Is this the best bargain and most useful thing ever for my sewing hobby?

That is an eyewatering price for a sewing table! I have found I won't be able to afford a designated sewing table so I am having to 'think outside the box' as to how I will 'make' one. What a bargain your table was! Well worth that long drive.
I have a Horn Nova cabinet and doesn't take long to open it out and lift the sewing machine up for use and it is a useful surface when closed. I think Horn goods are well made, the delivery chap brought the cabinet in a huge box, unwrapped it, fitted the castors and adjusted the perspex thing to fit my machine (It was already cut for my machine but it just needed a bit of tweaking). He didn't leave until I was happy with it.

It is super expensive new! The cabinets also look great, I looked at a few second hand ones if those too. The service seems to be great. They even helped me even though I was buying 2nd hand from someone else (I had to check that I could remove and re-attach the legs to fit in the car) xx

I can most certainly understand how pleased you must be 😊 I have been sewing for nearly 50 years and been used to cut out on the floor or the dining table. But a couple of years ago I finally got myself a second hand table with flaps that my hubby helped me make to standing height. It is a dream to be able to stand up with a straight back when cutting out and pinning and so on. And congrats to such a bargain! Not only good for the wallet but also for the environment 😊🌿

You know you can warm the mat up with a hairdryer not too close and it will soften it, also make sure you clean it often with a lint roller for loose fibers , and you can wash it in a bathtub to restore it if it gets dingy that will extend the life of the mat. But later on if you can not refresh it years later you can turn it over and not worry about the measurement lines.

Don’t Ikea do something very similar??? Very reasonable priced. Lots of horn cabinets for sale on eBay very cheap compared to new. Good find through xxx
