  • I join Kirk Eddlemon, Jordan Mikle and crew for a fantastic weekend of Kayak Camping in the Obed Canyon of the Tennessee Plateau. Kirk Eddlemon is a world class kayaker who has paddled all over North America as well as around the world. One of his loves is seeking out and conducting first descents on virtually unknown rivers. Currently, he is a kayak instructor at Ace Ocoee Adventures' Ace Kayaking School. In this capacity, he offers kayak camping clinics a few times each year during the winter months. I jumped on the chance to tag along with Kirk and highlight this program as an amazing experience and first class option for those looking for both kayak instruction and a way to be guided on a kayak camping expedition. Jordan Mikle is one of head honchos at Ace Ocoee Adventures. He came along to help Kirk herd the cats. The rest of the crew was comprised of the kind of folks you just enjoy hanging out with either on the river or off. It was an unforgettable weekend! Come along as we take a journey Into the Obed!

    Love all your videos, but this one is special. The Obed/Daddy’s Creek is a such a wonderful place and to spend the night in it truly captivates one in its contrast; like the grandeur of the massive cliffs, and the tiny details in the often overlooked nooks and crannies within the boulders that lie in the riverbed! Keep up your awesome work. Also I really like the poetic style of this video!

    Amazing. This film is giving me an even greater appreciation for a place I alreaady knew was magical. Ive paddled the Gauley and the ocean, and theres no place Id rather paddle than the Obed system. Only done Daddys once but Fang is an image that is burned in my mind.

    I just bought a kayak . It's a pelican castaway 100. Now I never been on one. I got it for 75 bucks. I'm putting stabilizers on it first cause it's going into winter now and I want to fish. I'm m seeing it up for fishing right now but this summer will been another adventure in life hopefully. I really enjoy all of the videos. I love the all day video of you guys kayaking. It looks so fun. I waited till I'm 53 years old but I think I can do. it

    First of all, awesome video! I am just curious though, and I am not trying to be rude I promise. You describe a lot of south eastern classic rivers as your first time down (Chattooga, Nolichucky, etc.). I am just curious what rivers you have ran the most? You seem very keen on Wilson's and some local spots, but what else does it for you?

    • @RiverKingsKayak
      @RiverKingsKayak  3 года назад +1

      Love creeking the most. Elk river, Russell fork Gorge, Watauga, Cheoah etc...I love it all! Back in the day, I skipped over most of the lesser class runs. Lately, with my son in tow, I am rediscovering the world of class 2, 3 and stuff I had not done before etc...
