Is this ruck clearing technique is still valid in today's rugby? A lil bit of lights here pls.

I think it's good, read the comment above by Daniel Joseph, he explained it pretty clearly

@@GameBoyll just wondering, because he teaches this technique 4 years ago. And nowadays, rugby concerned on player safety at the highest level. Hence my question. But if it is still a valid technique, then yeah I can teach it to the boys.

@@toyedesuka I believe it has no affect to the law change, as it doesn't have contact near the head area and he still uses arm to remove the rackler but the arm is more tucked in to have stronger contact point for more solid and effective rucking.

this is illegal, you can injure players going in with the shoulder and no wrapping. The same rule applies as making a tackle, go in tackle the player off.

no they shouldn't "sunshine". I loved the fact that they use to do this
to clear out the ruck, but thats when they weren't trying to hurt each
other. In today's game the way its played, players are just wanting to
hurt each other, they will end up rucking each others head.
I watched plenty of recent games, Rugby Championship even Super Rugby
where players were flying in with the shoulder to clean out the players
and getting penalized because it's dangerous, exactly how Dave is
showcasing here, only in game.. its at full speed. It's practically a
shoulder charge with no arms, which is illegal and dangerous anyway.. Players should wrap and
tackle the player off, not shoulder charge them.

everybody blows out a ruck leading with you shoulder, O'Brien, Pocock, Cane, fwds backs,

    • @adamf8837
      @adamf8837 6 лет назад +4

nope, your'e allowed to lead with the shoulder, however you must use an arm just like a tackle. One must also keep on their feet and avoid contact with the opponents head.
In Rennies example his hand is still in contact with the opponent and as such is not illegal.

Typical, this a good example of clearing the ruck. Arm in close to body and shoulder in the rip cage and drive with your legs. Quick feet into the space, equals clean quick ball.
