Excellent play! From South Africa
As soon as I heard the voices of the two main characters I knew I was in for something really great, it was so good & very moving.
I loved everything that Anne Bell appeared in she was always wonderful. Peter Jeffery played Oliver Cromwell in a TV drama series, he was superb as he was in everything else. Thank-you so much xx
Excellent story and well acted. I love these plays, makes whatever task you are doing seem easier and more enjoyable.
Absolutely fantastic
Love the voices...different times...probably far better times🤔✌️🏴
Much as I love music, I agree that I can't now imagine doing the chores withou a radio play plus my Bluetooth headphones
Vintage drama cannot be beaten.
Yes.... as good as vintage nostalgia.
BBC Saturday night Radio 😃👍 only just discovered them. Thank you for the uploads. So well written stories.
I’m so used to and enjoy reading murder mysteries, I kept listening for the surprise, the twist. This is a compelling listen, a character driven procedural story with a straightforward plot. No twists.
So was I.
Really enjoyable. Vintage radio plays are so much more appealing than current ones.
Too right. These days Elinor would kill Paul and be acquitted on account of emotional abuse. She would then realise that Myra had been just as exploited and they would end up as an item.
Thank you for such a wonderful play, thoroughly enjoyed this.
What a tradegy, and such a waste Mr Preston resorted to such desperate measures only for a short time of happiness.
Different times , different era.
I love these audio dramas! Rather listen to them than watch stereo-type serials n movies!
Me too!
Me three 🤗
They are a real mixed bag. Some a bit weak but others really great with very professional radio acting.
I loved listening to this play. Thank you so much for uploading 👍

That was a very tragic play but nonetheless, worth listening to.
Good listen, I really enjoy these deamas
Dramas
@@hymatwat9412 it’s a typo. Get over it gramps.
Brilliant
she sounds like my Mother, a nag and hypochondriac who lived to101 years.
So happy I subscribed 😀👏👏👏👏🇬🇧
This was good enough to prevent me sleeping.
The music at the end reminds me of the old Hovis commercial from the 70’s.
I loved this one. Thank you.
It must be an older play bc the accused received his punishment (hanging). A play (or movie) today would find the accused receives a pardon from the Governor.
Thanks for no description of the play, plus the many, many links to hear more of same
Yes
Loved this so much thanks but i hate Mrs brisscol!!!!!😢
Great play; just curious why Oxford bells were used
Well acted but totally straightforward and cliche ridden.
And predictable.
@@RootlessNZ I agree. It was well-acted, but what was the point of it? Man loved colleague; man hated wife; man killed wife; went on the run; tried; convicted; hanged. "Just for our time together"? A few snatched days here and there? If we were supposed to think this was a grand passion, they were too suburban to be convincing. This was no Brief Encounter. It seemed flat throughout and really petered-put when it ended.
Thank you. I did not guess the ending😕
The appealing Myra falling in love with the insipid, feeble and neurotic Paul?
Good play, the wife was an absolute pain in the neck but his behaviour was rather ridiculous😮
what a great film this would be! but all the great actors who id choose, are regrettfuly dead.
Well acted but very disappointing. How was this nearly the perfect crime?
📻🎙👨👩🦰THIS IS NOT A COMPLICATED DETECTIVE DRAMA BUT A DRAMA THAT IS EASY TO FOLLOW AND NOT TO TAXING ON THE BRAIN I ENJOYED IT THANKS
