a song I've never heard before and am so glad to have been introduced to...this feels like finding hidden treasure! Thank you so much! I'm definitely playing the original for the family tomorrow.
One of my absolute favorite Christmas songs, SNC killed it. Love your reactions to them going all over the place and the new fan is a perfect addition!
I think you’ll find that many current acapella fans started out as Chasers. I’ve been fortunate to see them several times live. Since they encourage people to video their concerts and post on RUclips, there’s a lot of material out there. But sometimes the sound isn’t the best, so you should try to react to their “official videos” that they’ve recorded for RUclips or put on DVDs. But always try to get a video with them singing. Otherwise you miss a lot. Even if it’s a little after Christmas you should still do their Christmas Can-can (get the one from their DVD, not the animated) and Who Spiked the Eggnog. And another favorite of mine is Marvin Gaye.
This is such an ADHD song. Holy Heck, my brain feels like it has gone cross eyed...Thank you to Josh for this incredible suggestion (as always)! Thank you to Straight No Chaser's arranger and performers for this incredible mash up. And thank you DJ for the reaction, kinda surprised your brain isn't soup right now! LOL
The first time I heard this I was at work. When the Africa part came on, I stopped in my tracks . I'm sure I had a WTF look on my face. All I could think was " It's weird, but I like it."
There are so many good SNC songs! The Christmas Can Can and the Nutcracker are GREAT and along with this song are staples that we have to listen to over and over at Christmas.
about 17 years ago their Christmas special on PBS (public TV) was my introduction to acapella music .....their Cjristmas Can-Can is AWESOME, defnately react to it.
Not sure if this is the perfect song for someone with ADHD or the worst song, but it is so clever!!! Fantastic reaction as always DJ. Can't wait for more SNC on the channel
I couldn't help notice you mention how many birds there are in the 12 Days of Christmas, so if you haven't I highly recommend listening to Taking Back Sunday's version of this song as well! Have a great holiday season 🎄
I just found your channel after another song came up in my feed. I have asked several react channels to react to this song, yet very few have. It is the single song that that started the current acapella trend. There is a video of them performing from 1998 that was uploaded in the early days of youtube and went viral. The Sing Off started a couple years after that. Fun fact ALL the gifts in the 12 days of Christmas are birds!
This is my favorite version of 12 days of christmas. And it has the bonus of my boyfriend's and my song Africa by toto, which is a weird song for a relationship song, but he always makes me laugh with it.
I love the Nutcracker, and I used to take my son every year to see the children’s ballet company do it. About five years ago he called me up and said “I found a Christmas song that really speaks to me, Mom”. And it was a SNCs Nutcracker. He was a good sport all those years, but I don’t think I could talk him into returning to the ballet with me.😂😂
Be sure to catch some of their current material too! They’re still touring to this day (and will be appearing on the Rose Parade on the Enjoy Illinois float). Perhaps give their “Taylor Swift Medley” a look?!
I knew you'd like this! By far my favorite version of this song. Only one that comes close is Miss Piggy and the Muppets version....and one done by a lady I don't know who sings it with every day's gift being some kind of alcohol....with predictable results.😂 I have an album if theirs. Good stuff. Happy New Year!
Here’s a video version of it, I took this almost 2 months ago at their Atlanta concert. It’s just not the same without being able to see their onstage antics. ruclips.net/video/w3GrYMc2bjM/видео.htmlsi=w1Lp7Y0axFmJxqoS
I love this version! It’s absolutely brilliant 😂 Another favourite version, that’ll leave you breathless: ruclips.net/video/XXtCSUqKNTk/видео.htmlsi=V-PW_EPQ__m5CXq5
If you go further into Straight No Chaser, you need to watch Christmas Can Can and Who Spiked the Eggnog.

I also love the nutcracker song they do. It's amazing.
And “to Christmas”
Watch the live version from the 1998 concert. The first time they ever performed it. Brilliant!!
Watching them sing this, with their added antics, is hilariously wonderful!
Defo worth checking out Christmas Can Can too but they are so much more than their Christmas songs. I think they missed out a little compared to other acapella groups because they've been around longer. They don't get nearly as many reactions as other groups.
I LOVE SNC! I've seen them live several times, and they are so entertaining and talented! Yes, try to see a live video.
That was like someone started singing the song and someone else yelled squirrel and derailed it. I LOVED it so much!!!!!
I loved watching the live version of this one. I think you would laugh your ass off.
Straight No Chaser??? Now THAT'S a callback I haven't thought of in a long time. It was 26 years. Dude.

