Horror with biggest budget to date, and they used that cash really good. Story was awesome. This one & the scene where van holds Anna dead by the moonlight in a tower are my faves... It really deserves more love, VAN HELSING FOREVER!
I'm going to say right now. Van Helsing is a masterpiece. The way Stephen Sommer set the tone for Transylvania with his set design, costume and music, is just so immersive and fun! . And his monsters have so much character, the vampires are straight out of a Victorian paintings. And I love how Dracula and his vampire wives deliver their dialogue like they're singing.. It's almost sad when Helsing executes them, because they're so beautiful. And the character design of Frankenstein and the werewolves, they were so violent and explosive. And considering this to be a action heavy movie, all of the sequences were purposeful and creative, and further immersed you into the Transylvania world, and what it mist be like to hunt vampires for a living. I consider this a monument in the vampire genre. I wish they would have rebooted it, with Warren Ellis as a writer, and Sommer directing again. Apparently James Wan is producing a reboot, but honestly I'm pretty skeptical .
I just like this part in Van Halsing, the party with the costumes and mask is very wonderful and creative with the costume design. I wanted to see Transylvania some day if life ever get back to normal again. I like Van Halsing a lot, is a good movie to watch for Halloween beside anytime.
Seriously, how did this movie not become a trilogy. It alone defines everything that the monster universe should be. Hugh Jackman is an excellent Van Helsing, because he's got the physique and the rogue-ish demeanor that says if you screw with me I'll make sure you never see the light of day again. Not to mention the fact that the actor who plays as Dracula just knocks the role out of the park. He's devilishly evil, deceptively charming, and absolutely terrifying when he gets serious. And in many ways, despite the fact that he's trying to unleash an army of little vampires on the world, you actually feel from the way he talks that he's someone to actually have emotions for, that he's someone to relate to and not just some monster to be killed at the end of the movie and instantly say "on with the next one." So, there's definitely something to be said for this film to have been continued and not revamped in the form of Dracula Untold or any of the other monster movies, with the exception of The Mummy of course. Also, I just want to point out that this one scene, with the operatic music, the acrobats hanging on the ceilings, the dancers, and just the overall aesthetic of this one scene made me want to literally run and hide in my room because it was so creepy, which means it was done right, and not overly done at all. Which is just perfect and I love every moment of it.

I feel some Royal Chappel of Castlevania Simphony of the Night vibes indeed...
I like Dracula's thinking. "I'll put all my vampires in one big room. It's not like Gabriel has some sort of big AoE vampire killer thing....oh seriously come on..."
James Riley
And I mean why would Gabriel? Its way back when technology wasn't too big a thing and even with some of hellsings tech, who would think he has something that advanced.
James Riley yes, but suprise is that that thing do not kills Dracula.
@Hitakari the Dracula is different than the other vampires. He’s the one, who made the deal with the devil, and is ”blessed” (or should I say cursed) by the devil. That’s why he doesn’t die by anything else than a werewolf.
I would giv everything to be at that partyy
Hitakari because of plot
I really love the costuming in this scene! They highlighted all the humans with bright, bold colors (Anna's red dress and the other dudes yellow outfit) while all the monsters are in dark, cool tones, (black for the vampires with a hint of red for Helsing's werewolf self). It was an exceedingly clever choice on the costumer's part!😊😏
This movie had cheesy moments, I admit. But it’s severely underrated. Dracula is amazing, the vampires are on pointe, and it’s just overall FUN. I had a great time seeing it in theaters with my parents and my brother; a good memory.
I am glad you enjoyed it .
Richard Roxburgh is definitely up there with Bela Lugosi, Gary Oldman and Christopher Lee as the best on-screen portrayals of Dracula.
Completely nailed the slavic accent and portrayed Dracula with the sexual charisma of a rockstar, perfect characterization.
And his jacket was badass, I always wanted that jacket
Not to mention Luke evans in untold
Not Slavic accent
@@PedroMartinez007011930522 That was awesome
Romanian ≠ Slavic. Apart from that you're spot on
So is nobody going to talk about the fact that Friar Carl killed the most vampires in this movie with that bomb he made?
The holy grenade.
Lighting 💡
Sun bomb, but yes.
I love Carl. The best comic relief.
The actor David Wenham also played Dilios in 300.
"The vampires outnumber us a paltry 500 to 3. Good odds for any friar."
Dracula has no business being this hot
100% Agreed
Ikr 😍
Foreal like let me tell you the things I’d let him do to me🤤❤️
Warren Ellis disagrees. Dracula in Netflix's Castlevania is one hell of a man, too.
Sir Christopher Lee. I'll see myself out.
This is best vampire movie why it has such a bad reputation :-(
Nope, Interview with a vampire, Dracula...I won't say twilight..lol

Gary Oldman's was way better.

This scene is a masterpiece and should be preserved for all eternity.

I love the DVD outake where Dracula says "Now that everything is as it should be, I give you....VAN HALEN!" 🤣
Yeah, I was laughing so hard at that
The Dracula in this movie is my favorite version. Egoistic, narcissistic. Full of flair and charismatic.

