When I hear Susan speak, I hear an elementary school teacher. Sweet, maybe a little shy. But when she opens her mouth to sing - what a badass! And she's an incredible guitar player! What a talent!
Susans voice so spectacular you tend to forget that she's one of the best pure rock guitar players around. Anyone onstage with Derrick will struggle to stand out. Ask Warren. His game ups every time they play together and still gets spanked. But Derricks seems to elevate as well. Iron sharpens iron. Susan should know that no guitar solo has ever made me tear up. Her voice on Midnight in Harlem, Any Day and others does so regularly. Seeing E C standing stage slide happily singing along to Àny Day mind blowing
I sort of love how Susan Tedeschi looks like a school librarian with preppy glasses- but has an absolutely perfect bluesy voice. Not to mention her guitar ability. Girlfriend can rock ! Awesome video!
Ain't a band on this planet come close, so glad I happened upon them in 2017, by chance I heard them play midnight in Harlem on the TV, and have been hooked ever since, I'm seeing them twice this year London and Glasgow that's the 5th time seeing them, a birthday treat to myself 65 years on this planet on the 20th of November and Susan and the band have made the last 5 years special. 🏴my country Edinburgh my city. 🏴
I know this is like almost a year old, but TTB really is the best touring band out there right now. Blues, Rock, Soul, Funk, and everything in between there isn't anything they can't play.
Finally a Paul Butterflied Blues Band cover! Love the TTB. Need more classic blues. The world needs more PBBB covers esp. Blues with a Feeling and Mojo Working.
This is a cover of a Bobby Bland track. Much as I respect The Butterfield Blues Band, (I love Born In Chicago), their version of this song was itself a cover as were their versions of Mojo Working, (originally Muddy Waters), and Blues with a Feeling, (originally by Little Walter). In case you hadn't noticed, 'classic' blues tracks are always by black artists.
'I Pity The Fool' was originally sung by Bobby Bland on the Duke label out of Houston, Texas. Much as I respect the Butterfield Band, (I love 'Born In Chicago'), their version of this was a cover, as were their versions of 'Blues with a Feeling', (originally by Little Walter), and 'I Got My Mojo Working', (originally by Muddy Waters). In case you hadn't noticed, the Blues is a black music. If you don't know these original artists, then you don't know the Blues.
This is seriously the best thing I've ever seen and heard in my life. My God, Susan is not from this world, what an amazing woman!!! Thanks for posting! Love
Caint wait June 26th Tuscaloosa Alabama. Been waiting a long time for this treat I’ve seen Bonamassa several times KWS , Buddy Guy. This combo IS SPECIAL
The trombonist is pushing off the floor using the whole body singing technique. It does amazing things for holding notes and hitting the high notes. The whole band rocks.
All I know is if I had one chance to meet one person in the Band, it would be Elizabeth Lea. I mean every time I see them live she never stops rocking and she is always on time. I am not sure i trust people who dont move when their body feels the spirit, I trust Elizabeth and OMG she is FIRE on that Bone. Its like she owns her Horn like Derek owns that Gibson
My God. She really is something else. She doesn't need go on about "being better than a man" or that sort of nonsense. No, her guitar playing, voice, presence and choice of songs look after all that. In one huge in your face statement. Long may she run. Lucky Derek.
If you haven’t seen this great band live treat yourself to the best band out there. They absolutely smoke it. I’ve been a fan of the blues along time. Blessed enough to see some of the greats SRV, BB King, Gary Clark, Joe B, Johnny Winters and others. This bunch rates right up there with them. Of course just this old guy’s opinion. I just love this band!
The girls got chops ! No doubt about it. She can certainly hold her own with any guitarist that stood the stage with with the Allman Brothers. She has nothing to prove to anyone, the proof is in a great blues voice and top notch guitar work. Derek Trucks learned from the best, puts it into practice and recognizes it in others, like Susan. She had a fine career on her own, but seems to have really found a home with this band and has hit the ground running with them. Together Derek and Susan are reminiscent of Duane and Dicky. I hope this union lasts a long time.
Great rendition. If you want to hear other spectacular versions, check out youtube for Bobby Blue Bland and and Ann Peebles--different and equally wonderful.
Man I'm 51 years old and I got a huge crush on Miss tedeschi or should I say Mrs trucks either way I love her

Spot on description.

Gotta love a man like Derek Trucks who stands right next to his wife while she rocks it out.

So so so so good! Wherever he is, Bobby Blue Bland is smiling...
I know this is like almost a year old, but TTB really is the best touring band out there right now. Blues, Rock, Soul, Funk, and everything in between there isn't anything they can't play.

Caint wait June 26th Tuscaloosa Alabama. Been waiting a long time for this treat I’ve seen Bonamassa several times KWS , Buddy Guy. This combo IS SPECIAL
Saw Susan live in 2006 with her old band. She was awesome, pretty neat performance and music. Always thumbs up.
The trombonist is pushing off the floor using the whole body singing technique. It does amazing things for holding notes and hitting the high notes. The whole band rocks.

Love my Susan! Does way better than I ever could on a Les Paul. Could never play it much past the twelfth fret. Go Susan, Go!!!

She is awesome her solo ranks with some of the best Stevie Ray Santana Clapton etc..
Good joke!
It was a good solo, but I wouldn't put it in the same category of SRV or Clapton.
