Hey guys, I'm now on Patreon, where you'll find many tutorials, lessons & more ! Thank you very much !

My grandpa was in a band and I went through his stuff recently and found a original 1965 super reverb
Wow, incredible ! Fantastic amp.
I am blessed to still own my 1964, which I bought brand new at around this time, 60 years ago ... (March 2, 2024)
This tone! Bye bye kidney! Have to get an original super.
Really nails that SRV feel
You almost have that SRV tone. Awesome!
His tone is untouchable haha, it's in the fingers 😂 but us mortal can try to get as close as we can !
great sound brother and fantastic guitar playing. You have found the perfect combination. The search is almost over
Thank you very much 😊✌️🔥
The nuances are clear...powerful...thanks
Add 25% + tone , 1st blackface circuit bias , 2nd pull channel 1 tube , 3rd pull tube #5 vibrato , this gets the hold back out of amp , next Vol 7 1/2 trebel 7 1/2 bass 2 Reverb little over 2 , 808 ts drive 8 Oclock tone 5 Oclock level between 4.30 to 5.30. 11s strings w/ 19 g . And a GBrittian GB rectifier tube . Your there. Got to clear vibrato out of circuit , those Evm s bring back a lot of the focus , bottom , relax mid 3/4 highs and a lot power . Cool video
You know that numbers don’t mean much on two different amps with different pots etc
I’ve tested many and seen big variations in resistance
-+20% tolerances were the norm
Sounds Great. Love your playing. I recently bought a Super Reverb "65" Reissue. I've always loved the Super. Now I have one. Thanks and Best Regards for the New Year. Keep Playing & Posting.
Thank you and congrats for your amp ! Wish you a good and sweet new year as well, thank you !
Early ‘68 blackline Super Reverb. I have the exact same amp. Best 800$ I’ve ever spent.
$800 is definitely a good deal ! One of the best amp ever made !
I love your simple but very helpful videos! Your‘re my reference tone, I dial in my amps. ❤
Thank you very much ! ✌️✌️
the cranked tone at full guitar volume is still really clean!
Yes, it's a mix between a natural organic overdrive and a lot of clarity at the same time. Never had a pedal that was able to emulate that haha !
@@tallegtoussaint well it's kinda like a pre edge of breakup sound, the distortion is just coming from the speaker overloading, a boost pedal into a very clean amp would do the same thing
@@tomholderness9419o not at all. Cranked amp cant be compared with a clean amp + OD pedal. Clean amp + OD pedal is like shit with whipped cream on compared to a cranked vintage amp. Sounds nothing like it at all
@@alexanderdale8394I agree with you 100% about an overdrive into a clean amp, but he didn’t say OD into a clean amp, he said boost into a clean amp. A clean-boost into an amp just *drives the amp* harder, without adding any pedal distortion itself. Totally different than what you’re talking about.
Jesus… That is amazing
Thank you 😊✌️✌️
absolutely fantastic !!!!!! Wow!!!!! So good...great playing and incredible tone!
Thank you very much 💥😊
Amazing tone, great as always
Thank you 😊
Amazing tone Bro, beautiful playing,
Cranked means on 10?
@@sonnysilversmith2156 thank you ! Around 7/8 on volume 😉
That is amazing tone!
Thank you Jimmy !!
Very good player, better than me. The thing i like about the Strat is that when you are good, you can't help sounding like Stevie Ray. The amp is wonderful!
Thank you very much ! Stevie is obviously one of my biggest influence and I can't hide it haha !
Very nice sound
Thank you very much !
Great sound and playing
Thank you very much !
Sounds great!
That's the exact tone for the 007 theme!
It is ? I didn't hear that hahaha
@@tallegtoussaint The guy that played it is called " Vic Flick" and he actually played a white 60s rosewood fret strat!
Id try that in Church Praise Team, but ive been reprimanded for FAR less lololololololol
Hahaha that's definitely not a good idea 😂😂😂
Nice playing brother! Great amp too.
Thank you very much 😊🔥
Had the same amp, 68 and all for years and was one amp I wish I still had for that clean tone. I feel the SR is Fender's best sounding amp.
The Super Reverb is their best amp to me as well. Such a great machine.
Two-Rock classic reverb signature is like Fender Super Reverb on steroids.
I have that exact amp. At that volume it will blow plaster off the walls, insanely loud!
Indeed it is haha ! I always wear earplugs when I play at such volume. Ears are way too important to mess with them 👍👍👍
This is a drip edge black lines. I have the same amp and same year. When i crank it (volume to 10) with the ps attenuator it gets overdriven but not a lot. Your sound remind me a lot my amp BUT much better played my friend!
Thank you very much for the kind words haha !
I find the sweet spot for this amp being between 6 and 8. After that it starts to get a bit too muddy for me, even with the bass below 2.
8 on the volume, a good fuzz, guitar volume rolled down a hair and here it is, THE tone hahaha !
@@tallegtoussaint by the way, in the fenderguru web, there are some super easy mods that made my amp sound better to me ear. If you haven’t yet, take a look to the web!
D R E W L ! !
you are too good...
Could you make a video on your pickup height and how it influences your tone? It would be nice if you did, cuz your tone is among the best on youtube!
Strat setup tips for a great tone in general would be awesome! I have a new Fender American Vintage II and could use some guidance of a great strat player like you!
Hey, thank you very much !
