Even when watching this at 1/4 of the framerate this still looks like sped up gameplay x) This is just insane. Especially that bit at 13:00 just completely baffles me. It's also funny as hell that it is faster to complete the Mirror Temple's B-Side than going through the actual level.
To explain, TGH did a hyper dash to the left, then jumped right, Celeste for whatever reason allows you to change your direction on a dime with a jump, and maintain the dash momentum. Those moving blocks on ever move once you dash, so what happened was TGH got this momentum of the moving block and the reverse hyper dash, and flung himself across the room.
I never like feeling rushed while playing video games, but I LOVE watching speed runs, and even when you oop, you're still doing something that is so completely incomprehensible and unobtainable to me, even when I put my mind to it. Mind blown on Celeste btw, what a wonderful game to SR!
Imagine watching this speedrun before getting the game and thinking “Oh then Celeste must be easy” then actually going to play it for yourself and realizing it’s a 10-20 hour game getting to the summit ALONE
Pretty incredible to see Problem is that the current best TAS is a whole 4 minutes ahead, so I'm not sure that's gonna be beaten anytime soon. Wish him lost of luck, though. I'm sure someday, we'll get there
When Teej demodashes through the wall at 7:52, I'm wondering why the input display doesn't show a down input until after Madeline is already past the wall. It might just be me not understanding how they fully work, but I thought that demodashes were essentially a downward dash that you redirect to maintain the crouching hurtbox. Can someone explain what happened here? Amazing run by the way!
It's so interesting to watch a speed run as someone who has attempted a speed run before, current best time is just barely sub 1 hour. You make all these precise strats look easy as shit, I can still hardly hit yeet or get my demodashes right, but you just breeze right through it. Mad respect.

i bought this game three days ago, finished this took me 10hrs/2100 deaths..I got to this through speedruns videos...I didnt know this game is extremely hard, Im working on platinum trophy ( no assist mode of course) and Im watching this speechless, it is unbelievable what human s brain can do... Vyllan the platform thing is pushed all the way out when ever u dash so he dashed and jumped and even tho the platform barely moves it gives u the same amount of momentum every time at any distance Dashing downwards was just bc he had downtime before the block would move out of his way. Its pretty much t-bagging Sorry if any of that’s inaccurate. I literally just played the game for the first time today and looked up speedruns after taking 8 hours to beat it
