- This simple snowman festive decoration is quick and fun to make and would be a perfect project for a child! Make up a few for a comical display, and try varying the accessories, ribbons, bows, even a bit of glitter!
I’ve used a fleece fabric as it’s so easy to work with and is so soft to touch.
Materials from www.debbieshoresewing.com
Materials:
1 piece of white or cream fleece measuring 12” x 8” [30cm x 20cm]
1 circle of white or cream fleece measuring 4” [10cm]
2 circles of brown felt for the hat each measuring 4” [10cm]
15” x 3” [38cm x 7.5cm] fabric for the scarf
Scraps of orange and green felt
7 red pom-poms [optional]
Toy filler
Black embroidery thread
3 x small black buttons
Strong wet fabric glue [Gutermann HT2]
If he had a khaki hat and scarf, he could almost be the snowman out of Raymond Briggs animated television film :) He is just delightful!
I love these. I will make three of these with my little great grand daughter. She will love them. Thank you for sharing. Ann from Va. USA 🇺🇸
While I've never been one to like holiday snowmen in the past, this little guy IS SO STINKIN' CUTE!!!!! Thank you for such a fun project, Debbie! I'll just have to get the materials to make a few. 😀 ⛄

Soooo beautiful❤😍😍😍
My first try at snowman, great fun to make, have another 5 cut out and ready to go, thank you Debbie your tutorial was made very easy to follow, how do I add my finished pic?
Can I add a pic of my finished snowman, as a beginner I’m so pleased how it turned out with your great tutorial x
Wonderful! I'm going to make this AND the cute gnome!
A quick question( not related!) Do you have any advice re cutting mats and cutters? I'm going to gift my daughter! Thanks. Keep up the excellent tutorials. I love watching. ❤
I use Olfa, a 45mm rotary cutter is most used, 24” ruler and the bigger the cutting mat the better!
My daughter loves to decorate with snowmen, I'll try to make her one. You make it look so easy!
You mentioned twig arms, would you just glue them on? Thank you for showing us how to put him together ❤
I’d make tiny holes in the sides, push the twigs in and glue, glad you like him!
Hi, Debbie, my Chrissy tree ornament for the grandchildren 2022 . 😊 Jenny G
Could you teach us how to make the design behind you with the houses with wonky roofs
If wanting to put sticks for arms how would be the best way to attach them? Would making a little hole in the side of the body and gluing
be sufficient?
I think that would work well
Thanks Debbie :)
I’m sorry, I didn’t hear what kind of material you used.
Very over exposed at times. Makes it hard to see at times.
