Thanks so much for the updated video. Everything went as instructed along with updating to 13.5.1.
Macbook Air 2012, i7, 8gig Ram, 1TB HD (OWC upgrade)
Runs smooth but wish there was a way to self-upgrade the Ram as I'm sure 16gigs would run smoother.

One more comment...while trying to install Ventura on an older iMac 2009, I kept having issues where the screen would show a mouse outline then an CD Rom outline, and the mouse was non functional and the install stopped. Found out you have to use an USB hub between the iMac's USB and the mouse and keyboard. After running to Walmart and getting the cheapest USB hub they had, the install is now working.

Thanks for the very good directions. I only have 4 gb of ram so I decided to only upgrade to Big Sur, not that it will make any difference. I don't do anything intense on this particular MacBook (mid 2012) so it should be ok. The other good thing is I'm still able to use the Windows I installed previously. So far, no issues.

@@ruelabrasaldo6789 Sorry - I didn’t have any of those problems. The only issues I had was when I tried to boot camp Windows on a couple of machines and it wouldn’t install. It had turns out it had nothing to do with this process - it was the SSD adapter I was using.

I was unaware Venture would work, I know you can install it on unsupported systems, but I was under the impression the 2012 MacBook Air was just too old.
I’m installing it right now, and I’ll let you know if I run into any issues.
This is my old Mac anyway, with no important data on it, so worst case scenario I format and go back to Big Sur.

It seems like its working fine with no major issues.
It lags a tiny bit but it runs way better than I would’ve expected.

I’ve installed Ventura on various MacBooks as old as 2012, both Air and Pro recently and had no noticeable issues. Had a few issues with Ventura on an old iMac but finally figured them out.

@@ruelabrasaldo5142 No issues whatsoever. I installed a new SSD with a SATA adapter and even used boot camp to install Windows on a separate partition, again, no issues. The new 2014 MBA didn’t like the adapter so much and I couldn’t install Windows but it took Ventura with no problems.

I’ve been using macOS Big Sur on my 2012 MacBook Air for a while, and it runs better than Catalina in my opinion, there’s no reason it should’ve been left out.
Have you had any compatibility issues with Ventura?

Hi Jordan. I've used a few time since after installing Ventura on my 2012 Macbook Air. I haven't run into major issues like freezing or crashes. However, some apps do take time to load. Another thing that didn't work for me was continuity camera.

I tried updating my 4Gb mid 2012 air to Ventura but was unable to boot it cause it ran into a problem on the last few steps when the "updater" threw an error about not being able to "prepare the update files" even though it was a clean install. Think this is because of the small SSD (128Gb)?
