I miss the way that Burger King used to make the Whopper. I remember when the Whopper used to have to be held with two hands, and it tasted like it was homemade.
I remember the Whopper from the 70s and 80s. I rarely eat fast food for medical reasons, but the Whopper today seems a lot different. It seemed larger back them, and the bun seemed softer.
Yeah I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it is a little smaller now. It used to really have a more back yard BBQ flavor. Thank you for watching theequalizer9154!

And it was a great value too. I remember the floors being a whole lot more messy because of that and I'm not quite sure Wendy's knew what they were getting into with that one. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience with the Super Bar!
You missed the KFC buffet. I remember as an assistant manager for KFC back in the early 90's we had to set up the buffet and keep it stocked til 8pm daily. We must have went through 45 full chickens a day along with all they sides to keep stocked.
Thank you for watching and mentioning that buffet. That is a great one that needs to be included and I definitely remember it. I guess it was done away with for the same reasons that Wendy's had?

8:47 Yes, it was discontinued, but you could still get Taco Pizza at Pizza Huts at least until the late 80's or early 90's so it stuck around for a while.
4:31 Around the same time as that went away, they got rid of ham altogether which eliminated several sandwiches including a favorite of mine, Arby's Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich.
The McDLT as a phenomenon was huge, the marketing it got was just crazy like the commercial with Jason Alexander. And I haven't thought of the Big Classic in years, I loved those back in the day, also I miss the Super Bar so much.
Thank you for watching and sharing some of your memories. I remember quite a few people getting the McDLT. I'm surprised that they haven't figured out a way to bring those back for a limited time like the McRib.
I enjoyed the punny jokes, Rhett!! 😂I miss the McB.L.T. It's one of my favorites. In color psychology, red, (especially), yellow, and orange stimulate appetite. Pizza Hut, with its once glaring red roof, would make you drool, hahaha!! The colors have changed to more greens and blues to suggest "healthier".
Now that you say that there are so many restaurants that are red and yellow for sure. That is interesting to think about how that happens with colors. Thank you for watching and explaining a little more to us Vicki!
I loved the Super Bar at Wendy's. That was the highlight of going there to me. I wasn't around for the Pizza Hut taco pizza, but I used to get taco pizza all the time at Ci Ci's Pizza. It was my favorite.
Before Covid there was a Pizza Hut that had a small buffet on Friday nights. It offered different types of pizza, salad, chicken wings, bread sticks and ........ apple pie pizza ....... the apple pie was actually very good. After Covid it never returned.
Seems like a lot of buffets disappeared during the pandemic and many of them have never returned. Some of the restaurants that had them even closed around here. Thank you for watching Brian.
I actually had the Bell (Burger) at Taco Bell one time when the family was having a fast food Friday night dinner and LOVED it! I wasn't in the mood for tacos or burritos that night! Never had one again after that!
It had to be somewhat popular since they had it on the menu for so long. I'm kind of surprised that they did not bring it back with their recent decades menu options. Thank you for watching jons.6216!
Thanks Rhetty. I remember the McDonalds pizza and you ordered and were then told to park in the waiting area and they would bring it to you. It did taste good though. 😊😊🎄🎄
It's a crime that Taco Bell didn't bring back the Bellbeefer as part of their recent Decades promo. Also, I'm sure you could get a whole video just out of the long list of "we need to try to cater to the adult market" burgers that have come and gone at McDonalds.
It is funny to think about how many options that McDonalds has had and then disappears. I have touched on that a little in a video all on McDonalds but I know there are a lot more. That Bellbeefer would have been great for that Decades promotion. Thank you for watching!
What I miss you didn't highlight but it appeared in a few of the Taco Bell ads: the Enchirito. That with a side dish of the Frijoles? Man, that was good.
Burger king had the ADULT whopper that was supposed to taste more like charcoal grilled. Tasted like meatloaf.... The McDLT kind of lives on in the quarter pounder deluxe. Taco bell tacos used to be big. Like 3 times the current size. Im partially responsible for Wendys dropping the super bar. They had vanilla and chocolate pudding and, well, it DID say all you can eat......
Del Taco and Baker's (a Southern California chain) have taco burgers and I was at Taco Bell the other day and they have chicken nuggets now but no tostadas...
I actually liked the McDLT. I wish they still had it these days. I also like the McLean Deluxe. Taco Bell's Enchirito (sp) was also good; I think they brought it back for a short time recently. I seem to remember a layered pizza from Pizza Hut, but that is a bit foggy to me. On a side note, Google "Yoda's Big Boy". Yes, it is an actual place thst existed before the little green jedi master. Well, at least as far as I can tell. It would make a great t-shirt!
What a great name on a Big Boy restaurant. There were a lot of different ones but I never knew there was a Yoda one. That McDLT was a popular menu item and I'm really surprised they haven't tried to bring that back for a limited time like the McRib. Thank you for watching and telling us a little more Greg!
the pizza that was available with the superbar was great. I remember my dad telling me how difficult it was to maintain it. wendys was a family staple for us since my dad would get the food for free. if anyone remembers the old cookies from wendys they were in a plastic packet and they were soft and chewy and big chocolate chips and they tasted great frozen or warmed up.
