  • In this tutorial, I will explain the best export settings in Davinci resolve 18 for Vimeo and your clients.
Remember that exporting a 10-bit video file requires a lot of processing power, so it may take some time to complete the rendering process.

It's important to note that setting the gamma tag to "p3 dci" does not actually change the color space of the video itself. Instead, it simply tells the software or device that will be playing the video how to interpret the colors in the video. If you are exporting a video for a different purpose, such as for viewing on a TV or computer monitor, you may need to use a different gamma tag or color space

Edit page looks a bit different with 18.5... Regarding bitrate I would maximize it, while technically you export once for upload. And for archive you can export in lower bit rate.....
But probably Vimeo that you mentioned as target platform is still have that ridiculous size quota, so might make sense....

AWESOME STUFF! Bro what is the shortcut to mock in at the beginning of the video? And how to mock out at the end of the video?

Does the free version of Davinci allow for exporting 10-bit footage? Obviously there are significantly fewer settings on the free version, and I don't have the option of exporting with the encoding profile Main10

Do you really need to change timeline resolution before export? Looks like it works independently

    I was looking for that......BUT
The settings in your delivery page just dont show up in mine. I made the recent update 18.1.3 or so today....
"No Rate control " etc....checked everything 10 times....
I really dislike that every time you need to search for such a minor issue for 10h which has nothing to do with your work.
Like why isnt there just the same like in Timeline: 10 Bit / 8 Bit. I mean why does main10 means 10 Bit? Honestly makes no sense :D
Would highly appreciate it if you could let me know what I need to set up to get these "advanced" export settings.
I tried it 15 times checked and unchecked everything 10 times. Footage is 100FPS 10Bit form my FX3.
Thank you for your support :)

i tested settings i have 5gb file 8 minutes 4k HLG HDR. After i did color test and export to quicktime nvidia h265 and main10 and best in quality instead of bitrate my video is reduced from 5 gb to 1gb. So something in export is still not fine.

You can ask Resolve to use it with the free version by going under the DaVinci Resolve tab > Preferences > Memory and GPU and under the GPU Selection section, setting the GPU Processing Mode to CUDA and setting the GPU Selection to your 3080Ti. I use my GPU for all my exports.
