but he was sort of right tho. Cristina needed to get her mind off of things for a bit and Derek helped her a lot. Mer deals with things (most times) by surgery but Cristina was different.
He didn’t need t. Meredith was wrong and Cristina needed time away. Meredith just wanted what she wanted. Owen was right here. Wrong 90% of the time but right this time
I also like how he brought up that "most people wouldn't tell the gunman to shoot them". Well, most people don't have to watch their best friend operate on their husband/significant other while someone points a gun at both of them - all while she's early in her pregnancy.
The way Meredith was dealing with depression and suicidal actions not so long before this, and then she has to hear all of this bullshit about being reckless and not being scared
Honestly Owen loves calling out people on their flaws, but as soon as he gets called out for his bullshit he wants to have a superior high ground and act like he’s better. I love Meredith in this scene for putting him in his place.
@@lilyoungtook she was actually. in her discussions with her therapist in earlier seasons, the doctor comes to a conclusion that her apparent non fear of death (ex: putting her hand in the patients chest during the bomb episode; volunteering to be shot so that derek can live) was a reflection of suicide tendencies
Eduardo Macedo I disagree just because she put her hand in the patients chest does not mean she had suicidal thoughts it could been an act of stopping the paramedic from blowing up the place bc they were sitting directly under a gas line which would of blown up the whole entire hospital yes I’m aware before Meredith put her her hand in that patients chest that she just learned that she had to move
@@lilyoungtook I do realize that, but it's not up to me to decide that. It was an established storyline, and it has an intimate connection with her mom, who also tried to commit suicide
Owen resented Meredith because he saw her as an obstacle who prevented him from get in control over Cristina, he yelled at Cristina that he should be her person and not Meredith, he didn't stop for one second and asked himself why Cristina chose Meredith and not him, in the end it all evolved around his ego!
No, Owen did not see Christina as an equal with equal right to fulfill herself. He expected her to adapt much more than he was willing to do himself and the fact that she refused became a gigantic pimple on his ego!
I mean he had a point, Cristina and Meredith always put each other first before there spouses. I would be in the same position as Owen if the person that I was supposed to love always put that same someone above me. However I do agree that Owen definitely handled this wrong, he instead of communication in a clearer way. He let his emotions clouded his judgement and get the better of him. However Meredith was being selfish, Cristina needed time, she was having breakdown in the O.R and couldn't operate. She needed more time and Meredith just kept pushing and pushing. Both of them had a point in the argument, both just handled it differently and in the wrong way.
@@haileyparsons3844 You have a point there but according to me this was an ego thing for Owen and not a question of love. Both Preston and Owen asked Christina why she would not let them love her. They could just as easy have asked her why she would not let them control her!
He was saying the right thing. In the seventh episode of the same season Cristina said that if it were anybody else other than Derek on that table she woulda left. And to make things worse Meredith told the shooter to shoot her instead of Derek. She IS reckless with her life; bomb in the body cavity, drowning herself in the bathtub and then that river, sympathize with a murderer, sabotaging her own career through Derek's clinical trial; no sane person does that. And it's highly inappropriate for her to shout at the "chief of surgery" in his OR based on their personal problems. I agree Owen and Cristina got married at the wrong time, but Meredith had no right to involve herself in their marriage, she can advise Cristina, yes! But not tell her what to do or make decisions for her.
Teniola Akeredolu-Ale but where didn’t and owen was right. Meredith just wanted things her way but Cristina truly needed time on her own and that’s what allowed her to come back. Owen was right
@@arushashekher6082 As a person who is also reckless with her life, Owen was just way too harsh about it. Most people don´t get how broken you have to be to do that kind of things. Owen was also never willing to understand Cristina and Mer friendship (he was right in this I´m not denying it, Cristina didn´t need what Mer did, but he was just too harsh), or anything about anyone. He is such a "Yeah, explain me what you think, I´m not gonna really listen tho". And the best example for that, is the abortion situation, or the way he just pulled Cristina into a marriage when she was clearly going through something, or how he cheated on her. I just can´t explain myself how Cristina forgave him, or how my favorite character ended with my most hated one.