I'm sure if the Oreo pizza was retitled as an Oreo cookie-cake it would have done better. Because other than maybe the crust there was nothing pizza about it. When someone thinks of pizza they instantly default to tangy savory tomato sauce, flaky crust, cheese and all kinds of tasty meats & veggies. Not a giant sugar laden cookie.
They are definitely different. I'm kind of shocked on the waffle tacos. A lot of people in the U.S. love chicken and waffles with honey or syrup drizzled over the top. Maybe they just needed to add chicken as an option. Ever had that in Australia Jodie? Thank you for watching!
That Burger King Whopper-rrito sounds really good. I never heard of it though. I vaguely remember the McDonald's Chopped Beafsteak Sandwich, and I absolutely loved the Wendy's SuperBar. Every time we went to Wendy's I would just order that. I wish they'd bring it back.
As someone who doesn't eat meat, most of these weren't on my radar. The fast food item I miss is side salad! No one seems to have them anymore, at least not in my area. Baked potatoes are harder to find as well.
I think Wendy's might be the last place that offers a baked potato. Salads just aren't popular enough for many fast food places. Thank you for watching kerrid.979!
The McDLT was McDonald's best burger and the Whopper was great when it was actually a whopper. Remember the commercial it takes two hands to handle a whopper?
The McDLT was a great idea and I'm shocked they haven't figured out a way to bring it back even if it is for a limited time. It does seem like the whopper is smaller now doesn't it? Thank you for watching!
I miss the BK Broiler… I worked at a Burger King and that’s what I had for lunch every damn day 😂. Sometimes I would make it with the ranch sauce as it was sold, but my favorite way to do it was with barbecue sauce, onions, and cheese…. And now I want one! (Burger King actually stole my idea and sold it as the BK Western for a while, but it didn’t stick-and no, I never saw a dime for the idea lol.)
That might be something you want to try and order if there is a Pizza Hut near you. Someone in the comments said that their Pizza Hut still offers it. Thank you for watching trgwv8120!
A few years ago, Burger King had a limited run of pulled pork sandwiches. They were soooooo good. I wish they'd bring them back. I also remember back in the 80s both KFC and Captain D's tried selling burgers. They weren't that good.
Thank you for calling Little Caesar's. Would you like to try our Meatsa Meatsa Pizza Pizza? I worked a summer there and would have to answer the phone at times.
@RhettyforHistory Whatever you do, Rhett, don't watch this movie (you'll hate it), but there's a movie from the 70s called Pink Flamingos and in it the main character (played by the drag queen Divine) ate dog crap at the end of the movie. It was gross.🤮
I do remember that one. I'm kind of surprised that one didn't come back recently with their decades selection. The Meximelt is one of them I know. Thank you for watching and letting us know what you would like back.
I prefer burgers on freshly baked, seedless buns with crisp julienne fries and my drink in a cup with no top so I can sip it at the table. If I'm eating at home, no cheese so I can apply real cheese at home. Also, I can always get my drink at home.
I miss the way that Burger King used to make the Whopper. I remember when the Whopper used to have to be held with two hands, and it tasted like it was homemade.
Didn't they advertise it that way, that you needed two hands to eat it?
I remember the Whopper from the 70s and 80s. I rarely eat fast food for medical reasons, but the Whopper today seems a lot different. It seemed larger back them, and the bun seemed softer.

Whole fast food restaurants that have come and gone. Not just the food items but the whole restaurant itself! 😢
Yes it is sad to see many of them go. I have covered some but there are so many others. Thank you for watching my friend!
I have fond memories eating a delicious Big Mic from McDowells.
Thank you for watching one7decimal2eight!
Love the Eddy Murphy reference
I enjoyed the punny jokes, Rhett!! 😂I miss the McB.L.T. It's one of my favorites. In color psychology, red, (especially), yellow, and orange stimulate appetite. Pizza Hut, with its once glaring red roof, would make you drool, hahaha!! The colors have changed to more greens and blues to suggest "healthier".
Now that you say that there are so many restaurants that are red and yellow for sure. That is interesting to think about how that happens with colors. Thank you for watching and explaining a little more to us Vicki!
@@RhettyforHistory Thanks, Rhett. 😊Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! ✨✨🌲✨✨
I loved the Super Bar at Wendy's. That was the highlight of going there to me. I wasn't around for the Pizza Hut taco pizza, but I used to get taco pizza all the time at Ci Ci's Pizza. It was my favorite.
The Super Bar was a great concept at a great value to the consumer. It's a shame that it is no longer around. Thanks for watching!
Merry Chridstmas Rett and to your staff and everyone in the Rhettynation.
Merry Christmas to you as well! I appreciate you always watching and commenting!
Thanks Rhetty. I remember the McDonalds pizza and you ordered and were then told to park in the waiting area and they would bring it to you. It did taste good though. 😊😊🎄🎄
Thank you for watching and sharing your memories of the pizza. I'm tempted to try one in Orlando just to see what I think.
