The .308 Mag mentioned is a .308 Norma Mag a pet of his. It is factory standarized of the .30-338 Win Mag wildcat ,and that one latter mentioned is perhaps one of the best .30 mags in standard length action, still to this day .
@@WeaponsAffair the .460 Mag he shows there is the .460 Weatherby Mag . 500 grain 2700 fps . In last ca 25 years the bullets made have been solid enough for it to be very good . Better than it was . Some dedicated ph around swear by it , and enthusiastically use it for much . But simpler better options is around .
@@MrPh30 I imagine monolithic copper or brass .460 would be devastating. I also imagine 500gr. at 2700fps would leave me flinching in my sleep. I've fired alot of slow, heavy stuff like .45-70. And alot of higher velocity light stuff in the .30 mag family. But never something as fast and heavy as .460.
Same bullet as .458 and .45-70 it uses . Trouble was in full speed when the same for .458 and 460 was used if not a stronger version Barnes , Swift , Rhino , Woodleigh is good there . 550-600 grain also for it to get speed some down . John Rigby Co came with the .450 Rigby some years back . .416 case up to .458 . Mimics it at about 2400 fps As many downloaded .460 to , as not to mess up things too much with . But for strong bullets it’s few that matches it with the flat also . Just be able to use it well that is . Alpin used it for number of his cartridges as a base case . 500 Asquare is perhaps most well known of them .
Thanks for posting these. I love the older stuff 😊
You bet. And thank you
