@@dgmclar yeah, why does he not trying motoGP? he doesn't want ?
even more like "tutorial" :D
I like that Johnny is down to earth and kind to the teacher.
Exactly my thoughts
Don’t forget to take the ‘ L ‘ Plates off for the next race !!🏍😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Leave the L plates on! Too funny.
@@James-pc2bz that's exactly what I would recommend 😁
i'm dead xD
In the helmet could be greattt
The guy who finally passes you Jonny will have a story for life to live on for ever. Imagine sitting in your local bar and telling everyone it was ME who passed JR in his bike test. Your a LEGEND MATE and all the best for 7 in a row.
Imagine being the guy who had to fail him! lol
what an awkward situation for both xD
One of the funniest things I’ve seen! Who knew that WSBK GOAT didn’t have a licence to ride on the roads. So normal and down to earth, if all sportsman were like this, the world would be a better place! Go JR and team green 👍
Johnny is such a great champ on the track and yet such a cool a humble guy in real life. It may sound weird to hear him saying 'i'm nervous because I'm gonna get tested', but this shows how a nice and clean person this guy is, inside and outside the track. JR, one of us! Ok, at least as long we're all standstill...😄
You ain’t alone….. I remember when I was a kid and Dave Thorpe was MX 500 world champion , he didn’t have a bike licence and he took his test…
Another legend like wee Johnny!!
How incredibly ironic is this??? 😳
6 time world superbike champion taking classes to get a motorcycle license.....
Jonathan, huge respect to you for putting yourself out there for all of us to watch
as you "learn" and test to get your license. 😎👊
Very much looking forward to more of your wins this season..... and a 7th title. 😉
Keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤️🏍
Randy
Speed check 🤣 the one time ya don't check the law materialises out of another dimension and next thing you see flashing lights!
Fantastic mate
Wheelies are part of the test now. Love it
Always learning, never stop learning. Class and respect. What a top bloke!
You should start on a z125 it’s a great beginner bike 😂
Looking forward to the upcoming race weekend Team Green
😂😂😂😂
Beginner bike discussion. 🤣
He can ride professionally but is a learner? Shouldnt that be the other way around?
great Attitude, that 's what loving life is all about,God Bless!!!!
All the best for the test!
Jaw dropped to hear you didn’t have a licence to ride on the roads.
Welcome to the club. Our track is every road we're exposed to. Come and join in. Would love to see you in the Scottish Highlands. Some awesome twisties.
What a humble chap
I did wonder if you would blog the training ....good effort and i cant imagine that phone call as i am a CBT instructor and the thought of teaching a 6 time world champion to ride a road bike is mind blowing. I know there are things that will be new to you for slow speed stuff but ...... still mind blowing ;)
"L plates and yellow bib" 🤣🤣Brilliant, joining the rest of us. 😄. Good luck at Donington this this weekend, looks like a few showers.
Surprised you could start off without someone pushing you! Well done. Great courage to put yourself through it even with all of your experience. Great role model. Cheers jr. 👍
Fantastic and actually pretty humbling that Mr Rea is willing to say that riding on the road is pretty hard. You can see why people like him! Best of luck!!👍
so cool seeing the best Superbike rider in Drivingschool
Best advice I ever got for riding a bike on the road: Expect every car to take your right of way and plan your emergency exict accordingly.
Stay safe and enjoy riding on the road GOAT!!!
A Versys 1000 or a H2
I learned to ride 2 years ago, aged 35, proper early mid-life crisis. Took me 6 attempts to pass the MOD1! Couldn't get the speed right for the swerve test at the end.
Nailed the MOD2, first go tho, bought myself a VFR800 as my 1st bike, done 12,000 miles since, absolutely love riding.
Great that you have made the videos. Why don't you come along and describe the experience to some of us. You have a massive following here in the North.
The challenge has been made.
Total respect! |It takes balls to do it after being a world champ!
I reckon you would buy something opposite to what you ride on the track but still a nice ride which would be a Versys 1000 SE Grand Tourer and be nice to take the wife out on it.
If you were married to JR, would you get on the back with him?!
@@trwilliams22 LOL thats a thought, No Chance....