Ooh baby. When he said "this is not all I can do with your skin...."
I felt that.. 😍
Damn, that was good. I got a sexy chill from him.💖😍
Find someone who looks at you the way Dracula looks at Kate, and call the police, immediately!
Yup😍
Yeah 💖😍

The way Dracula chucks that fire-breathing performer into the air makes me giggle everytime.
Such a Kate Beckinsale thing to do 😂😂.
*finds closest weapon (medieval flail) and prepares to fight vampires despite being in a dress and still suffering from Dracula’s influence*
Dracula is hot asf tbh.

I love Van Helsing, I would watch it all the time, still do though, but did any one else wanted be part of the masquerade ball? I love Hugh Jackman and the way they made his werewolf transformation look so cool, especially when he fought Dracula it was unbelievable
Ladies and gentlemen. I give to you... VAN HELSING!!!!!
Or Van Halen. Bloopers are great for this movie.
LADIES AND GETS I GIVE YOU ..... Wolverine
Van Helsing. You murderer.

To the vampires, Van Helsing is a terrible monster
My boyfriend brought me here. He loves this movie, and this is his favorite part. He has such dark, refined taste, like the Count himself. 🥰💀🖤

So, are we not gonna address the fact that Carl obliterated hundreds of vampires with one shot?
Ikr! Even when I was little, I noticed this and that's why Carl is my favorite character. The motherfucker's a legend.
@Sylvester Quinn it took the entire mansion, also I think that there were more than 32 in the main hall
@@kevinbernardini1293 lol there were obviously MUCH more than 32. I don't know where the other guy got 32 from.
Sunlight grenade.
We also need to address the fact that there were children at this vampire masquerade ball…were they vampires too???
Anna was like "I'M GONNA FIGHT THEM ALL!"
While Gabriel was like "NO! WE RUN!"

( *shudders* ) okay. Who turned on the AC? It's cold in here!!
Fall in love 😂
GUYS, THEY SHOOT A VAMPIRE BALL IN A REAL CHURCH!!! Im still amazed by the idea who ever came to it! Also I never knew why this movie got so much hate... Horror with biggest budget to date, and they used that cash really good. Story was awesome. This one & the scene where van holds Anna dead by the moonlight in a tower are my faves... It really deserves more love, VAN HELSING FOREVER!
I will not forgive people who say that twilight has the best vampires and werewolves when this masterpiece exists.
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve rewatched this movie
I love this movie from my childhood 🖤 especially Dracula 🧛♂️
In the mirror Anna's the only one at the ball: BRILLIANT detail !! Brilliant movie... I love it.
Legends says Kate Beckinsale have never forgotten feelings of that kiss
Kate grabbing that chain mace instead of fleeing gets me every time 😆
Count Drac was MAADDD smooth with his words. He could’ve had me falling any day
Hello 🌹🌹
Türkiye
They accurately portrayed his powers of seduction, and the hypnotic nature of his voice. He had Anna about to let him turn her.
Hey
I just like this part in Van Halsing, the party with the costumes and mask is very wonderful and creative with the costume design. I wanted to see Transylvania some day if life ever get back to normal again. I like Van Halsing a lot, is a good movie to watch for Halloween beside anytime.
lol this location isn't anywhere in Romania
Which is just perfect and I love every moment of it.
admit it 2:52 was kinda hot, the way he just slid his hand in there so smooth like that, i really love this movie i really wish it would have been a sequel or saga of some sort, anna and van also could have had something special idk why she had to be killed loved her character.
I can never hear that song at the beginning without thinking of Addams Family. In fact, if I squint my eyes a little, I think I can see Gomez & Morticia in the crowd.
That's exactly what this scene reminds me of. I kept expecting them to dance the mamushka!
Can see them walking out afterward, covered in vampire ashes. "Mi amore, we must find more parties like that one."
The Addams Family would fit in well here.
I love how Anna was ready to take on a whole ball room full of vampires xD
God damn the bit where everyone goes all beastly when Dracula shouts "VAN HELSING!!!!" is extraordinary nightmare fuel 👏
Ladys and gentleman, i give to you VAN HELSING

Australian actors are very often underrated :/
I have to agree, this was a fantastic movie and very under rated by both audience and critics. Besides it being an outstanding homage to Universal horror movies of the 30's and 40's, it was great in its own right.

It's amazing how they find Vanhelsing an interesting and yet dangerous Human that even Dracula acknowledge his dangerous reputation as a demon and vampire Hunter
I JUST noticed at 2:17 - THERE IS NOBODY IN THE MIRROR. That little bit is extremely well done.
I thought this was a really underrated movie. Very entertaining. The actor who played Drac did a great version of him.
I can watch this movie 7 days a week ... pure magic 😱
This movie needs to be preserved in the United States film archives, It's such a classic
The scenes creeped me out when I watched in theater back then! It really made you glued on your seat 😍😃 The anticipation. Great cast, great costumes, editing. I miss this early 2000's-types of thriller. Even 90's. Now too many superheroes with weird storylines 😕
