I was in this performance! It's wierd because just 6 months ago, I was looking at the Phantom of the Opera Wishing I could march in this and now I'm a part of it! Talk about pride!
5***** !! its not a symphonic orchestra, but as a band they sound great. and when its even music of my favorit composer:dmitri shostakovich, it cant go wrong. all the movements makes it even more difficult to play, so no doubt : supergreat greetings from belgium alain billiouw
The chime player is not off. The music was written so that the chime player was supposed to play random notes in scale as fast as they could (aka...loud noises!!!!)
@apathyandanarchy I was section leader of the pit when we played this and I appreciate your defense of pit players not being dumb. Most of us play other instruments and only are in the pit so that there is a front ensemble. Let's face it the pit is often the black sheep of the band anyway.

That is awesome! That's exactly what did! I saw the Phantom of the Opera and it's what made me want to be a marching Duke!

Last year it was around 385, this year we were 474

@Jmuduke Just how long ago were you are section leader there? I was in the section in the late 80s. We played this at BOA grand nationals.