Good luck with the test Johnny; it would be awesome to get a biker's nod from a six times world champion down the coast road sometime! 👍
Bloody awesome Jonathon when a 6 times WSBK Champion admits to having trepidations and concerns driving on the road under wet conditions at 60mph whilst doing your first learner lessons. My Grandson is about to undertake his motorcycle learners here in Sydney so hope he has the same trepidations as you and while it is an amazing passion to ride bikes it can change in an instant if you think you have it all mastered as younger people tend to have. Having ridden for well over 50 years and love it more now than ever, the one lesson is ride within your ability. Regards from Sydney, Australia.
Just see you forgeting yourself and doing a life saver on the starting grid and they're gone. :)
Always been a fan, but seeing the behind the scenes makes it even easier to root for you . . . Good luck @ Donington Park this weekend ! ! !
Well.done and good job not being ashamed to post this good dude
I bet you made that chaps day
Showing J R how to ride a road bike so cool 🏍😁👍
Must be great for the cv too.
It´s never to late to learn something new, right? You will end up succesful. Don´t worry :-)
I’m guessing a Z900RS if alone, Z1000SX if 2 up. This is great JR, thanks for sharing
I learnt with Stephen and Ronni as well. Top class instructors and loved the handling of the z650.
Hi Jonathan, best of luck with your test, I know you will pass no problem. I know exactly where you were doing the closed road stuff. 👍👍👍👍
Your really are a star riding with those stabilzer bars, good luck with your test. I thought you where wearing a N. W newcomers bib lol!
That yellow bib I’m sorry but hat made me laugh 😂 I’m sure that wee man thought it was a wind up when you rang 😂 good luck for the test and I’m guessing it will be a H2
thanks for taking us along that was so fun to watch!
what a similarity.. i also using z650 when im taking my B full (malaysian bigbike license).. the test in this video just exactly same as i take it early year (feb 2021)..
for information :
B2 License (250cc and below)
B full license (above 250cc until beyond 1000cc)
Yeah, I felt the bike test is a bit more advanced than the car test. More safety rules to remember such as helmet, gear etc. Then also being tested on control of the bike, balancing around figure of 8's etc. at slow speed. Before the actual road test. More of a challenge. And like you, seeing people enjoying their bikes on the roads in summer year in, year out, made me think, I want to get my bike license too. Did it during lockdown and bought an old 2003 Kawasaki ZX-9R in excellent condition. Absolutely love it and the thrill of its power, especially flying up steep hills! Failed my module one the first time as wee staffy dog of nearly 15 years died the day before.. well it didn't help anyway. Got it the second time though with a clean sheet and just one minor then on my road test. I reckon I'll go for a big BMW touring bike in a lot of years down the line to travel around Europe in.
I’m sure it was a bit weird for the instructor to be telling the six time WSBK champion what to do and how to ride a bike. I think you should get a Ninja H2 tourer for the road. Stay safe out there, Jonny!
Dude! You should get a 2021 Versys 1000LT SE!!! Tips into corners with ease, wife can ride on the back for some 2 day trips, etc. Overall a great bike. Its just hard to flatfoot for us shorter guys! :)
You are simply the best in every way. I'm really enjoying Your videos, please continue.
Cheers Jonny, legend 🙌🏻
Good luck pal. Your biggest fan from bonnie Scotland 🏴🏆
Brilliant Jonathan.Loved that.
Top Man Jonathan, how did you find the awesome power of the Z650 😁 great bike to learn on, The bike for when you passed has to be the H2r or maybe the awesome z900rs got a bit of retro cool 👍
+1 for the z900rs
This is gold!
Love watching this. World champion rider learning to ride a bike on the road....what ever next. !!! Good luck to you , I'm sure you will be fine .
We're coming up to Donnington this weekend to see you all. Good luck as we will be rooting for you JR.👍👍
Best of luck JR, hope you're going a bit quicker than 60 at the weekend 👍
"I'm learning to ride a bike"
Jonathan Rea 2021
Coming from a guy who breath, walk, talk motorcycles & arguably one of the best ever if not the Best..
Absolutely brilliant!
I only did my test a couple of years ago (no WSBK experience - although I did hire a scooter for the day on a Greek island once) and to see JR going through his CBT was an absolute blast. Fantastic vid, subbed!!
Ah I think an ADV or relaxed tourer might be on the cards. When you ride at breakneck speed as your day job, I'm guessing probably want to relax when it comes to hobby riding :)
A good quick bike is a zzr1400, a great tourer comfortable to ride and for pillion as well with plenty of grunt when you want it
What a legend! Rea as well 😁👍🏼
I love JRea. A genuine nice person but a beast on tracks. Go Johnny
Seams strange watching you doing your training. Good luck
Funniest notification i think ive ever had pop up........I’m learning to ride a motorcycle on Jonathon Rea’s RUclips channel 🤣🤣.