About the pickups height, I set them quiete low, closer to the pickguard than to the strings, but every pickups set is different so there's no rules on pickups height 😉
About the strat setup, I have a fairly high action, it definitely helps a lot to have a bigger, more open sound and I find it is easier to play once you're used to it.
Fairly high action with your intonation properly set and you're good to go 💥👍😊
@@tallegtoussaint do you still have a lot of sustain this way? Because I lowered my pickups and now it seems I lost a lot of sustain
@@BeastZzGhostZz yes, I'm happy with the sustain, no complain lol
How can you ever go wrong with a old cranked fender tube amp and a strat. Just add a little reverb and its the best sound ever
No matter how much do i need that sound but it's impossible to C R A N K with this volume at my place😂
Yeah, that's the problem with those monster amps. I'm lucky enough to live in the middle of nowhere, can push the amp as loud as I want anytime of day and night haha !
what about an Tone King Ironman II Attenuator?
Great choice but price is. . .🥲
@@Arm.Wsuper reverbs can be had for deals sometimes if you look hard enough and go for player grade or natural relics
Greatness! Curious, was thar audio just what you got from your phone mic? Sounded great
Thank you ! Yes, sound is taken by my phone and nothing else 😉
What brand/model pickups do you have bro,
again beautiful talent and tone,
that groovy bottom melody at the very end you must elaborate more on a next video…the groove @ the last ten seconds of this video. Cheers Bro.
from Az
Thanks a lot ! It's in the description, pickups I used here are the Mark Foley 63' set 😊✌️✌️
We need a comparison A / B with the sapphire!!😍🥰
I could do that but they're not the same amp so obviously it wouldn't be a significant test, EQs are different, etc.
@@tallegtoussaint I understand that you re right but for those like me who want the super reverb sound but don't want to mess with the repairs etc issues that a vintage amp has, it would be nice to know how close to this sound we can get with the Sapphire. Kindest regards, keep going!!!
@@MultiVg13 I'll work on it 😉👍
Nice! DO you know where I could buy one of these beautiful amps?
Thank you ! Try Reverb or eBay 👍
Great playing and tone! Is the amp stock or has it been modded?
Thank you ! The amp is completely stock, exept for the tubes of course and the speakers. Original filters were tired, as well as a few caps and resistors inside but other than that, all the guts are here since 1968. Blue molded stuff and all, everything working perfectly.
👏👏👏
✌️✌️🔥
Damn youre good! How long have you been playing?
Thank you very much ! It's been around 10-11 years ✌️
Can you do a lesson on that repeating slide lick at 1:25
How do you set your amp EQ for this great sound pls? Thanks
3:44 5:08
hello !! any modificationss on the super reverb? thanks for the mazing demonstration !!
Hey ! No mods at all 😉
@@tallegtoussaint thanks a lot, I try to find this amp😁
Yup. Pretty classic tone! ❤
Treble bleed in strat?
Yes ✌️😊
@@tallegtoussaint Which treble bleed do you use Talleg ✌🤘
but what are the TMB knobs on?
What's your eq like for this tone?
Do you use an attenuator? That amount of volume is insane
No attenuator used this time 😉✌️
Nice playing. Sounds great, but ,just be really LOUD!
Great sound. But the human ear will only stand so much, and then the crickets come and they never leave ...
I got the crickets😢
How to find a beat up fender like yours?
Reverb, eBay, music stores, etc 😉
If you can, always try before buying !
Have had several Supers Reverbs: Blacks/Silvers and even a 59 Tweed 2/10. The late 60's/70's were the best sounding IMO. Peace
I've never tried a tweed but a lot of early/mid/late 60s Fenders, Vibroverb, Deluxe, Super Reverb, etc. And very often I prefered the late Blackface, and even more, the Silverface version of those amps.
Just a personal preference though, they are all great hahaha
Are you using a variac? Does your strat have a treble bleed?
Nope, export model👍
Thank you!
What kind of speakers do you have in your super?
EVM10M 😉👍
soooo you won't be needing that 68 Super Reverb anymore? ;P
It will stay with me for now 😂😏
@@tallegtoussaint 😎
what pickups are you using
It's in the description 😉
Mark Foley 63
ha ha c'est la branlée je me régale.
Merci beaucoup 😂
Your noodling sounds like you're _at least_ 65 years old
(not an insult, a lot of the best guitarists are from that era --- it's just surreal to see a young guy nailing these boomer licks)
Thanks a lot, I guess 😂✌️
string gaugh?(==
11 to 54 👍
Nice sound indeed. The reverb might be ''a bit'' over the top though😉
Thank you ! That's how I like to set my sound 😉
Well it is a super reverb
@@tallegtoussaint that's personal, for example, i loved the reverb hahaha
@@ramonzapien3098 you have a point 😂
@@zillmer448 thank you 🔥🔥
how tough are you ears?! I'd be deft at that level of volume in the room.
I always ALWAYS wear earplugs man, I'd even say it's my absolut golden rule.
@@tallegtoussaint :) good idea.
How can you even be in the same area code as a cranked Super without ear protection lmao this is very dangerous for your hearing... But hey, makes a great YT video at least for us ;)
You're 100000% right, and be sure I wear earplugs, they're tailormade for my ears and in silicon so you can't see them but I never ever play at this volume without wearing them, my God 😂
@@tallegtoussaint Oh my bad, some people don't seem to care about hearing damage, so i preach the word lmao Great playing by the way
Great tone except reverb doesn't mix well with high volume, IMO.
