People are pricks. Loving your stuff, reminds me of my youth messing with trucks and pulling out the boot floor on a 309 using a special tool (40 ft container and velocity). That car is lovely. I have such a soft spot for these mk1 golf's.
Armchair mechanics Al, sitting there sucking air through their teeth! Whatever anyone says, your videos are some of the most entertaining on You Tube pal, funny and educational! Keep them coming matey and get subscribing people!
Without a business there would be no RUclips channel. The moment anyone takes there attention away from their core business they are finished. Without doubt my favourite channel. I eagerly await every video and have never ever skipped or finished a video early. Keep doing what you are doing. You are fantastic
Totally understand your moan at the beginning, you have a business to run and a life outside of that, all your videos are great, yes I'd like more of them but it's not possible and I respect that, your humour and way of doing things is just so entertaining.
Mate fuk the haters im in the trade and as you know there are easier ways to make money!!u are entertaining us out of your own time people are unbelievable love u and your channel m8 btw not in a gay way!!!!TOP BLOKE also £60 an hour not enough nowadays for someone of your talent
Should invite one of the moaners to walk in your shoes for a day haha they have no idea what the motor trade is like. The dream would be not having to work for the public for many mechanic lol!
Great video, always interesting and listening to you. Totally agree your comments at beginning on the moaners. I'm aware no way will income from YT pay the bills so am thankful to you for taking the trouble and time of taking the footage, editing together and publishing for us to view.
Yeah, yeah, sending blessings" Old school I have just started watching 😂I will be coming down for a Mercedes Box Van. If you've got one, Keep up good work.😂😅 Simpson" By the way, you've got a great sense of humour. That's why we watch.😂😂😂😢😮 And you sure do know what you're doing 😊 Old school blessings.😂 Lol
Always a giggle to be had watching these videos, warts n all lol. Never mind the moaners, you’re never gonna please the whole internet…with any luck they’ll just get fed up and jog on lol
Fully appreciate the work you do. I fully understand the juggling act you have to do to run a business and to do youtube. I for one enjoy your content and appreciate the work you put in.... business comes first and foremost and pleasure/ youtube comes second. Keep up the good work :)
Just found your channel this weekend and I’m going through your videos!!! Absolutely brilliant channel, vids are great 👍🏼 Loved the Bedford video literally like going back in time !! Keep peddling Al 👍🏼
Any body that moans about things not getting finished need to go and visit 6D Deisels, they are always busy do more hrs in a day than most people do in a week. Keep it up Al otherwise it means you will be home more, and thats not you. All projects get finished in the end its called patience. As normal another great video.
Your business, your youtube, your cars, your choice, shouldnt have to justify anything, but you were so polite about the bleeding obvious you might now be my favourite channel, love the content dont want you getting the hump when you give so much, and dont even have to Flipping people...
The rant was needed and justified. I like most am just grateful for what we get when we get it. I had a 1.5 GLS Auto on a V plate these early ones had really nice dashes. Wish I’d kept mine.
I'm a recent follower maybe 5-6 months really good videos but RUclips has unsubscribed twice I have to keep checking just a heads up, keep the good work up fella
I really like your videos Al and fully understand that your channel is not 10m subscribers and you are not launching an energy drink. Just a normal guy with great content! 🔥
Awesome al the thing is your gona get these moaners they obviously haven't got a clue what the process of doing a RUclips video it takes time plus your own life to get on with, loving your channel 👍
that reliant, they were popular here in yorkshire in the 80s/90s all the coal minors use to buy them and drive them on motorbike licences. there was one guy who had one he got it through the mot then it dissapeard, i didnt see it for about 2 month then i spotted it one day in GT Smiths supermarket car park hed cut the back off it to make it into a pick up then got a ford sierra for £50 took the 2.0 pinto engine and box out of it made a frame and mounted it in the back of the reliant took a fiesta gear stick and made a linkage to clamp round the mt75 gear stick so you had 2 gearstick on in the cab and 1 in the bed it was a work of art how hed done it then cut the front of the sierra prop shaft and the rear of the reliat prop shaft and welded them both together(it wasent very balanced) but my god was it quick. he was racing a rs turbo in a straight line he could over take the rs like it was standing but come the first corner you didnt want to be in it. the brakes cooked really quick and it went through 5 rear diffs in a month.back then the parts were easy to get though.he was a fitter at the pit.that was the only time id ever been in a reliant and i will never get in another one .
That's a very clean example they are either complete Swiss cheese or garage queen's you rarely find in-between. Most normal folks understand you've a real job other than making videos, but regardless, we appreciate you doing the videos.
Love the vid as always, you seem to have a full yard I still think you should give me the red golf... Full systems on mk1s are always fun. The gli was basically the same as the gti except cabriolet. The fuel tanks rust and the full pumps fail commonly. I'm sure somewhere I have a set of clocks for a gli unfortunately whomever removed them from a gli broke the dash surround. They came with a 79 gti I bought back in early 2000
Ignore the moaners Al, we all get them from time to time. Brilliant 'will it start' video, much more realistic & true to real life than mainstream shows like 'wheeler dealers' which have usually had all the fun edited out of them! Keep doing what you're doing Al (& Colin).