Can I please take a second to say that Owen married Cristina immediately after a traumatic event?! Like it felt like he was doing it because he knew she was vulnerable and that always set off alarm bells in my head. And then he says Meredith is reckless? But sure propose and marry a person who clearly is in the midsts of a PTSD episode 🙄
Even on cristina's side, she said yes in an unstable state of mind and emotions, she was just scared to be left alone so she said without giving it a second thought, am a big crowen shipper but their whole marriage was so unsuitable at that time and they paid for it later
Hmmmmm... I hate Owen more than any other fan but I don't think his intent was to put a rock on her finger BECAUSE she was vulnerable. I think he did it as a way to prove that she was not alone and that she was safe, which is what they both thought she needed. Good intention. Shitty outcome.
@@daesgatling1345 she was literally stranded in the woods for days and got married like weeks afterwards when she was barely back to work. I'm not wrong for thinking that's not the best time to make major life decisions
I don't think they should have gotten married. I ship Owen and Cristina but it was bad timing. She said yes bc she needed Owen like really needed him. I understand both Owen and Merediths side but Meredith is just looking out for her person..
Did yall see Meredith's reaction at 0:41 of Owen saying "You're reckless with your own life". She knew exactly what he was talking about. She knew he was talking about the fact that she offered herself up to the gunman in order to save everyone's life. I think that Owen's comment was uncalled for, tbh. Edit: did yall hear Kevin's scottish accent slip out near the end when he said "She isn't you, Meredith"
Meredith is reckless?! Actually she is brave and supportive. She cares about Cristina and she cared about Derek during the shooting. Her husband's life is more important than hers. This is what true love is! Owen is being a hypocrite. He told Teddy (after the weeding) that Cristina "has to go back to the game". After that, he told Cristina to stop over thinking and to go back to work. He is judging Meredith but he never tried to understand the other half of the "twisted sisters".
Codsx400 Meredith isn't brave, she's stupid. The baby growing inside of her was more important than Derek's or her life. Owen is the one trying to be supportive to Cristina. Meredith is just waiting for her to "over" this
Leilani Martinez ah...NO! the baby needs a father and a mother. Derek was the love of her life. an unborn baby that is not yet born ...when it comes to a choice u always choose the mother to live! I would have done the exact same thing if the love of my life was about to die.
Leilani Martinez derek turned brain dead...nothing she could do there..and ofcourse she gave birth to their baby cause she never thought of killing a healty baby inside her. there was noone pointing a gun at that time ..i see ur point but it depends on the situation..she would rather have derek alive with baby ellis or not. maybe they got to have 3morekids. he died so :(
@@leilanimartinez8903 She only lost the baby because of stress. It would of happened even if she wouldnt of told him to shoot her. She wasnt injured to cause it. I think she wanted to save her husband no matter what. As harsh as it sounds theres only one derek...she could have another baby.
Meredith is a fearless person and that is a damn good thing. The gun was pointed to her, she VOLUNTEERED to be pointed a gun at just to save everyone else. I get that Cristina still needs time, but Owen had no business saying those words to Meredith.
