BUILDING A KOI POND IN MY BACKYARD PART 2

The work is definitely paying off, and this pond is really coming along. I hope you guys are enjoying the process of this pond build, I'm so excited to get this finished and be able to put my fish in!

For the bucket for the pump. When you spray paint with the texture paint do one coat second coat spray the sprinkle the sand on top of the wet second coat. Repeat 1-2 more times and you’ll get that bucket more hidden / blended

That's a koi punishment pond - you need at least 500 gallons for each koi fish.

How about a fluffy potted plant on top of the bucket? And another in front of the bucket! That would definitely hide it!

Good build. I ran into same issue with mine trying to hide the pump. Ended up taking a peace of pressure treated plywood and spraying it with can spray glue and throwing sand onto it to dry. Then I just layed it on top as a cover.

A painted/sanded cloth over the bucket would have made it seamless. Good job so far. Frogs come and go as we do, don't get annoyed by them.

Great idea to paint the bucket with textured paint! Pond is looking great and remember the koi will eat tadpoles and mosquito larva!

I would immediately add pond plants into the pond, parrots feather, papyrus plants, water lotus, some submergent plants like bacopa, hornwort, and brazillian pennywort.

You need to watch aqua scapes all wildlife will come to your pond. Frogs& tadpoil, birds,ex...life encouraging life! You will learn to love the sounds!

Also use salt to reduce the possibility of infections too. I use it in my goldfish aquarium.

You shouldve put soil and mulch instead of sand with some low plants. The pump without a box full of sponges will keep you cleaning it every few weeks, ADD the box- You can maybe use milkcrate if you cover its appearance with some floating lilis. Change out the smooth rocks in the water fall with high surface area rocks.