Fair play, but as the channel grows your RUclips revenue will grow, so ignore the haters and stick with it. Love your vids. And that k-Jetronic injection is a pain when its been left. We replaced everything on my mates XR3i and it still didnt run right. On his, the metering head was all gummed up with corrosion, and was a pig to start.
Can’t fault you with your rant Al. I’m a patient man, I’ll watch whatever you put up, whenever it arrives.Keep hold, respect from County Durham. Ps I’m subscribed
Fairly new to the channel playing catch up at mo...iam a diesel lover iI have a couple of vauxhalls and Ford diesels...which I do the vast amount of any work that's needed on them..anyway...find your channel down to earth and very informative ....cheers..
Love the content Al, more than happy when one of your new vids pops up! Well done keeping all the plates spinning and the lights on! Keep em coming. All the best. 👍
My mate has just pasted his car test. He has been using a whistle on a bike licence. He is after selling it. The car is based in blackburn, Lancashire, and its a 850cc engine. It is running as it was his daily car. Ps love the vids.
Hi Al, i had spotted this on Colins Chanel when he got it, seems its not white, had a pretty thorough colour change from Gold, Explains a lot, didn’t think they did them that early in White.
Love your videos. Can't believe people are complaining you are giving up your free time to give us this excellent content. 🖕The hater's and winger's and carry on what you are doing 👌
Very well said regarding the business behind the videos, I have to admit I do enjoy waking up on a Sunday and watching the videos, but I do always remember the work that must go into it. Keep it up and get the videos out as and when you can 👍
Yes I did watch a brave man doing his best on that three wheeler engine 👍. And yes man has a proper living to earn inbetween videos. I fully understand , I do make the odd sarcastic comment , but honestly I love every video and look forward to them .👍 All the best Al.
Live over the hill from you Al. Really like your videos and channel. Like you I rebuild classic bikes, I started doing RUclips videos but gave up as it was so time consuming and cost me precious hours. So your rant is well justified, keep up the great work 👍
Bosch k is very temperamental especially when left it probably needs the metering head cleaning or replacing they varnish up and stop/restrict fuel flow good luck
Great video as allways . If it takes a bit of a time on soon project it just one of thing. much better than going to the motor factor and being deliverd in hours. you show how to get round thing a big thanks.
I thought it was a first class moan about the moaners...Quality stuff, explaining how your world works... A world without customers....Ah bliss....All those luvly people who think we are there to serve their every wish on time...
Yeah al we understand your rant a workaround may be if you record some of your day to day work that way it’s not taking you’re time off and it may get more subscribers 😊love the videos lad keep it up 👍 👍like and subscribe 👍
Inspiration for me to crack on with my Scirocco sat in my smaller workshop for 6 years. Annoying thing is I need to nip out of Wiltshire into Somerset to fetch it!
I remember the k-jetronic system on the prv V6 engine had a flap on the intake.u had to press it down about 3 mm before the car would fire.theres a sensor that's supposed to activate the flap, but ours was faulty.also it might be an idea to run 12v to start injector.
That sensor failure was a common issue back in the day. I remember fault finding quite a few with that issue. I used to use a big paper clip on the flap as a 'get you home' many a time😃😃
Hello Al your spot on about the reliant watched to see the vw golf my mum had one like that in 1982 and many people don't reliaze you don't make money with cars stuck on ramps I can relate to that as I work in trade like you
I subscribe to this channel in part because it is so unpredictable of what we may see and when so embrace it! Loved this video and think it’s first one I’ve seen where it hasn’t cracked off but sure it will in the end. Some car that when I was very small my uncle had one and Uber cool.
Always look forward to your vids, i think the majority of people understand a man has to work as well as Utube ! You and Colin have a bit of a channel swap this week, i subscribe to you both anyway .
Keep up the vids, one of my favorite channels. The vids are better with being a sideline to your real job. Re: the cabrio, early GTIs had a fuse ontop of the fuel pump relay, check that is OK. Shorting the two big connectors on the fuse board when the relay is removed should make the pump run all the time/power the feed to the pump for your temp lashup. The electrical connector I saw on the pump and the accumulator itself looked raltively new replacments not the near 45 year old originals so may be able to get to work again.
Definitely be that fuel distribution thing on air box bet its gummed up and know anyone with brain should beable to see that unit dont magically pay for its self subscribed as thought i was no wonder i not been seen ya videos good effort
I’m pretty sure I bought a telescopic step ladder off that geezer a few years ago, he had a yellow van … possibly a Renault Trafic, it’s the yard area and garage I seem to kind of remember, anyhoo, love the content, still waiting to pop round and collect a few vito parts from you Al and the steps I bought are still going strong 😎👍
Fair play to you Al the rant was very well said mate 👍
Cheers fella I don’t normally moan 👍
Agreed, good things come to those who wait.
People are pricks. Loving your stuff, reminds me of my youth messing with trucks and pulling out the boot floor on a 309 using a special tool (40 ft container and velocity).

Just wanted to say well done, fully appreciate the stress you are under to create content and run a business at the same time.
