    It's great seeing your Dad on a short clip. What a great explanation on the technique for roping cattle. Both of you explain things so well and I always learn a lot watching your channel.

    You need to pull the slack with the hand your throwing your loop with and not stand right behind the steer

    OH Joel bring back memories of my dad we raised cattle in Florida, and every once in a while dad would get on his Tennessee walker and his rope. Miss you dad you left us way to young.👍👍

    I'm new to livestock, but I figured I may need this skill on my acreage with more animals here by the day, so here I am. Both techniques you mentioned are familiar to me as someone who practices with a saber, so hopefully they translate.

    I use to be able to rope good. But it'll take a lot of work to get a horn.

    This is no accurate. Don't rope directly behind. When you throw point in between the two horns. You can get around the horns that's thu best but neck catches and half head are allowed.

    He doesn’t know anything catching a steer or cow around the neck doesn’t hurt most of the time roping around horns hurt them more that why they have raps for the horns

    So help me out because I grew up on a “farm” in VA where we boarded horses and trained them to show in reining. My step dad was famous in that world. I’ve never heard of you. Why are you wearing farrier chaps with tassels? No shade at all. You could just be a farrier that’s doing a demonstration.