tbh meredith did it more out of panic than bravery. I feel bad for her trauma but do u rly think the shooter would be shoot her and be like well okay shes dead time for me to head out
@@someone-ih3tu definitely not throughout the episode mer kept telling Christina what she needed. Derek was patient understanding and let Christina fully process everything away from both Owen and Mer
Umm no Meredith did help her or at least try to she heard her worries and helped her Christina if you remember blamed Meredith and Derek he yes he did help her but he should have been looking out for his wife as well
@@polinaivanushkina7996 Meredith never emotes properly so Derek knows asking her would result in nothing. Also Derek told Meredith they need to let Christina work it out before coming back and Meredith kept pushing. The fishing scene proves that Derek was right
wow its funny because meredith wanted to be shot not only to save derek but to save cristina and owen was getting pissed over it like she wasnt trying to save cristina
Both had a point and both didn’t understand eachothers point of views because mer only told the shooter to shoot her because she loved Derek and Owen saw that differently than she did. And Owen is trying to say give her space she’ll come back when she is ready doesn’t want to push her and she doesn’t heal like you do. Because mer and Cristina are different people and as much as Cristina and mer know eachother mer though she needed to grieve like she did and keep working. But they deal with trauma differently.
She is not reckless! She is brave. She always has been brave and strong from the beginning! Despite all the tragedies that happen at Seatle Grace. Meredith is the only one who quickly snaps out of it, and directly goes straight to help her friends and family to get over it! So no she isn't reckless. Own is just scared.
That’s reckless. There were WAY smarter solutions than what Meredith chose to do and a lot of the time what she’s saving people from are her own mistakes. Killing dereks trial, getting Zola taken, trying to force Cristina back too soon, when she was too impatient and tripped going down the stairs when she was pregnant etc. hell Owen wouldn’t have gotten shot if she just shut up and followed Jackson’s plan that still worked but almost didn’t because she doesn’t know when to shut up or take time to think. Merediths biggest problem is her recklessness
Brave? So it's brave to let yourself drown even though you can swim? It's brave to call off a relationship that you want just because you don't think it'll work, even though the relationship never had problems before? It's brave to stick your hand in a bomb even though you think you know that the bomb is about to blow up? Meredith is a coward and a quitter. Even her shrink knows that. She's reckless AF.
@@hussainmartins5985 you got to be kidding Meredith was suicidal at the time! Her mother was dying her bf had a wife her father left her The bomb that episode is called instincts maybe not the safest but the pacient would’ve died otherwise and the bomb would’ve went off possibly killing everyone in the room and maybe even the hospital bc of the oxygen like the room is over.... if u are talking bout end of season 3/4 with Derek she called it off bc of abandonment issues her father left her, her mother never wanted her, her bf chose someone else she has the right Sometimes there’s no time to think u just need instincts when it’s life or death. Bailey is the one who’s reckless
@@nataliew1666 that doesn't change a thing. She's still reckless. Her recklessness is a consequence of her personal issues (though you are correct that it's not her fault). Sorry but Meredith has done more reckless things that my first comment didn't mention. She screwed up the Alzheimer's trial and fucked up the hospital's approval from the FDA, she tried to run away with Zola against the decision of the adoption service and she told someone to shoot her with no guarantee that the shooter would accept her terms. Meredith may have her reason's but you can't say she ain't reckless, a coward or a quitter. Though you are right about Bailey. She's as reckless as they come 🙄.
@@hussainmartins5985 alright I agree with u about bailey and just want to mention that you did say all of those things before and I get that those times show her as reckless.... but I see them differently Alheizmers was out of loyalty towards Richard and she tried keeping him out of it. FDA was with the trial. Zola that I agree with you on pure reckless instincts. Shooting you mentioned already with Owen and also keep in mind that Derek was going to die as she just found out that morning that she was pregnant and then she had a miscarriage while operating on owen
He attempted to stop him. If mer got shot by him do you think the shooter would’ve just stopped? Mer was being hella reckless and has done it in the past her shrink even tells her she’s too reckless with her life and always has been.
lol owen was trying to stop the shooter as a former person in the military, meredith was standing there with her hands up waiting to be shot hoping that after she died the man with the gun would shrug his shoulders and go home satisfied. I think these situations are too different to be compared lol
The real irony is Owen cheating on Christina for not wanting to have kids and then cheating on his next girlfriend with Christina and telling her it’s because she wants a family😂
1:04 Tomorrow. Next week. Next month. Next year. And Cristina will BE.....................WHERE?!🤔🤨 Meredith Grey. Meredith spoke to Owen like a Mother about Cristina. Also she was concerned that if Cristina falls deeper in her shadow. Till years later she finally reformed and missed her chance. No doubt she will definitely not only take it out on Meredith.....so does others like Owen.
