Here's a quick Dookie song medley using my new MXR-Dookie Drive pedal. Liking it so far, let me know in the comment section if you would like to see a full Gear Spotlight on it.
I used all backing tracks for these songs.All of the guitars you hear are my own using the Friedman Dirty Shirley's low input channel set to a clean with a light breakup and the MXR Dookie drive.
For the guitar cabinet I used an Ownhammer Marshall 4x12 cabinet w/ V30's mic'd up with a SM57, 421 & Room mic IR.
Both amp & pedal settings are shown on each clip (basically all the same really).

Awesome man! I have one too. Just wondering if you remember the settings on the pedal? Did you keep them all the same for each song?
I mentioned that on the description. The amp settings can be seen in the opening shot of the video and I use the same pedal settings for all of the songs as shown.
Can we have a version where you play along with guitar backing tracks so we can hear the difference between the pedal and the original easier please?

So what happens if you run this pedal through a MIAB pedal like a DLS set to low gain amp style? I have a Caralinabread DLS I use as a amp channel with a Fender 6L6 style(Sky King amp). Thinking using this pedal with my main drives and having the DLS on with its full EQ controls should nail it. Weird how it’s a Plexi dual amp pedal…but I see so many say it works best with a Plexi. That’s like me buying a Fender amp in a box pedal for a Fender amp.
Not sure what MIAB pedal stands for. I no longer own this pedal but it was fun to use for a while. I found it sounded best through an amp in the verge of breakup as opposed to a full clean amp. I am not a fan of overdrive/distortion pedals unless I use them as a clean boost or to tighten up my amps natural distortion.
@@90sPunkRockCovers cool, it means Marshal In A Box. You’ll hear that in pedal board threads used a lot. I agree I like all my pedals going into an edge of break up. Usually they overlap and compliment a bit there. After seeing this, I saw Caralinabread just brought out the new DLS Deluxe. Now that’s a Marshall Super Lead/JCM 800 to get! I’m still using the DLS MK3 which is mostly all Super Lead. But just did a practice space band time share, and they have a real 80s JCM 800 for house use. So I think I’m gonna try my Sky King with pedals, and try the real JCM800 in a 2 amp mono setup. Probably will need to wear ear plugs lol.

Pause the beginning of the video where I pan into the amp. Remember your amp might sound different than mine so it will never be the same sound.

Hey man, could you tell me the placement/position for each microphone you used on the Ownhammer Marshall cabinet for this video? Cause I have the whole setup except for that 😅
The mic placement? I can’t remember that. I just threw in a random IR that sounded good.

I have the Dookie Pedal going into a clean amp going into a Marshall cab with Vintage 30s in my amp sim. So now, I'm just trying to get mics right.

I ran a pretty "flat" EQ. I don't remember exactly anymore, I believe the shot of the amp in the video shows them.

two marshall lead - one modded - mixed together as I read somewhere.
centravanti who knows. It’s definitely a thicc sounding guitar sound compared to the other tracks of the album, at least to my ears. I really noticed that when I was covering it for this video. So you might be right about the extra bass, or it could have been mixed heavier. I left the same EQ setting the same for all of the songs in this video.
@@90sPunkRockCovers if you quad track it with the knob full left and full right for one of each side, or re-amp it with both settings you'll get the sound (I don't think the whole thing is quad tracked though). It'll probably do better than the blend knob, but for a lot more work
