I was thinking of presenting my tools in my bag on YT, got a few extra bits in mine, which I believe it's worth mentioning, maybe in future. #networkengineer

Really cool insight man, thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. There's a lot of value in content like this so please keep creating and sharing if you like doing it. Is there a brand you trust or maybe a few different brands that make reliable but cheaper alternatives to the link runner, greenlee toner & prober kit, and punch down tool?
the Samsonite Modern Utility 17.7" Paracycle bag has really been an amazing bag for me as a more generalized repair technician

NetAlly has a version of the linkrunner that is pretty much the exact same. Klien tools also has a network tester that is pretty basic but is very durable. I havent played around with many other toner's beside the greenlee one... i have been happy enough with it that there has been no need to switch. Almost everything i got was used from ebay, you can pick up some really good deals on there if you are watching. Glad the video's have been helpful.

Did you move into your field with networking certs first and then applying or did you move into your position from a more generalized IT space and the certs came while doing?

I started out as a college kid pulling wire and basically being a grunt for 2 years. I have never gotten any networking certs at all. I just worked hard and learned as much as I could where ever I was at. Most of the times I have had people reach out to me asking if I would come work from them, they never seemed to care that I didn't have any certs. There are companies that do require you to get certs. Some people swear by them, some people dont care.