Idk what yall are talking about. What was Owen supposed to do? He tried to get her back in there, and she had a total meltdown. After that she did nothing. Forcing her back into the place that caused her trauma to begin with doesn't seem like it would help. Also he was right not to force her, let's not forget that. After the fishing trip, she finally healed.
Everything Owen said was true Christina and Meredith deal with trauma differently Meredith was able to go back to work and be fine Christina wasn’t Christina needed time to figure out how to get back to who she was But her way was different than Meredith and Meredith couldn’t understand that she expected Christina to be fine and go back to work that work will make Christina better but it didn’t it
Cristina is also in a difficult situation more so when Mer offered her life to the shooter. Mer is important to Cristina as Derek is to Mer so Cristina would have still tried to save Derek because of Mer and not anyone else. She was still trying to save Derek even if there is a gun pointed at her even before Owen came. She still had to save Derek even when Owen was already shot though she told Mer to save his man as well as she is saving hers. Though they understand each other (Mertina), they are still different people and had different ways of dealing with stresses/difficulties. They are both brave and strong in their own way. Cristina was not healed after the fishing trip cause she was still set to do something else but when their own experience with a gunman also happened to the students, that is when she had realized, she is a doctor/surgeon afterall so she had to help.
She supported her as much as she could knowing very well that tje timing was wrong for the wedding when she didn't even like owen in the first place. From a friend's point of view yes owen rushed her best friend into a decision she was no where ready to make
DD Nicole interfer?😂that’s crazy, Owen always pushes something into Cristina, she only said yes to his marriage proposal because she was in a traumatic experience, Owen used his personal agenda to punish Meredith at work, Meredith know Cristina yang better than Cristina own husband, he of all people should know that Cristina life is Surgery, surgery is her only true love and Cristina deserves better than Owen hunt
ik Mer and Cristina are close, but Owen sort of had a point here. Mer deals with things in her own way and Cristina needed to deal with things in a different way other than going to work it out... literally.
owen: “you told the guy with the gun to shoot you” (knowing full well she did it to try and save her husband) also owen: *ran back into the hospital knowing the shooter was still there, distracted the shooter from shooting cristina multiple times, walked into the or where the guy with the gun was standing, walked around during lockdown knowing there was a shooter* i could go on. and all but the last one were for the woman he loved. how is that any different than what mer did for derek? owen is just as reckless, if not more so, in protecting cristina, as mer is protecting derek. so what exactly is his problem? he’s such a goddamn hypocrite.
Owen served so what happened on the show was nothing compared to what he went through. He and Teddy have the most experience when it comes to Bombings and shootings. Are you forgetting he jumped in front of Meredith and got shot.
@@ehimenjuniorakhimien9133 that’s literally my point. he’s being a hypocrite. he had no right to get mad at her for offering herself to a shooter for the guy she loved when he did the exact same thing.
Owen's bringing up the situation with Gary Clark and throwing Meredith's reaction (which was brave and understandable) in her face was unfair. However, Meredith is also wrong. She couldn't forgive him his relationship with Christina, because she doesn't think he is good enough for her. She hated him for having feelings for Teddy, altough he couldn't control those feelings. The only thing he could do was keep his distance from her which he did. Yet, she used those feelings as a reason to attack him. And after Christina's stress reaction she kept pushing him and telling him that it was wrong of him to give Christina time and space, which she actually did need. She was complaining, yet she did not offer alternatives, she did not try to talk reasonably to him, she just took this as another excuse to bully him. She is not a bad person and I quite like her sometimes, but not this time.
