    Im a vet frm Malaysia..the country in which the virus was first found and named and also we have eradicated the disease .Dr Pal, open air farming also increases the chances. Best to practice closed farming and avoid close proximity to fruit orchard and avoid eating fruits with bite marks or even suspicious of it.

      @@mahimapmohan9003 what do u mean kerala found first.haha..Please educate yourself before publicly embarassing yourself. The word nipah itself originates frm sungai nipah, a river in malaysia where the virus isolate was first . My lecturers were involved in this and I learnt frm them.Malaysia declared emergency in the late 90s and i remember this period vividly . It was a scary moment. Close to 1 million pigs were culled with the help of military. 250 cases approximately ...dogs on the farm too were culled. The infected humans were so pathetic.The prompt response frm the vet departmentand oublic health sector and also one health approach in the late 90s itself helped Malaysia in eradicating the disease. We no longer practice open farm system . All swine farms are closed and airconditioned and has a thorough filtration system with constant disease surveillance.

      @@mahimapmohan9003 also..kerala detected first case in 2018..
      We detected in 98 and eradicated 1999..24 years since we eradicated. I Hope the two countries would work together to gain insights as to how to eradicate the diseasw asap to avoid further fatalities..instead of ignorant comment like urs.

    I remember the last time you talked about Kerala. You took a research where people had a higher chance of colon cancer when they ate beef. And you used the usual stereotype that people in Kerala eat beef and you assumed the reason why people in Kerala are more susceptible to colon cancer is because they eat more beef. Bravo professionalism is at its peak. At least you spoke facts and gave valuable information in this video

    Northies and other southern states would fling aspersions on Kerala that why diseases such as Nipah always orginates every year in India. Little do they realize that every fatality due to any disease is recorded, accounted, and the statistics is shared across the national information forum.

      Well, it's over now. Our health professionals managed the case effectively. But, now it's all floods and landslides, especially in Wayanad, which is one of the major tourist destinations... Please pray for us!

    Why every virus starts from kerala in India, just curious

    • @ambilydileep3969
      @ambilydileep3969 Месяц назад +5

      It not necessary that everything started in kerala. It is getting first diagnosed in kerala. In case of nipah it's because kerala is very tropical. So there is a lot of tropical fruits . So fruit eating bats also present. And bats are primary transmitters of viruses.

      You should be thanking God that this happened in Kerala coz they have people with common sense and good health infrastructure which is preventing it from spreading. I can only imagine the nightmare if this outbreak happened in a state like UP or Bihar....

      @@rickroll1722 why u are comparing keraka with bihar by the way up is fastest growing state in India and soon will reach 5 trillions dollars economy Kerala is full of communists and ISIS terrorists like PFI so dont compare Kerala with other states we had better geography and better leader like yogi ji who is working hard to develop his state we are not slaves of other religions like u are just see what UP will become in next 10 years
