Yup. Laminar wind is not a big issue until it's getting much over 2/3rd of your trim speed. When the terrain and trees are higher than buildings the wind over the ground will be ... more challenging to deal with.
hmm. with all the years I've been flying if anything.. having a bit of wind helps you fly.. and when landing going into the wind slows you down far more. when there's nearly nil wind thats when there's more skill involved .lets say a power launch. if you don't know how to do it .then it can end up tits up .cut lines damaged prop. even harder when inland flying .lotes of rotar. beach flying is far easier. I have a viper 3. a viper 4. and a Dudek driftair. flying is a bit like life .it has its ups and downs. always learning... how many years have you been flying?
Hi bud how often do u fly from that location am not far away in crosby just finished my pilot rated course an got my own kit is this area a good place to fly in
I think people are really stuck when on big wings, it becomes hard to progress without actual decent skill. So they get a smaller glider then progress instantly after that confidence stage
so how doest this work to launch behind the dam? everything in me is yelling "rotor turbulence city!" very cool video. i am jelli about your little flying spot. i love to fly at the ocean. in fact i ONLY fly there because i cant launch in zero wind. i am in beginner mode. wasnt scared first. pushed my limits. scared the living crap out of me. back to beginner mode. and so the circle starts again! 🤣 my limit is around 6-8m/s gusts. everything after that is rollercoaster and no fun for me. but i am trying to learn more
Nice touch and go's! Thanks!
Leasowe lad! You need to come over to Hoylake, plenty of grass/sand.
Great flying! What camera system are you using that follows you like that?
