I actually just use one book too. I use a multi pen. So black is for work and blue is for personal. One notebook, one pen, two colours. It works well for me so far 😊
Ive used one at times, but lately I have a personal one I take everywhere and a work one that stays on my desk at work. I just found that I wasn’t comfortable having some of the very personal stuff in my BuJo sitting around at work if I stepped away from my desk for a moment. Also, by keeping the work BuJo strictly professional, it means that if I’m out, I can let trusted co-workers go to it to find project status information and other things they might need. It also helps keep work during work hours. If something occurs to me after work, I just note it and transfer in the morning. I usually have a page for this, noted in the index.
@@momokiene9973 No, I thought it was a genius idea though! The only thing I've ever done is to do the daily logs from the front and the collections from the back. It makes the indexing a little easier sometimes. But I forgot again and now I'm doing the regular bullet journal method. So if can't have been super helpful or else I would have kept that method.
I can do both work and personal in one book, being self-employed, but if you work for someone else, be cautious. If you put work notes in there they could consider that confidential business info that you're not allowed to take home with you, and if you leave the job that you have to surrender them.
Yeah, that's the same reason why you usually get a work computer/work phone that you are not allowed to use personally. Also: If there is some shady shit going on and your company is investigated, your notes could be confiscated by authorities (at least in my country)
@@leza4453 A bujo would be great in court. Assuming it's in a classic journal with bound, numbered pages, that you probably have the date written on, that's absolute gold for establishing when things happened. 😁
I personally do like to keep the two separate. If I'm off the clock, I won't be needing work notes. I do have the two books in the same cover, so I still have my personal with me to log my day 👌
I have to keep separate work and personal notebooks. Work should stay at work and home should stay at home. Mixing them makes me feel like I'm never off work.
I use a few different notebooks, but for most of my thoughts, planning, scheduling, and all that, it's the bullet journal. I only have specialized notebooks for two things: reading notes and long form journaling. Those could easily be integrated into the bujo, but for now, this is my preference.
I use by Bullet Journal, as this overlord that “oversees” how, and where, ideas get delegated to. I don’t like it to be full of collections, but rather a quick option to jot down ideas, for them later to be assigned. I find this way it still acts like an index, without becoming too complex. Then, I have mostly Field Notes for topics / musings / quote collections / commonplace books, which are all labelled and referenced within the BuJo. Also just having a Field Notes as a “Capture All” allows me to just capture on the go, as my Bullet Journal is too impractical to carry around. This allows me to have a system, have the ability to capture, and then review and delegate throughout the week / month. ( also, using a Calendar app in tandem )
Yeah if I worked for myself or was fully remote or something, I could see myself keeping one notebook, but I really like keeping it separate. I can get loopy and weird in my personal notebook but keep it profesh and orderly in my work notebook.
I tried that trend on youtube of owning roughly 7-11 planners by having 3-4 hobonichis in 2020 to 2023 and it burned me out 😂 i work better with my current setup of one planner, a morning pages journal and a sketchbook. Made me feel less insane
I think it really depends on the situation. I've been in jobs I hated and if I had used my bullet journal to write down notes for those jobs, my motivation to use the bullet journal would have plummeted. I am now in a job that I love and that aligns much more with my personal values and ambitions. Combining free time and work in one book has become not only easy but necessary.

This is perfect!
That’s rlly smart. U could probably use highlights or sticky tabs too

I just use the notebook from two different sides. Front to Back is classnotes - Back to Front personal notes.
This is an underrated comment
@@cesbi Do you also use this? Because I always wanted to know if others use one index for each side or one total index.

I will be interested of the how ! Thanks for the sharing
Me too 😢

That's great! It would be good to have a link on how you resolved that issue!

I have to do both, its important to respect the privacy of that businesses work details.

I am too paranoid to bring my personal notebook to work. I wouldn't like my family trying to figure out my notes, let alone coleagues 🙈
Never mix personal and work, would be fun if they take your notebook and you have personal stuff in there
maintaining multiple books makes journaling complicated.
Handsome ❤😊