I loved the McDLT, Burger King's Burger Buddies, Burger King's Italian Chicken Sandwich.
Thank you for watching and sharing some of the items you loved Engineersoldiers_Spiritof76_21!
Some of these items apparently came and went so fast that I never heard of them. Thanks Rhetty.
Some were definitely gone in a flash and a few of these could have been regional. Thank you for watching Jeff!
What I miss you didn't highlight but it appeared in a few of the Taco Bell ads: the Enchirito. That with a side dish of the Frijoles? Man, that was good.
That was definitely a big one. Thank you for watching and mentioning one you miss SpencerDidWhat!
I don't think Wendy's knew what they were getting into and they weren't ready for it. Thank you for watching and sharing some of your memories Kirk!
I miss the Kentucky Fried Chicken little bucket parfait dessert. They were so good! Well, at least to a child in the 1980s they were good.
Thank you for watching and sharing your memories of those LIMEROCKVIDEO!
Happy Joe's taco pizza was the best if not first. Good video!
That sounds like a great pizza! I have never had Happy Joe's. Was that a chain or something local where you are? Thank you for watching!
Del Taco and Baker's (a Southern California chain) have taco burgers and I was at Taco Bell the other day and they have chicken nuggets now but no tostadas...
Thank you for watching James!
“Avoid the Noid”......well he’s no longer around to avoid. If you know, you know.
I do remember that ad campaign from Dominoes. Thank you for watching!
Thankyou for sharing the awrsome videos
I loved the Mc D Lt, it was my favorite store bought burger ever. Merry Christmas, to you and your's
The waffo-taco photo looks like something that is X-Rated.
Waffle tacos, Oreo pizzas, bacon sundaes etc, etc no wonder these foods didn’t last. 🤮
Thanks Rhett. ❤Jodie 🇦🇺…. Hi Paul 👋😁🎄🇺🇸
@@swansfan6944 👋😁🇦🇺
There is definitely a lot of definitions of pizza in America. New York, Chicago, Detroit, Hawaiin etc.
@@RhettyforHistory lots of pizza 🍕 varieties here.
@@kerrid.979Wendy's still has baked potatoes. They're pretty good!
I miss fast food items that I can afford. Does that count?
Absolutely! Thank you for watching my friend!
Anybody out there remember when Kentucky Fried Chicken had a deal? It was called Corn and Cluck for under a buck.
That is kind of catchy! Thank you for watching and mentioning that promotion.
When they came out with the pizza with hot dogs in the crust I realized the whole world was high.
Haha! I understand. Thank you for watching!
McDonald's has a long history of weird, experimental menu items. Look up the McSpaghetti, or the Hula Burger
Absolutely! I have a video that features those two and many more. It's on McDonalds alone. Thank you for watching!
I remember driving to the McDs that had the pizza. It was alright & the price was $2-$3 range.
I have no idea what it is now in Orlando. Thank you for watching and sharing your memories of it Steve!
Hey that Pizza Hut, Taco Pizza looks amazing. I wish I could go and order one today. I bet it was delicious. I love taco pizzas.
That might be something you want to try and order if there is a Pizza Hut near you. Someone in the comments said that their Pizza Hut still offers it. Thank you for watching trgwv8120!
McDLT had another interesting fact. It's first commercials featured a young Jason Alexander ie Seinfeld's George Costanza
You're right about that.
A few years ago, Burger King had a limited run of pulled pork sandwiches. They were soooooo good. I wish they'd bring them back. I also remember back in the 80s both KFC and Captain D's tried selling burgers. They weren't that good.
I miss the Wendy's super bar, and Little Caesars used to have sandwiches. They had a veggie one that I loved.
Thank you for watching and sharing what you miss justmejenny7986!
We were too poor to eat out much, so I remember these, but never tried them.
I understand. They are not cheap. Thank you for watching aariley2.
Thank you for calling Little Caesar's. Would you like to try our Meatsa Meatsa Pizza Pizza? I worked a summer there and would have to answer the phone at times.
Sounds like that greeting is forever engrained in your memory. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience at Little Caesars.
You say you can't put bacon on a dog turd and expect someone to eat it. Say that to Divine.😂
You'll have to help me out here Shannon. Who is Devine? Thank you for watching!
@RhettyforHistory Whatever you do, Rhett, don't watch this movie (you'll hate it), but there's a movie from the 70s called Pink Flamingos and in it the main character (played by the drag queen Divine) ate dog crap at the end of the movie. It was gross.🤮
I wish taco bell would bring back the chilito, haven't had one since the 90s
I do remember that one. I'm kind of surprised that one didn't come back recently with their decades selection. The Meximelt is one of them I know. Thank you for watching and letting us know what you would like back.
What about the Enchurrito?
I prefer burgers on freshly baked, seedless buns with crisp julienne fries and my drink in a cup with no top so I can sip it at the table. If I'm eating at home, no cheese so I can apply real cheese at home. Also, I can always get my drink at home.
Thank you for watching and sharing how you like your meals there and at home!
