I soak it in hot water for 1-2mins and use one of those little bottle cleaner brushes.

You can use it for so many other vegetables as well not only cheese. I use it to grate carrots and cucumbers for salads!
i used it for cookies for a cheesecake crust when i didnt have a food processor. also worked great for me for walnuts :)

actually there's suction at the bottom so it would stay and standing still on your countertop, you should twist the button (or lever? idk what those called) on the side of the grater to suction it to your countertop. but yeah, finally you're using the product correctly!

I have the same one and the suction thing never really stays suctioned properly unfortunately but aside from that it works great

The suction never work on the wooden surface, try straight on the counter and you will see the difference
That suction no longer sucks after just a few uses. If you are unlucky you also get one that won't stick right from the beginning. There's also a protective plastic film you can't tear out completely from inside the graters. That handle connected to the body with plastic eventually breaks if you grate too many things that are hard like carrots or frozen cheese.
It's actually extremely cheap to buy if you are living in asia. It's like a cheap toy product sold for super high prices in western countries. Not to mention that most positive reviews in amazon about this product are fake - They simply flood out all negative reviews with tons more positive fake reviews

here in italy i believe most of us grate the cheese by hand, with the grater and a bit of hard work, and sweat lol
this machine looks too small for the big sized pieces of parmigiano or any other big solid cheese. (i believe most italians also just buy the parmigiano already grated cause it's just more comfortable and quick)
It's supposed to have some kind of vacuum hold at the base to prevent it from moving, and can be used with vegetables too👍🏼

We has these in our kitchen in india . But not for cheese . But to chop vegetables and makes fruit juices. But they are sooo weak n plastic made they cant handle the hardness of vegetables. So it was eventually thrown off 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I have one similar, but mine is electric and might be a bit stronger, we use it to make ground beef, graded carrots, and other things that you can make with a grinder like that.

My family has one but it isn’t slanted like that, it’s horizontal. We use it for many things: cheese, cookies (for fine cookie crumbs), etc.

i'm getting old, in my 40s i don't want to do this by hand anymore, but i also don't want to be stuck plugged into a wall. with all the different battery options for powertools, it's really lame that microplane hasn't partnered with dewalt, milwaukee or even makita. so many old style companies that don't think about how things could be better and don't innovate.

I would love this because earlier this year I was helping my mom grate some cheese and my thumb fingernail that I was growing out cause I filed it too short got caught on the grater and broke off an entire chunk of my fingernail ripping it from the skin underneath I was crying, my hand was bleeding and my nail was on the verge of falling off. It's back to being longer than its original size quicker than google's guess
My mom has one of these as she pre-grates get blocks and stores then in tubs (depression. Makes everything easier).
We have this one because my nephew loves coming over and grating up the blocks for her as 1. It's fun and 2. It helps her out.

Pro tip: just hold the thing that presses the cheese down with one finger LIGHTLY, it makes the cheese fluffer
The suction cup’s terrible, it’s impossible for this thing to not move around everywhere when using it. It’s a pain thanks to that.
If they could redesign it to where the suction cup would actually stay attached this would easily be a must buy.

I actually like using hand graters for Parmesan, a lot faster, but these things would be a lifesaver for cheddar and Edam, mozzarella might be a little too soft

It's not by chance that in Italy the cheese is grated at the table is a consideration to the clients showing they are being reserved genuine products of good quality, apart that it makes it way tastier, grated at the moment. The same goes for spices.

Its just a hand held grater that is probably way cheaper than what you bought. You stick a square cheese and turn that’s it. Ps I work in a Italian restaurant
how are people seeing this for the first time, i have had one my whole life its a metal one really thick tho would definitely make a dent in the floor if it fell, but ive never graded cheese in it i have a grader for cheese, we usually use it for walnuts if we need them for a cake or something
I hated this machine… it didn’t work with harder stuff and cleaning it wasn’t great. I’ll stick with my food processor or a hand grater