Leilani Martinez Owen doesn’t know Cristina he pushed this marriage into while she was going through a traumatic experience, you think he knows what’s best for her if he decided the would be the perfect time to get married
The difference is that even if they do handle tragedies different Meredith knows that because she knows Christina. She knows that Christina is afraid but the point is that even when Christina is afraid she was a gifted surgeon and she loved being a surgeon. Owen didn’t understand that. He didn’t push Christina to be her best self like Meredith did because he rushed her. He doesn’t know Christina like he says he does
@@thundercookie1014 clearly not in this situation because meredith kept going on and on about how cristina needs to work but last time she tried she had a ptsd episode in the or. owen and derek were right that she needs time till she WANTS to go back
Both of them are right. People can't genuinely say that the other doesn't make sense or doesn't have a point. If they do, they need to examine their biases.
Owen is pissing me off and I love how when Owen said you told the guy with the gun to shoot you Meredith said what the hell does that mean like what Meredith said was so reallll
doesnt matter who knew her longer, meredith wants her to work when cristina clearly needs some time away before she is ready which derek and owen both understood
I back Meredith here. He doesn’t get to punish Meredith at work and compromise the quality of her education over a personal issue. She is an excellent surgeon. And her personal relationships don’t change that. He had no right to do that to her. Especially not at work.
I’m actually in Owens side when it comes to the decisions she makes. She IS very reckless and doesn’t weigh the consequences of her actions, or goes ahead in spite of the probability. In the real world that would have blown up in her face a long time ago. The only real consequence she had was going on trial for her license.
This is true her is always in a good place. But she bends the universe to her will regardless of who gets screwed over in the process... LVAD wire coverup, Derek's trial, being a surgeon for her stepmother, insurance fraud, Meghan Hunt surgery (first time around) without disclosing personal relationship to her fiance' and in the end the surgery she was told not to do and still disobeyed her bosses and did. There are consequences to one's actions in the real world.
After rewatching the show, you would realize that even though all three of them helped and cared about Christina in their own way at the time, Derek was in fact the one actually helped Christina out of the state the most. He didn't do it alone, of course. But he was the calm one that saw through her state and made the best judgement. He stood by when she was bartending but kept an eye on her; he made sure to keep an eye on her but kept a distance in the hospital; he took her to fishing and never pushed her once, but made the right call to took that photo of her crying. He was like a brother to Christina during this process. He was both the most capable person given his position compared to Mer and Owen, and the wise person who made right calls and acted maturely, patiently, and kindly towards Christina. She saved his life, and he presented his gratitude sincerely and effectively.
I agree with Owen 100%. Meredith was pregnant but still begging for the shooter to shoot her? She did not help the situation. While Owen tried to distract the shooter and get close enough to disarm him. Meredith has always been reckless with her life. Furthermore Meredith is acting like Cristina should not be afraid. Of course she is a afraid and she has a right to take the time she needs to heal. Using Meredith words against her from season 2 " you don't get to judge how I choose to repair what you broke"
But Meredith didn't break Cristina. It was the shooter, and the PTSD from the shooting as a whole. And what Meredith was thinking when she offered her life to the gunman was that she was going to save her husband's life, Cristinas life, Richard and Lexie and everyone else in the hospital including Owen. She loved them so much she would have died so they could all live.
This is yet another prime example of how Owen is a manipulative misogynist. He has no issues not only belittling the women around him but will use what ever tactic necessary to change a women to what he wants her to be for him. He did it with Christina and continues to do it the Amelia, and Teddy.
