This 1961 2D animated film is has smoother movements than any 2D film or series made today. The fact that they stayed true to make it have a hand drawn appearance is just beautiful and true IMO.

In a sort of novella book that went with animated movie with a few additional details, Pongo said they got married the "following" spring, which means they dated/courted for nearly a year before getting married. Which means that they did take a little time to get to know each other for jumping into marriage.
The storyline didn't mention the exact length of time they waited before getting married, but there's NO DOUBT that they got to know each other first! You need to be friends first before you can love someone!

I didn't read the book, and there are 2 versions: The animated version from 1961 and the live action version from 1996!
