Never Gonna Give You Up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you - Rick Astley
With numbers, it's easiest to think it like this: If the noun is pluralized, don't use hyphen. If it's not pluralized, use it. For example, A two-YEAR-old child. YEAR doesn't change to YEARS, so use hyphen. He's two YEARS old. Here, the word "year" was pluralized and got an S, so don't use the hyphen.
Thanks a lot it is so......easy to understand after seeing ur video and also often i dont see english explanation videos but your English is perfect for me to understand consept
I'm begging everyone, to not use hyphens in the end of the sentence or leave unnecessary hyphens everywhere in their sentence, especially 14 year olds.
What about: "You know who is over there" and "You-know-who is over there"? In the first sentence the main verb is ditransitive and in the second the main verb is copular.
I'm pretty sure it is used to signify something, whether it is to signal an abrupt change or to set off a series within a phrase. You might want to do some research on dashes.
Sorry that this is a late reply, but both would make sense. For example, "twenty-one is my house number" would make sense in this case, because the noun is after the number, and it is compound. Also "My house is number twenty-one" would also make sense because the compound adjective is describing the noun.
Are these correct? "It's a kitchen-sink-type question." "That would be a limited, specialized-program kind." "This is a secondary market-type thing." "It's all garage sale type stuff." "She is considering teaching part-time." "The cost is $20 per 50 minute massage." I'm training in transcript proofreading and got tripped up by these examples in the practice transcripts 😅
But ma'm, let add an example... It's a beautifully decorated house.. I have seen this the phrase '' beautifully decorated'' without hyphen in the Oxford Dictionary... Why is it so? Please explain

Well-explained article
The example about the two-year-old child is a tricky one. What about He's an eighty-year-old man? "He's an ... old man" does make sense.
It makes sense grammatically, but the meaning changes when you remove the "two-year" part.
Well a man can't be 8 years old
@@farhanrais1409 He wrote eighty (80), this can be.
But taking away the part of eighty-years, change the meaning a bit because you are not being specific any longer.

How does it work with numbers?
My house is number twenty-one.
Twenty-one is my house number.
Do we use (-) in both examples or in none?
Patri
Sorry I think it is right
Sorry that this is a late reply, but both would make sense.