As much as everyone else doesn't like the Owen treats Meredith or Meredith treats Owen. I love the relationship they have. They both are trying to help Cristina. They are like a divorce couple and Cristina the kid and they r trying to figure out what's best for the kid, or just the sister with a man and other sister doesn't want man to mess with sister
and eventually he was RIGHT ....she already was in the OR and she hides under the table & Mer shouldn`t interfer in a marriage Christena didn`t interfer in hers
aya elsaman The PTSD scene was before this argument. Cristina did go see Meredith’s therapist so she would make Meredith decide not to kick her roommates for Derek’s sake. The difference between the two though is that Cristina’s interference didn’t appear like one because she directly spoke to Meredith, meanwhile it’s always been clear that Meredith didn’t find that Owen was good enough for Cristina. I clicked on that when she argued that it had been wrong for Owen to ask Cristina to marry him when she was all broken. This resulted in her aborting a baby because Owen thought that she would just get over not wanting a child .
Cristina was not in the state to get married or even think over a decision like that. From a friend's point of view he did rush her doesn't matter if he wanted to or not and how the hell can she like her friend's boyfriend when she witnessed his feelings for teddy on more than one ocassions
I think Meredith should have taken the hint that Christina was actively trying to avoid work and let her work out her issues on her own. However, I know she has Christina’s best interest in mind. I also think it wasn’t okay for Owen to call Meredith “reckless in a bad way”, but if I was Owen and someone got onto me for how I tried to care for my struggling spouse, I would be really angry too. I relate to Owen a lot more strongly than Meredith, but there are two sides to every story and this is no exception. I just see two people trying their best to help someone they care about.
agreed i think owen was right since meredith thought the solution was for cristina to come back and operate asap but owen understood that unlike meredith, cristina was still scared and needed to return to the hospital at her own pace. derek also understood this so I think merediths ego was hurt that she couldnt be the one who understood cristinas tragedy response.
I love Meredith and Cristina's friendship... They are each other's person.. But Owen is right here Cristina is not like Meredith, they both deal with Trauma differently, also Meredith believed only she can make Cristina better from her PTSD... She didn't trust anyone else... She had reasons...
I agree with them both. He didn't need to be petty in surgery but he is also right that Cristina is different and has the right to recover from a trauma the way she wants to. Everyone is different. Yeah her and Meredith are best friends but they are not going to react the same way. Whether she likes it or not, she's never going to know everything about her friend. They are not the same. Owen's right about that.
Okay its been a loong time since i watched season 7 so can someone tell me what did meredith do to prevent christina from falling apart? Because i honestly dont remember and it sounds bad how she blames owen for letting this happen. What did she do to prevent it?
nothing lol she wants cristina to hurry up and come back to work bc she thinks thats what would help. except last time cristina tried she had a ptsd episode in the OR so I think owen and derek understood her tragedy response better by not forcing her and letting her have time away
BRO LITERALLY if he knew her at all he would know that surgery IS IN FACT what christina would want! and to bring up the shooting day is crazy bc most people haven’t been pregnant while watching their husband lying on a table with a literal gun being pointed at the surgeons head
Owen: gives Cristina strength to make decisions of her own Fans: you're not taking care of her bad husband! Owen: expresses his opinions and desires Fans: entitled misogynistic pig! You don't have the right to tell her what to do! No matter what he does, y'all gonna hate him either way, pathetic.
They are jealous of the friendship Meredith and Christina have. Meredith wasn't thinking she was trying only way she knew to save her husband and her friend. Owen from day one of meeting Christina he was jealous of the bond those two women have. Some men cant handle that kind of friendship I know a few like him
I'm on both their side Meredith knows christina and yeah Maybe christina needs to work to get through but christina is changing. She's been through tramas with meredith and she needs time like owen said. It's up to christina if she wants to get back up after trama
You guys obviously didn't listen to the whole conversation there talking about how She has PTSD from when she almost got shot mardeth thinks she knows better because Christina is her friend mardeth is expecting her to get over it as fast as she did cause maredth has no fear in Christina's case she has fear and the sounds of the gunshots and the sight of people getting murderd have traumatized her and Owen just pointed out that not everybody is like her Christina is a whole different person from maredth her brain is wired different she thinks different she is different just like everybody else in the world and Owen pointed that out so next time make sure you pay attention next time
At first when I watched this scene years ago, I agreed with Meredith, but after having gone through PTSD and severe depression I can say that working through it is NOT the way to handle something like that. I too am high achieving, type A personality like Cristina, but I would definitely not appreciate being pushed to work, no matter how much I love it, should I be in one of those post-traumatic episodes. Most people are like Meredith and assume that just because people like me and Cristina like to work that working is the best way of coping.
