      Thank you - and I agree 100%. Most of the historical figures I find fascinating weren't mentioned in history class. Sometimes we have to teach ourselves!

      Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed it! I watched The Great and really liked it. Most of the bad reviews I read were from people who didn't appreciate the liberties taken with history. But if Shakespeare can take liberties with history and create great plays like Richard III, I don't see why we can't do the same thing now with other interesting historical figures like Catherine. :)

    I never had a zits issue. Then again I don't gorge on oily, greasy, meats, or any animal by-products which would worsen and caused skin problems and feminine complications. Since going vegetarian 10 years ago I had no problems with the skin and body. Royal diets back then killed people... today the royal diet is consider middle to poor class diet as sugar, fats and oily foods are cheaper today than they were back then. Who knew eating like a peasant would could prevent so many health problems. I actually saved my mothers' own life by getting her to be more aware of what she puts into her own body. Before she use to gorge lots of meats and animal products, which caused many of her cardiac problems. She stopped that and she lost a lot of weight as well as her health improving. The only times I gotten acne was due to my body detoxing from drinking soda that was not Zevia. As Zevia is a soda that is close to being organic or without the excessive ingredients like other soda brands. Coke Zero, Coke decafe or any brands like that caused dryness and acne to come out. 😱If you want bubbles in your drink, Zevia is the brand to drink to avoid complications. I notice my body doesn't react negatively with Zevia and tastes better without after taste like other sodas.
    Another trick to improve skin appearance use tea tree oil soap, then use Yes to Tomatoes scrub, followed by Yes to Carrots mask with Kale, wash it all off. If in the day time use a moisturizer with SPF, but at night an hour or two before bed put on hemorrhoid cream. Hemorrhoid cream tightens and smooths the skin. It also contains an ingredient that protects the skin from outside elements, helping to heal faster. I also recommend taking a vitamin C supplement (3000mg to 5000mg during this pandemic; strengthens the skin and immune system) and gluthathoine (great for strengthening immunity and to improve hair, skin and nails health).
    It is fascinating to read and watch videos on how they did things back then and see how much has changed or not. Thank you for this video. I love Catherine the Great. She is up there with Peter the Great, as my favorite Russian Historical Figure. Though my all time favorite Historical Figure would be Vlad the 3rd Dracula. May be make a future video of his wives some day? Would be interesting from their side of things. Anyways thank you for your channel so many goodies, so little time.

    • @TheGirlintheTiara
      @TheGirlintheTiara  3 года назад

      I'd heard about using hemorrhoid cream for under-eye bags, but I didn't realize it also protects the skin from outside elements. That's fantastic. I went on a low-sodium diet a few years ago, and that helped me feel better, have more energy, and lose weight. I'm not as strict with it as I used to be (back in the day, I only allowed 1,000mg/day). But it's still my main metric for deciding what to eat.
      Catherine is one of my favorites, too. I'll add Vlad's wives to the research list and see what happens! So glad you're enjoying the channel. :)

    Great vlog as always! Is it you with the tiara at the end here... Eau-de-vie is brandy. It is the same as Cognac, but not made in the Cognac district. It is the with Champagne. Madame Mumm took the Austalian wine makers to court. They called their wine for Australian Champagne. Madame Mumm won the case. No the bottles are labled Australian sparkling wine. Now you know! I hope you are well and safe!

    We actually have Noble Serpentine in WA State as well! It's not pure Serpentine as it is a Serpentine Calcite blend. But still interesting and that beautiful bright split green color! (Sarcasm on the color, I find it looks rather like baby puke after they eat mashed peas and drink milk/formula lol).

      It's Concerto for 2 Cellos in G minor, RV 531 by Antonio Vivaldi, performed by the The Modena Chamber Orchestra. It's a public domain recording from MusOpen.org - you can download it for free here: musopen.org/music/3612-concerto-for-2-cellos-in-g-minor-rv-531/
