i love it when royal women show their respect to the Pope by curtseying
And the special thing is: They are both Argentinians.
We Dutch love our Argentinian queen. The queen is catholic and that is why she bows to the pope, to show him respect.
Our king cannot bow to the pope, since he is also the head of the Dutch reformed church. That is why he gives the pope a handshake, because he needs to be seen as an equal.
The fact that the queen is catholic is absolutely no issue. Makes me proud of my country!
@@gravityskeptic8697 truly that's amazing.
Im surprise she’s not kissing his ring knowing she’s practically a Catholic Queen.
Because Queen Maxima is Roman Catholic.
@@gravityskeptic8697 The Pope and his prelates are pedophiles. Dont deserve respect !
Koningin Máxima is actually Argentinian, so for her it is probably a big deal too
And for me, as Dutch speaker, it is so weird to hear Willem speak anything but Dutch. His English is actually pretty good
I believe he speaks fluent French
0:26 the queen and also the pope are both from Argentina
Father you look like my father . I'm a new Christian member god made me a Christian and the Queen Elizabeth is talking on the sky with god . I remember my father 🙂
Queen and pope are Argentinian people 😍
Bless

Je hebt Noord- en Zuid Holland en dat zijn twee provincies. Nederland heeft twaalf provincies.
Because maxima remains to be catholic.
Does she have to convert if she's marrying a king that's a different religion?
@@MarioRodriguez-gr8wc different religion??? it's christianity it's all the same
randy antonacci no it’s not. That’s why the Queen or King of England all have to be members of the Church of England. They can’t be Catholic or any other religion.
@@MarioRodriguez-gr8wc where do you think the roots of the "church of England" hail from? It's roots are catholic. It's just a formal subdivision title. Like a Sentra is a subdivision of a Nissan and a Pathfinder is another subdivision. The Church of England has more in common with the Catholic Church than Shiites and Sunni Muslims BUT PEOPLE STILL CALL THEM ALL MUSLIMS regardless. you're acting like this person is a Buddhist. Either way it's all Christian we're not talkin about Buddhists Hindus or Muslims. I'm guessing by your name that you're either a Mexican or Hispanic. if you want to get technical well the Mexicans don't even practice real Catholicism. it's a half-breed bastard religion between indigenous and Christian forced conversions by The Conquistadors if the Indians like your ancestors didn't convert they would have been killed. European Catholic is way different than the religion that the Mexicans or South Americans practise
randy antonacci so is the Catholicism from Europe. They’re full of pagan rituals. It’s there in the history books. Constantine wasn’t even a full Catholic, and he maintained many pagan rituals. When the Catholics converted the German tribes, many German tribes maintained their pagan rituals. Christmas is a perfect example of a ritual that is pagan in origin and has nothing to do with Christianity.

How will she explain to the pope that she abandonned her Catholic faith?
Are the going to ??

T U L I P The who why and how of salvation.
why is she curtsying??
Sniper Crab62 Because she is an Argentinian Catholic. Plus very courteous.
@M. Scott...she should have worn white then
I quite agree. As a Catholic queen that is her right. However, as the Netherlands is a Protestant country she may have felt it inappropriate.
@@mscott3918 The privilege of white is only held by Reigning and Consort Queens of Catholic Countries. Nowadays, only Queens Letizia and Sofia of Spain, Mathilde and Paola of Belgium, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, Princess Charlene of Monaco and, not sure about this last one, Princess Marie of Liechtenstein. It seems to me that Princess Marina of Italy also has this privilege. The reigning and consort Queens of protestant countries, and all other woman, should wear black when visiting His Holiness. I think the vatican protocol is more relaxed these days with Pope Francis; in this regard, we’ve seen Queen Elizabeth II or the Duchess of Cornwall wearing in colors other than black (Except White which is only reserved for queens of catholic countries) in their most recent visits to the Pope.
@@mscott3918 that is not true. The Netherlands is both protestant and catholic. No official religion.

Whats with the Black Dress? Everyone Complained about MS Trump.
Holland is not a country and Maxima is not our queen. Nor is the pope a man of God.
then what is holland? are you an atheist?
@@alangervasis no sounds more like a boob
Curtseying by the Queen is not required because she is a Queen Consort of a Foreign Power. However, she did out of respect, so it was her personal choice.
Actually she did a curtsey because she’s catholic. Catholic monarchs always do a reverence for the Pope.