5 golden rings part is sung by Jerome
Jerome is the best!!!!
Great reaction! Hope you get a chance to see the live version they have on RUclips. It's pretty funny with their little antics and such they add to it.

DEFINITELY do Christmas CanCan!
They went viral with the live version of this back when they were all still in college (which is how they all met), and it is a total experience.
I don't know how many times I watched the video of them singing that! It went viral back in the days. It still makes me smile like an idiot.
I really hope you do Pentatonix's 12 Days of Christmas.

Thanks for the info! 😊
Apparently they have also done all about that bass with Tim and Austin as guests at one of their shows
They have a revolving list of talent and are currently on tour.
SNC is amazing live. The visuals add to the enjoyment. Their antics are hilarious. You can tell they are old college friends by the way they physically interact. BTW 5 golden rings is Jerome. He is awesome. Check out some of their non-Christmas parodies.
You have to do Christmas Can-Can!!! Lol

Hoosier here as well. Always nice to see new people discover these guys.
Watching you react a song I've never heard before and am so glad to have been introduced to...this feels like finding hidden treasure! Thank you so much! I'm definitely playing the original for the family tomorrow.
I don't know how they manage to keep multiple carols going simultaneously.
They have an official video with like billion views
I would also suggest All About that Bass from Straight No Chaser. Any of the live versions would work.
One of my absolute favorite Christmas songs, SNC killed it. Love your reactions to them going all over the place and the new fan is a perfect addition!

Cheers !! Merry New Year and Happy Christmas from 🇺🇸🙏🌎❤️
Apparently SNC has done a xmas can can? but my two favs of theirs are the 'Movie Medley' and 'All about that Bass (no Tenors)'
about 17 years ago their Christmas special on PBS (public TV) was my introduction to acapella music .....their Cjristmas Can-Can is AWESOME, defnately react to it.
This one and the Relient K version are my favorites. The live version of this is INSANE!
A cat obviously wrote this song. They were hungry. Give them all the birds. Straight No Chaser is known for their rendition of Africa
Gotta say SNC's 12 Days is musical genius and musical insanity and I love it ALL!!!
Not sure if this is the perfect song for someone with ADHD or the worst song, but it is so clever!!! Fantastic reaction as always DJ. Can't wait for more SNC on the channel

Thanks 😊
Yay!! I got to see them live at my hometown and their original stomping grounds at Indiana University Bloomington the other day ❤❤❤ was so good

Next year watch some Bob Rivers Christmas songs. I recommend the Christmas Tree Song, and Walking Round In Women’s Underwear.
Love Carol of the Bartenders
You should listen to ther Carol of the Bells! It.s PURE GENIUS and vocal masterpiece
A favorite. You should also check out their version of nutcracker
I love the Nutcracker, and I used to take my son every year to see the children’s ballet company do it. @@janetdw I am not sure I will ever be able to go back to the Nutcracker because of that song and I like ballet
If you can find it. I highly recommend that you watch the video of this song.
Be sure to catch some of their current material too! They’re still touring to this day (and will be appearing on the Rose Parade on the Enjoy Illinois float). Perhaps give their “Taylor Swift Medley” a look?!

Waiting for you to react to VoicePlay and Geoff’s new Christmas songs
Mr. High note sounded an awful lot like Earl formerly of Voiceplay!!😊❤
He did!
Pentatonix' 12 Days is another great rendition.
You should do a reaction to Carol of the Bells remix by Maytree
They are very hilarious. Hopefully you will check out videos for this too 💝💞
Then had 10. Now 9
The 5 golden rings is Jerome, The only african american in the group
And the base is Charlie, Find All about the bass to get the eargasm of bass
If you look I to it, ALL the things in this song are birds
SQUIRREL!😂😂😂
Here’s a video version of it, I took this almost 2 months ago at their Atlanta concert. It’s just not the same without being able to see their onstage antics.

There should be a flip left and right option on your camera. Can you flip it so it is easier to read your shirts please?
I love this version! It’s absolutely brilliant 😂
Another favourite version, that’ll leave you breathless: ruclips.net/video/XXtCSUqKNTk/видео.htmlsi=V-PW_EPQ__m5CXq5
React to God and Country singing Little Drummer Boy
You need to do PTX 12 Days
