Haha love how you decorated the room! This shows a lot more than those ‘visual tours’ on the official UW housing website/channel btw, so thank you for that! I’ll be a UW student during the upcoming Autumn quarter, is it okay if I could message you on any social media platform if I have any questions regarding dorms?
It was such an amazing dorm tour video! Hi, I am Grant from China. This August, I will start my UW life(because of EFS). After watching this video, I was wondering whether all of the double rooms in residence halls of UW have the same size. (I mean, the rooms' area) Thank you!
Grant Li hi! thanks for watching i’m glad you liked it:) all of the dorms that are newer (pretty much any besides mcmahon, hagget, and hansee) will have the same size rooms. my room is what a pretty typical 2-3 person dorm looks like. however the newer ones have a 4 person option, which is a bit bigger.
Hey! Loved the video - thanks for doing this! Just had a few questions. You mentioned in a comment below that some res halls are more social than others. What halls are the most social? Also, what res halls have a lot of upperclass man e.g. juniors and seniors? Thank you xx
Ariana Kamboj hi thanks for watching! I’m not sure which halls are the most social or have the most upperclassmen because I’ve only been in a few of them. however, on west campus terry hall is always super social! as for the upperclassmen, i have no idea, i haven’t really met any bc the dorms are mostly freshman and sophomores!
Wow your room is so aesthetically put together, yeah decoration is not my strong suit 😂 On a more serious note though, I’m so stressed about this fall and trying to decide whether I should live on campus or not... any advice? I’m a freshman btw.
thank you!! if this were any other year i'd 100% recommend living on campus, especially for your freshman year, however with corona i'm not sure how dorms are going to work with online class. if classes go back in person though i would live on campus!
Alana nope! you can be any major! i just specifically picked alder because i am a pre-health major (but tbh we don’t really do anything as an LLC). the only dorm next year that is exclusive is maple, which is engineering students only. :)
Hey I loved your video! I'm moving to the Campus this spring quarter from Italy! I would be very happy if you could help me choosing the best dorm because I don't understand a lot from the pictures! Do you have instagram or facebook?:)
Hey are you from Georgia? I saw the Savannah t shirt and the go dawgs in your bio. I’m from atlanta and I want to apply here next year. If you are I’d love to ask you some questions if you’re interested
Jules Mauldin i’m not from georgia, but i’ve been there a few times because i have family that lives over there. i’m actually from the seattle area! if you still have questions, you can dm me on instagram @alyssa_sully

Seolhyun Ari not gonna lie, some dorms are more anti-social than others, but i did make a good group of friends from other dorms! the easiest way to make friends, in my opinion, is joining a club or greek life. and 100% i’d choose UW always, but i might be bias because i’m from seattle and have always loved UW!
alyssa sullivan oh thats good to know! I am going to apply with my best friend I hope we can get both accepted! Is it easier to get accepted when you’re fluent in two languages? (MY sat and Act are terrible hahah)
Seolhyun Ari i’m not sure if its easier to get in because of speaking 2 languages, but it does look impressive (at least in my opinion)! if your SAT score is within 1200-1300 i’d say you have a good shot.
hii! i really want to go to uw but my grades dropped a lot junior year so i have a weighted gpa of 3.8 and a SAT of 1440. do u think this would be enough to get in lol
sophia what is it unweighted? a 3.7+ unweighted gpa with that sat score is pretty on par with uw i'd say. essays and extracurriculars do matter though too!
alyssa sullivan do you know if unweighted gpa is required? i got a copy of my transcript last week and for gpa it only put weighted. but if it is required have a bit below a 3.7 (i think it’s like a 3.4 eek)
sophia yes unweighted gpa is required for uw! they don't even accept weighted gpa's on the application. a 3.4 is definitely below the average for uw, BUT if you are strong everywhere else in your application you may still have a chance (i've seen it happen with people who have your gpa or even lower!). just make sure everything else is perfect in your application. good luck!

Hi Alyssa, thank you for giving the tour. It's super helpful. Is that a twin-size bed? And all furniture are furnished? Bed, closet, etc....
Hong-Mai Rongerude hey, thanks for watching! it's a twin XL bed and yes, the dorms come with a bed, closet, and desk!
Alyssa, is the mattress topper necessary? If it is, will the twin size topper fit the XL mattress? Thank you 😊
Your room is so nice💕
hey just wondering what the name of the lights is, the hanging ones. They're really pretty and I want to look into them.
WhyHelloThere! they’re the “twinkle star window curtain string lights” on amazon. i love and highly recommend them!!
Doing gods work

I wish this was my room
i’m currently a freshman in hs, if you don’t mind could you tell me some tips about college admissions? i’d love to go to uwash :)
sophia marisol message me on instagram! @alyssa_sully
Alyssa, is mattress topper necessary? If it yes, will the twin topper fit the XL mattress?
i think so! the mattresses that they give in the dorms aren't too comfy on their own lol... i had a twin topper and it worked perfectly fine!
Water boiler? Tea kettle😊
do you have to have a pre-health science related major to live in Alder? (since pre-health is their LLC)
Alana nope! you can be any major! i just specifically picked alder because i am a pre-health major (but tbh we don’t really do anything as an LLC). the only dorm next year that is exclusive is maple, which is engineering students only. :)
@@peaceloveealyssa okay thank you that really helps!

I know this is really late but do all dorm rooms have a restroom? Or just alder hall?
Manuel S all of the new ones! i believe every dorm besides hagget and mcmahon has private bathrooms. i'm not 100% sure about willow.