Got to be the H2R good luck with your test ride safe 👍🏽
Fair play buddy ur an absolute legend, I've had my license nearly 30yrs n I wish had a smidgen of ur talent... Good luck at Donny this weekend pal 🤗
Great to see this video. Took me back to my basic training where I kept dropping the bike trying to turn right at slow speed. Amusing to hear your comment about the damp road.. Wait until you get on the painted lines, that will give you a scare. Looking forward to the test video.
Just the final test.......then you can be one of the Sunday coast road to Portstewart guys, for a Morelli's and an endurance of "car park" talk. 😄
No chicken strips on your tyres though. lol
If you look closely, the bike... it seems like it doesn't carry anyone on it. What efficiency of movement and relaxation 👑🙆💯
JR is priceless to Kawasaki and a top all round bloke. As for a bike.....Z1000 or 900 ? Both good road bikes 1 or 2 up a Hayabusa would be good too (put a Kawasaki badge on the tank and away you go) !!
Gd luck Jonny, can’t wait to see how you get on in the DAS. Completed mine three years ago in winter in Scotland and never looked back since!!!
Class, never thought for a second you didn't have a road bike, but yeah, totally different skills to the track, no such thing as pot holes and re-surfacing grit on a track hehe.
Ha brilliant well done, strange to watch a world champion doing his bike lessons 👍
Great content - best of luck pal!
You should pass first time surely Johnny good luck lol you will smash it
Thought the video was great, made me chuckle throughout, even just thinking that Jonathan Rea doesn’t have a licence. Keep up the vids👍🏻
Good luck! My guess for a road bike will be Ninja 100SX or Versys
Oh that was hilarious, thank you Jonny! :-) Best of luck getting your license and keep fighting for the SBK Championship
Wow...what life story that instructor has now...😎😎
One of the original H2's....................two stroke madness!
Great to see you getting a road license best of luck however I know you won't need it
Welcome to the world of motorcycle riding :) I guess a Versys 1000 would be great every day ride.
JR:"So strange that i am riding a bike". Yeah buddy, imagine us seeing you go around on a 650 with a huge L on the front and wearing a bib. Loved this episode!
Good luck! A versys 1000 abs lt se
It is quite funny Johnny Rea learning to ride a bike it doesn't seem real
Ride safely on roads then 👍👍❤️❤️
Great vid. Stephen is a gentleman, did some advanced training with him. Great guy. My guess is a z900rs to look the part with the Mrs
Well in mate! on your module 1 and 2 dont forget them shoulder checks! Good luck
Go left field Jonathan, get a Harley Sportster, I was really surprised how much I liked it after a solid diet of sports bikes. Ride it at WSBK events as well to give other riders a chance!
Hello JR, vraiment sympa cette vidéo on croise les doigts pour l'obtention du plateau 😁👏👏✌
Goodluck and keep er between the hedges
Its gotta be comfy for the missus 😎
Good lad! It's all about the "lifesaver" checks on the road. If you can keep pumping that message, you might even save some bikers from getting hurt.
As for the new bike, how about a Scott Russel rep. ZXR 750? The first kawasaki wsb championship winner 🏆 🏍🤘
It’s come a long way since my day when the test was £15 for half a hour test then away yo go !! Barp Barp 👍
H2R. Gotta be. 😉 Oh and best of luck on the test. Should be a formality. 👍
It amazes me how some of you guys don't have road licences .. o hope you enjoy you coffee rides (that's what it's all about) . Be careful, idiots on the roads are not as fast reacting or as alert as you guys on the track. Good luck.
Great stuff mate way to go.
Hey Johnny keep your head up! You might have gone down but you’re definitely not out. I could see how hard you have to ride in order to run up front which I feel is because of the drastic rev limit the Kawasaki has compared to the other bikes. But just keep on going champ!
Z H2 SE for your road bike. You'll love it!
H2 the real one 2stroke triple
Really well done, good job mr. Rea , hope you do well in the races 45th comment. Love to see your swoops in the track! Awesome rider you are. Very responsible at that too.
Great insight 👍🏴
Brilliant
Get the 1000sx. Perfect for a blast with the boys or to take the mrs down the road for a coffee. Cheers from 🇦🇺
Best of luck for your test jr . May I suggest something not to powerful for your first bike 🤣
