I’ll never forget the time Joe let me play his jazz bass when I purchased an amp from him back in high school. Couldn’t make the bass sound half as good as he did. Back in those days, he was playing with the band, Something Different In the Homemade Jam, which was the best dose of jam band you could get in Northern Michigan. I’m pretty certain Joe was wearing the same glasses back the too 😎

I made the compilation video when the EB was first announced - Knowing some people would miss the Fender JBass. I was combing through some old hard drives and found the interview with him talking about his bass. As an editor and video producer I felt it was a cool moment of foreshadowing when he said “Just trying to get as many miles on it as I can, you know, wear it out” ... The shoutout at the end to the Joe Dart custom is more of a cheers to Joe wishing him success and many more “miles” to come in his new adventure with his bass that has his name on the headstock, which was very exciting at that moment (it still is pretty wild to think about). Just an artistic choice, but I understand why some may not dig it. He still plays the Jazz bass and has used it at shows even after the release of the EB. Thanks for the comment!
