  • The pelvis moves and this means that it has a big impact on the progress of labor. The pelvis is a key player in childbirth. The baby travels through this bony structure on their way to the vagina / birth canal. Moving in labor with change the shape of the pelvis and is highly encouraged. #BigWheelofBirth

    @Alice Turner this is an excellent video!! I had a BPP ultrasound this morning. I was told her head is nice and low, but a little alarmed to learn that baby is facing my left instead of back. I've been watching positioning videos, but didn't want to disengage her and risk her flipping the other way! I can't tell you how relieved I am to know that she's going to navigate just fine! Thank you!!

      I had an amazing labour and delivery on May 29, 2021! Thank you so much for taking the time to post all these videos. We slow danced while hubby put pressure on my lower back, he reminded me to be limp and loose, and I horse lipped through almost every contraction. Lol. I will forever be grateful for your Childbirth Prep Course! Thank you!!

    I have one question: What is the best position to give birth according to You?

    • @birthtoolbox
      @birthtoolbox  3 года назад +5

      I think my favorite birthing positive is kneeling and leaning forward (like on the side of a birth tub or the back of a bed).

    Nice video. After giving birth, I'm feeling a lot of instability and pain in the pelvic area and knew nearly nothing regarding the anatomy of the pelvis. This was very informative and gives more clarity as to why I feel loosy goosy in the front and sides after birth.
    About how long after birth does it take for the flexibility in the pelvis to decrease so I can feel stabilized and no 'grinding' again?

    I know this isn’t on the topic but what are ways to prevent shoulder dystocia during birth and what are ways to prevent tearing during birth

    • @birthtoolbox
      @birthtoolbox  3 года назад +2

      There really isn't a way to prevent shoulder dystocia. For preventing tearing: good nutrition, hydration and avoiding an epidural for more control over pushing can help.

    • @bluerivergirllexi
      @bluerivergirllexi 3 года назад

      @@birthtoolbox early low quality evidence studies showed that women with epidurals were more likely to tear but then it was shown that it was primiparity, not the use of epidurals, that was the actual issue. There is good evidence in favor of perineal massage, which can be started at home by mom as early as 32 weeks.

    Why do America practice laying on your back if it’s not beneficial for the mother?

    Not sure why the word woman has now been replaced with pregnant person. It's a good video apart from that. Let's just replace thousands of years of female history and womanhood. I'm really tired of this.
