I just picked up my first safety razor. Bought a heson AL13 mild. I know its set at the desirable angle but I still have to get used to shaving with it. I must say, the shave I got was incredible. I can't go back to a regular cheap razor blade. I also ordered some stuff from Geo. Trying out different blades and what not. I won't even tell you how much money I have already spent. Not good. lol. I already have too many hobbies. But there is something about this style of shaving that I always loved. Its soothing and I absolutely love it. I used to watch my grandfather in Italy use the brush, puck of soap, safety or a straight razor when I was a kid. I can still smell the old school italian aftershaves
You''ll find that after you spend a small fortune, you'll end up with a few products that work for you most. Then just buy the blades in bulk and replace the cream every now and then, and your cost is not much at all for quite a while. My Feather 200 pack lasted years.
@@geofatboy I have some by Chiseled Face. TSE I just purchased recently. I recommend you try it. Also from goodFellas Smile I have not sure to say my fav. But I keep buying off and on. Zingari Man is good too. THE ROYAL scent is suppose to be leather wine and spices.
Man I’m subscribed to your channel for 4 years. Wtf? Every year you are looking younger and younger... no joke... are you drinking baby’s blood to stay young? 😂😂
That’s what I was thinking about the number. Still expensive for a 20 dollar bottle of unscented shave cream. Maybe they’ll come out with scented ones and I’ll try it. I do like my Henson mild about to try a feather blade in it tomorrow for the first time 🤘🏻😎💈🪒
Actually, just bought the Henson aggressive for the hell of it, I have the older medium version when they first came out. The updated rounded design is better and for me at least smoother.
The aggressive version does in my opinion and is more efficient than the older medium version but still comfortable. The updated rounded design makes it even easier to shave with.
That is SO MUCH lather in that bowl and brush, with the Henson Shaving Cream! I know my water is hard but it must be REALLY hard for there to be so little compared to you (same cream). 😢 I don't even bother applying it to my entire face anymore because of how quickly it dries out, just one side of my face at a time then each side of my neck. It's such a hassle! ☹️
@@geofatboy Hi again, so I tried with the filtered water as you suggested. I boiled it first before my shower to heat it, then poured it into my plugged sink afterward. I don't think it made much of a difference regarding how quickly it dried or how much lather I got out of it. 🙁
Alway enjoy your U-Tubes, does Shave Nation EVER? EVER? Run Sale On Simpson Brushes? Been wanting a T3, but a bit out of my P{rice Point? Keep the info flowing.
I love buying my supplies from shave nation but I recently just got the shave nation lathering bowl. like the one shown in this vide but in black and with the bumps, I gave it away to my friend. The base for me was just too small and my brush just felt so confined in there and the lather, if I was able to make it before I got pissed off using the bowl, the lather would just over flow. I just did not like it. I went back to using my captains choice bowl. its nice and big and it keeps the lather inside. GEO sorry brother.

You're going down the rabbit hole. 🤣
It will get even better after you complete more shaves. Thank you for your support!

I've had the Henson mild razor for over a year now, It's my favorite razor. I like the mild because I can do 3 passes and touchup with no problems.
I have the henson mild. Excellent shaver. I see no need for the medium or aggressive version.
gotta stick with what works!
Nice...I have that exact brush and it is being used now much more than my badger these days. Excellent brush.
Excellent Geo👍 Nice shave products. Have a good day.
Thanks Terry!
Great video 👍
Thanks! I appreciate it.
Sir I m from Pakistan, plz tell me which double edge blades good and I use Rockwell t2 gunmetal !
And your favorite safety razor plz!
How would you compare the Henson aggressive to the Mühle R89?
please review the viking single blade! it’s my first razor
We don't carry that one, but we have these: bit.ly/AllSafetyRazorsSN
Nice shave, enjoying yours videos as usual 😊👍 but no alum block? 😊👍
Looks like I left a step out of the process-I'll use it twice next time!

aggressive +++ seems to be removed from the henson lineup an not available anymore?

Nice shave Geo. Very crisp.
Which variant of the Henson do you prefer?
The one I'm using here- The Aggressive Version
Is there a difference between the first Henson and the redesigned one?
Yes, actually a few differences. I have a video on it-check it out.
Awesome 😮😮😮
Unscented usually means great for sensitive skin...
I now have more than 40 different shaving soaps, creams most from different businesses.
Do you have a fave?

Keep in mind, unscented usually means designed for sensitive skin. And a little goes a long way.
@ that’s fair atleast it’s not formulated like a cheaper sub 10 dollar shave cream

The newer ones are a nice improvement.
Can you try the Titanium version of the AL13 😎😈
I sure can: bit.ly/HensonTi22SN
I would've keep it just had it shaped up and shaved the neck only! look better with it then shaved and diyed to cuse mines starting to gray a lil
Does the Henson actually provide a close shave?

I have a "Dr Squatch by Henson" razor. Clearly, it is a mild razor. However, when used with a Feather blade I can get a close, comfortable shave.
Did you see me before and after?
@@OG_Jack I have the same razor. I love it

Maybe try using some filtered water from a Brita. it will make a world of difference in your lather!
@geofatboy Ooh, I have one, that's a really interesting recommendation, I'll try that, thanks!

Henson is fast becoming the "Microsoft" of razors - updates, updates updates! 🤣🤦
It’s a really good razor especially for beginners atleast the mild and the medium and aggressive are good for anybody especially the titanium
As Billy Joel says: "You may be right!"
mine has no markings. Just the Lot #

I used the new shaving cream. It was more like a lathered soap than a cream. It wasn’t my favorite. I won’t buy it again.
Did it lather like mine did?
