AWESOME STUFF 👍🏻
As an adoptee, I've recently discovered that my birth dad worked on the waltzer for a number of years. It's great to see this as a glimpse into how he would of worked! 👍
I saw them set up for the CNE one year wan we went up to my moms friends cottage up in north Ontario.
Great comment Rick Holmes. These people (traveling showmen) certainly aren't thick people. They have to run and maintain all this equipment, including the transport too! These guys have more money than most people who go to work 9 to 5 every day. I think that the people who slag these guys off are people who are jealous.
I'd love to be able to buy my own machine and go out on the road with these chaps.
Very interesting. You know I met my first proper girlfriend at the fair, she worked on one of the stalls. Took me back to her caravan one night, it was very girlie, all pink and lots of cuddly toys, that sort of thing.Well after we did the "dirty deed" so to speak, and as it was my first time, I asked her how I did. She said alright and I could pick anything from the bottom row!!
3:36 I didn't know Rob Beckett was a fair ground worker!
I sure miss doing the scooters. I ran them for farrow shows back in the day.
nice to see storeys speedway in the building!

The first music track of this video is called "Work" and it's by "Masters At Work"

I dont think id trust rides put together by those people.... they just like slid everything together! haha
This is in Great Britain
yep, as i said they're a strong and independant community. the people who say they steal and are dumb etc think that theyre all like that, when actually its the real gypsies that are good people. :)
does anybody know how much money these fair owners make?
@ElkhartFootball28 freakouts r 1 of the easiest to build up with about 3 2 3 or 4 men who know wat they r doin it takes abut 3 hours
Do these 'travelling showmen' have a perminent residence somewhere in the UK, or do they spend their life on the road in a caravan, travelling from town to town?
is this the rwland familay
Looks like 1950
it wasnt me saying that it was my brother on my account i dont know anything about the fair its non of my business
NOT Gypsies.....read the other comments!
Or perhaps modern day life (TV, Games Consoles, Cinema, Bowling, Skating, Internet etc.) has now crippled the traveling funfair community. Ever considered that option???
If people WERE educated, then they'd know the difference if they did some research instead of "assuming" !!
Well said. There are some really thick, uneducated people out there who need to do some research before shooting their mouths off!
Kmm
Pigbag!
Decent vid but thumbs down for that lousy music.
I agree.
Exactly my point! Uneducated!! If people WERE educated, then they'd know the difference between gypsies and showmen. Am I right? Yes I am. Thank you!
so what if the gypsies own the rides? don't paint them all with one brush. i find the gypsy and traveller community strong and independant.
Well you're a bit thick then aren't you?
TOSSER!
You're so WRONG, you uneducated clown!
