Hi Mark, I've been watching the channel for a while now. Love the down to earth honest approach, no dressing it up, just saying it like it is. Finding a good plumber can be really hard. I'm an expat in France and finding reliable plumbers and other trades can be a real struggle. Keep up the great work. You deserve every success. Looking forward to seeing the finished bathroom, you'll be a happy man once it's finished.
That is a Dudley Vantage cistern you removed. It is very easy to replace the flush valve without having to remove the cistern. Simply unclip fill valve so it will go up a bit Then twist flush valve off cradle and one can then pull up and out flush valve completely. I have replaced the flush valve in about 10 minutes
I did that and the lugs on the syphon snapped off. I did get a new syphon in though. My leak was however on the flush pipe which has gone brittle and a piece has broken off! All toiled in too!
Great job with the cistern mark they can be a right pain them especially buried behind a tiled wall. Don't know if your aware of it but toilet cisterns are classed as a fluid category 3 risk and should have a double check valve fitted since they got rid of the jonnys on float valves and introduced these silent fill float valves that sit in the water there is an increased chance of toilet cistern chemicals such as blue loo and cistern blocks back symphoning into the household water supply. Had it happen on a job last week as the woman of the house is obsessed with bleach.
Great stuff mark 👍👍👍 Absolutely nothing wrong putting different brand fitting on plastic pipe. As long as it’s the correct insert I’m sure all the pipe is the same BS number
Hi Mark, the bathroom is coming on a treat now, the brick replacement was an excellent job too. An interesting job with the enclosed system, but it was all good in the end, well done. I am aiming to be at installer show on Wednesday all being well and looking forward to it. Another great film as always, thank you, have a great week at the show, take care, regards, Chris.👍👍👍
Pretty sure hardi recommend put thinset down first then screwing down in marked places on board ...but if your method works with no issues then all good 👍
Hi mark, could you make a video for us apprentices who are coming to the end of our apprenticeship a video on how to start our own company and maybe some tips and things to expect
Brilliant work again mate, the bathroom coming on nicely 👏 that pump shouldn't be fitted on it's back as it ruins the bearing well they used to 10 years ago 😀 keep up with the honest hard and awkward sh t your up against every day 👍
You know what you were saying about stress, well I been planning a job for a week now and my mate has turned up pissed, still in saturday night clothes. I think my head is going to explode
Sorry to be negative Mark but the heating pump must only be fitted with the pump axle in the horizontal position , Not in the vertical as this will aid overheating.
Interesting…. I’ve heard this a few times, however you have the screw on the top for vent air from the top of the pump. Moving it round isn’t an issue as I’m back there soon anyway…. But interested to hear why, genuinely not had an issue having a pump this way when on horizontal pipe. But always open to infomation (I replied with “lol” as for some reason you put it at the end of your comment🤷🏼♂️)
@@tomheal2095 pumps cause cavitation which allows air to sit in the pump when facing upwards, over time this will limit the life of the pump and burn it out.

This one needed the whole lot changing, the ball valve was knackered aswell…..

Interesting mate, wasn’t mentioned on my recent G3 renewal course.
Great stuff mark 👍👍👍

Yep, I’ve never had an issue as long as it’s fitted correctly…. Just mentioned it before the fitting police came and arrested me🤣

Hey mark you need to start doing t shirts and hoodies with the saying ( I’ve never had an issue with it ) haha
Hahahaha 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great job but you need to turn the pump as if vertical you can run the bearing dry and more prone to air problems
All ready done mate….. 👍🏼👍🏼
Great mix of Jobs there pal 👍
Thanks Bryan
Hi mate love your videos, a quick question what mixer shower brands would you recommend?
Thanks buddy…. Aqualisa mixers are great
Enjoyable video again have a good time in the installers show
Thanks Glyn…. Will be recording the days in there so people can have an insight
How do you stop the flush pipe from leaking late on after the installation? Do you recommend silicone it up?
Fit a new flush cone to be honest mate👍🏼👍🏼
Another excellent video, thank you
Thanks Martin
Yes then Mark,
Smashed it as always 👊🔥
Did good with that cistern mate
Yes brother🙌🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼……. You heading to Installer mate??
Do the tilers not glue the backer board down first then screw aswell ?
Screwed down then sealed and primed before tiling…. You don’t need to glue it
Pretty sure hardi recommend put thinset down first then screwing down in marked places on board ...but if your method works with no issues then all good 👍

Hey Mctiff try the torrent comfort height cistern its 40mm less in height gives you a bit more play with the flush pipe TR9008
Ohh that’s handy to know 👍🏼
Great content Mark
Thanks Robert 🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Yep, this has been said all ready. Will be sorted as I have to go back this coming week for some bits…
Good stuff 👍
👍🏼👍🏼
Yes marky boy
🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I think you'll have to turn the pump ... it shouldn't be in a position where the rotor is vertical😁😉
😉
