Hi Daniel! I'm the one who sent you the signed copy of The Fallon Blood (it's also a first edition). Amazon wouldn't let me include a note! I totally would have otherwise; so consider this your note. :-) I've been a subscriber for a long time, since back when you were making your first "Let's Summarize" videos about the Wheel of Time books. I had read up through book 10 in the series when I was in middle/high school, but that was all that had been published up to that point, so I had to drop it. It was always a life goal to start over and read the series all the way through at some point, so I finally listened to them all on audiobook a couple of years ago. I found your channel while searching RUclips for WoT related content, and I've been a subscriber ever since! After I finished WoT, I didn't want to say goodbye to Robert Jordan, so I also listened to Cheyenne Raiders and the Fallon trilogy on audiobook. I remember you saying in a previous video that you hadn't read Jordan's non-WoT books, so I thought you would appreciate having one for your shelf. The Fallon trilogy is actually really enjoyable, particularly if you like historical fiction! It's not on the level of WoT of course, but it's amazing just to be able to spend some more time with Jordan's authorial voice. You've given me so much entertainment and enjoyment over the past couple of years, that I just wanted to do something special to express my appreciation of your content. It's been really wonderful watching your channel grow and getting to see you fulfill your dreams as a content creator, and I can't wait to see what's in store for you in 2020. Also, I, like many of your subscribers, am eagerly awaiting your book! Best of luck with the writing; I'll be the first in line to buy it whenever you put it out. As for Bora Bora, I would be more than happy to relocate to a tropical paradise and run a literature-themed bar with you while we both pursue authorial careers; just let me finish up this final year of graduate school that I'm in. :P Until then, I'm wishing you all the happiness and success in 2020; you deserve it. If you ever want to say hi, I follow you on Twitter @thewriter23. I hope you enjoy The Fallon Blood, and maybe we'll get to see a review of it sometime this year? ;-) Good luck with all the reading!
    Sincerely,
    Nolan Boyd

I read the Bzrk series. I definitely think its good, the micro level fights is probably the most unique view point I have ever seen in fiction, while still being understandable. And the Bug man - I think that's their name, is one of my favourite characters. I'd say any problems you have will pop up in the last book like, the final villain coming out of no where - literally no foreshadowing,
an unsatisfying ending - especially with the regards to the character I said was my favourite.
And weird dialogue choices. One character says they are going to get revenge on the villain for killing this famous guy because "he was a gamer"
Still a fun story and worth the read.

It is ABSOLUTELY f**king great; but it had two big problems. The first being some issues that I just cannot read about without feeling sick and hating the world being a bit too prevalent in the books, which...shapes the world, but also makes the series INCREDIBLE hard to read.
I still have no idea how the author managed to drop the ball so hard on this one.

    • @Ceangailte

@@Victoria-pt4io Peter can make you hate characters. One book later he dives deep into this Character. And while you still dont like the Characters you beginn to understand them. I love and hate this in the same time. Reading the series realy needs some nervs. But in the end it is a absolutely outsanding experience. The incest that happens is heavily related to the Problem that it is not a good idea to travel alot. The cultures are so damn trapped. And the Series has alot strong Woman Characters and i realy cant remember that it has alot Raped Characters. But the scenes we expeience as readers are sometimes extreme. But in the End the reward i got from reading it..... absoluetly worth it in my Opinion.

Only recently found your channel(along with some other WoT heavy channels) and am stoked to have a metric ish ton of fantasy/scifi vids.
All the WoT prime show info doesn't hurt either.
    Here's to a great year.

The Saga of Recluce. L.E. Modestt has so many books. Be wary of getting started. I have collected them but not gotten far reading them. Really curious to get your take on the first Recluce book.

The Recluse books are great, very quick reads. Most of the books deal with different protagonists in different time periods, and some of these characters have similar story arcs.

Okay, Beasts Beneath the Flesh is a must have for me, if for nothing more than the gorgeous Boris Vallejo painting on the cover. Read Magic of Recluce, Daniel, want to see what you think of it. Modesitt is one of my favorite authors, he combines economics, environmental science, politics and fantasy. He has great sci-fi, also. Warning: his series are non-linear.

mic tip. Clip the mic near your collar. 6-8” from your mouth is best. Attaching it to cups, etc is fine but don’t keep moving it around. (Again clipping it on shirt is best)

Theres a part in On Writing that says you can't write until you've been amazed by other writing. So its ok to feel you'll never write anything as good as someone else.
