Well... I'd really like for the mechs to be able to punch and kick. That would really change the dynamic with the assault mechs. A light mech that gets too close to a heavy or assault with arms is going to get squashed like a bug instead of underrunning the bigger mech's weapons and microlasering them to death. And it would give players an incentive to use third person perspective--that would make melee combat easier to control, and they could add stuff for sidestep, back step, crouch behind cover, etc. Make the mechs feel more organic, like in a 3rd person shooter instead of like driving a tank as tall as a building. Right now the mechs don't actually feel like mechs at all; none of the mechwarrior games really did that. They're supposed to be agile etc with the neurohelmets, even the big and relatively slow ones and they just aren't. And the arms aren't arm like at all, they just let you traverse the weapons a little more up and down, they're just enhanced turrets. The models they have in this game are wasted, stiff as the actor in the C3P0 costume when I want them to move like K2S0. I know this is just never happening with this game but I think it would make this a lot more fun. They wouldn't have to change the graphics, it would be about changing the control scheme, adding animations that make use of the lovely designs, and giving them damage numbers.

I'd place 3 lasers on the left side in case one side torso will be destroyed - to have at least half the firepower you know it yourself - game is generally for right-side peaking because of counter-clockwise nascar. now if someone blast your RT (which is usually more likely, I think) - you'll have only 2 LLs left

you should try a marauder ll 4a and do 5 large lasers a large pulse laser and two medium with a speed of 51.8 speed with the rest into heatsinks and two cool shots and a lot of cooling in skills and it do's great in shreding and for hand to hand combat and its good at shreeding the bigger mech like a king crab or atlas it damage out put 65 in all just don't fire all the large laser a the same time thou i found out that the hard way
Hey Baradul, the build is much to hot and unconfortable, pls try this: standart armor, endosteeel, single heatsinks, 325 xl engine, drop ams, fill up with single heatsinks, so you can fit all the lasers in the torso mounts, you heatmanagement will go+, your speed + , easy aim with all the shouldermount weapons and you can use youre arms for shielding because they are empty, 4 heatsinks in the legs give a bonus in water ect. only drawback xl engine but i saw crazyer builds from you. xD LG & hf

So... one more Large Laser than the Grasshopper 5H build, but slower and with no jump jets and no energy heat quirk. Honestly, I think I'll stick to the hopper.
Baradul likes to play the tank for his team so they initiate and overwhelm the enemy instead of endless poking. Heavier mechs make it possible to do that once per match and (with a bit of luck) survive. That in turn makes for entertaining videos.
@@andreewert6576 No argument there. His gameplay is better than mine and quite instructional. But people follow his lead BECAUSE he is Baradul. As a dude without a youtube channel, if I do the same thing, fewer people follow. =(

@@angoth Well there's no need to go on the offensive here. Its not a complaint, its an observation. I'm of the mindset that using an assault mech for a role that can be accomplished as well with a lighter chassis is better served by actually fielding that lighter chassis, such as LRM spam or in this case boating large lasers. I love the variety and examples of gameplay that Baradul showcases for us, but for me this isn't one of those "oh I gotta try that" builds that he sometimes fields.

You know someone is spoiled for Cbills when they fire a shot at the end of a match going up to only 36% heat, and then pop a cool-shot!
If only mechs could extend their arms forward. Would make some of these hip level hard pts really useful.

The light 300 engine does seem to be the perfect engine for a lot of heavy and assaults loadouts.

I got the Johnny 5 achievement in a 6 LL Battlemaster as a trail mech.
Second match was one where your team will mistake the enemy's incompetence for their own competence.
The battlemaster needs wide load flag trucks running in front and behind it. If only you could tackle your enemies.
You can get the same amount of heatsinks with a standard 300 that way you can have all high mounts.

He wanted an extra heat sink which given how hot the build is is pretty understandable.
