Thank you but, for me the "Edit" button is disabled :/ (I only have 1 drive (with multiple partitions on the VM itself)), how can i do then ? Could someone help me ? WELL OK THAT'S RESOLVED : this was because i had Checkpoints savings, and also on the VM itself (some restoration points).
Hi, your VM has 2 drives c as drive one and d as drive 2. so the new added GBs added to d drive in this example. my question if you could please advice me about it. i have only one drive which is created as c and d partitions, and i have windows on c and some data on d. but there are 50GB not used in d and i wish to take it from d and add it to c partition. i tried to shirk d then extend c but that didnt work. the question is, if i add GBs the same way you did, then i will be able to expand C or again it will be possible to expand only d? i hope i explained it in a clear way :)
Thanks but this didn't help. Hyper-V is throwing a weird error saying the disk can't be expanded becuase there are active snapshots. No clue why that would throw an error but normal production environments use CITRIX or VMware products. This particular client has such a small network that normal solutions just aren't practical and all my Hyper-V experience is in a lab environment. Anyone watching this seen this error before and figured it out? As it stands now my clients want to delete all the snapshots and I'm begging them not too and I'm not on-site to try and force them to find the snapshots and back them up first.
thanks!
tried to do that before, but didn't know about diskmanagement memory allocation settings
Will you be getting an error if you extend the VM space to 110G which is 10GB more than the free disk space on your host?

Hi, the extend volume in my hv is greyed out, do you have any idea why and how do I change that?
You have to turn the machine off

You have to disable the snapshots before doing any
Thanks💋❤️
Can I expand c drive also like this
yes
Nope, it won't give you the option from windows, use minitool partition wizard
