It is nice that your friend wanted you to do something for her. These are an interesting simple study of a technique for your viewers who are beginning. I really like your portraits and realism far better. Could be because that is what I do and love doing. I have been making a living for over twenty years doing art and art related work. It is quite enjoyable to watch you in action. Incredible talent so young! I can see you are a success! Keep up the good work and never let anything or anyone take away your dream. You can do what you believe you can do!
I know you're the expert so you may already know this tip on how to stop the bleeding under tape: To prevent the bleeding, first paint over the edge with a transparent acrylic medium. This seals the edge. Any bleeding by the acrylic medium is transparent (i.e., invisible).
The real trick is getting better tape though. Tape that's a little bit more like ducktape and a little bit less like 'paper painter's tape', should give way better results. The typical painters tape is too papery and thin to prevent true bleeding. You should perhaps look into masking tape that's used for varnishing wood or painting with wall paint (outdoor stuff). It is not real ducktape, but definitely slightly more plastic-like and won't allow for bleeding. In some cases scotch tape can work too, but in my experience you risk peeling off paint if it has been stuck on there for hours and hours. Also, the surface you paint on matters quite a lot. Some papers are softer, rougher and basically allow for more bleeding given enough of a fluidly paint. I'm going to say that's most likely what happened, as regular painter's tape shouldn't always bleed.
Love hearing you talk us through your process while you’re also still figuring it out! I find talking things out loud helps me through a problem too. You among many other talented artists are what inspire me to keep doing my art and more importantly, to enjoy it :)
Dope shit. I love doing abstract art at times. I find it's really helpful for when I have artist's block. I don't have to have any fleshed out ideas, I can just sketch spontaneously and let whatever comes out of my brain flow.
Great value! I work as a freelance motion designer/animator. Giving clients different options and getting them more involved in the project is a great tip👍
Hi Slew. I love your videos. I'm learning a lot! I'd like to know what's the difference between the blue tape and the ordinary masking tape you use in this video?
@@hatimciabata I tape then use an acrylic gloss or matte medium depending on what I'm doing, then paint my colors over. I learned the technique from Detour, a Denver Artist.
I always seem to get some paint leaking through the tape. I use regular acrylic paints and I even tried the special frog tape that isnt supposed to let paint through. How should I combat this??
SLEW how would say the quality is when it comes to drawing? Is it good enough to suggest to somebody else for art purposes? And you use procreate correct?
Sketchbook tour coming soon my guys :}
cool
It must be incredible having a studio apartment, just your own personal space to live out your creative ambitions

Acrylic medium or just same colour as what is under the tape.
I didn't know this trick - so thanks for sharing! 👍😊
nice one!

How do you price for motion graphics? Is it 3D moving logos of established branding?
I’m an abstract queen but also like illustration. I have to practice a lot to get to do realism. That may be my next venture.

Really liked this! I actually learned something
I came here from 10 hun's page. I regret nothing 😬
Sick work bro 🔥
very cool!
Use a medium on your tape first then add acrylic paint. The medium will fill the holes and gaps in the tape so you get clean lines
What kind of medium? As a first layer after it´s taped up, then move on to the layers of the acrylic paint?

What software was used to make a digital image on the iPad

Thank you now I know why my acrylic lines abstract painting didn’t work! I’ll have to try spray paint next time:).
Where did u get the tipping desk? Thanks
Your shirt. It's awesome.
try doin a super light spray of clear flat .it stops the paint from creeping under the tape
Love that you share your artistic stream of consciousness! You are uber talented! Where did you get that great work table?
I find washi tape to work the best not only for adhering but it comes back up with out taking paper with it

How much did she get those for? Just curious.
Are you a Swedish guy? You seems like Zlaten.
He has to be! lol

Ok I’m going to spray design some cool sheets... tag ya later
i skipped 15 seconds forwards around 9 minutes and thought you were cleaning your brushes in orange juice.
