Invicta is another channel that tends to go into specifics on units and societies. Those are just some of the ones that I follow and recommend. Hope these help.

I wanna see a video on Switzerland's military. I find it interesting that every man serves but when he leaves the military he keeps his service rifle just in case the country is invaded. I also find it interesting that their government pays for them to come back yearly for a friendly shooting competition to keep their marksmanship skills up.
It might have something to do with their stoic belief in neutrality and the fact that the banks and vaults of Switzerland probably hold most of the worlds money, gold, and or secret things that certain people in history may or may not of smuggled and or bribed officials to hide away.

Maybe you are refering to the macedonian phalanx used most notably by Alexander the great, Alexander's father Phillipos was held hostage in thebes and there observed and studied the holy band wich was at the base of the phalanx. The major difference betwen hoplites and phalanx was the immense long spears
Makedonia used Hypaspits, they used the Aspis instead of the hoplon, that was heavier. But DONT confuse hypaspists with pezhetairoi, those were pikemen and used an even smaller shield, the pelta.

This is false. The word "Hoplite" comes from "hoplon", the shield hoplites carried. This is the same with Peltasts.
Not true, the Hoplite shield was called an Aspis