Owen was annoyed at Mer because she told the gunman to shoot her, I think Owen knew how much it hurt to lose someone and didn't want Christina to have to feel that pa8n
I really hate Owen in this scene... Meredith is fearless in a good way... If she ask the shooter to shoot her it was because he wanted to save Derek's and Cristina's life, that is who she is, she'll give everything for the people she loves. I don't know why the hell all the people is throwing in her face, her husband was dying en the table with a bullet on his chest... Owen is mad at her because Cristina and Meredith had been always for each other, besides the fact that Meredith told Cristina about the conflict he had within choosing Teddy and Cristina... So Owen had no right in treating Meredith like that... Even though neither of them thought about how Cristina needed to get better on her own, when they only wanted to her coming back to work and clearly she wasn't ready
@@karlakrishnamelendezsagal6784 exactly she doesn’t know boundaries my favorite characters are Izzie, Miranda, MC dreamy , Hunt , Lexie and Yang . Yeah she doesn’t mind her business that’s not place to convince her not to marry someone she doesn’t have control if her own life
thank u idk why so many ppl are against him, merediths ego is just bruised here bc cristina is connecting better with her husband and able to work towards recovery through a method that meredith didnt come up with
Owen had no right to say what he did to her about what she did for her husband…Um yeah. Actually a lot of people who have done what they could have to bought time for their husband…Owen is just jealous that mer is a different kind of wife to her husband than Yang is. She is willing to put her husband first and want the same thing and a family…He doesn’t get that from his wife. And he doesn’t like her bc she also puts her friendship first when it comes to how he is between the whole teddy thing and tells on his lies. Dude lied to his wife about another woman…no good about that.
I really hate owen here, he just dont get it, first he asked mer for help to bring christina back (i think during that scene when christina throwing housewarming party) and then when mer cant help her, now owen is throwing mer out of the OR and i realise he do this multiple times whenever he is pissed at meredith which is stupid derek never even does this. And after that he blames mer because she is “reckless”??? The reason why mer even offered her life was because she dont want christina and derek got shot.. christina had a gun on hee head.. He is the one who jump in front of the bullet and got shot, he is the one who fails to help his wife..
What episode & season is this scene from Grey’s Anatomy because Owen was talking about Meredith telling the shooter to shoot her and it says on the title of this video is season 7 episode 10 and shooting happened in the episode called Sanctuary in Season 8!
Owen was right. Meredith expects everybody to handle life and trauma how she does but she needs to understand not everyone can do that. And she should’ve gotten that with Cristina. But quite frankly Derek is who helped her get back. He allowed her to process and go through her emotions and once she did she was back. Meredith truly needs to learn to stop trying to fix everybody else and fix herself cause she really is a little reckless with her life and emotions, bruh. 😅
I hate interfering Meredith. She may be her best friend. But its non of your business how your best friends husband takes care of his wife. you dont interfere in a marriage.
i dont like when meredith interfering she should stay out of it and understand that cristina is having a hard time and that owen is there trying to help her
Their whole back and forth is annoying and pointless when Derek was the one who helped Cristina more than Owen and Meredith did. Owen was slacking and Meredith was too pushy and annoying while Derek was more understanding and gave Cristina time to process things.
Meredith is not reckless she’s the most bravest person I know, and I hate how Owen doesn’t understand how Meredith is so close to Christina, it makes me so mad. But I love all of them so not hate what so ever.
I get where Meredith is coming from and just looking out for her best friend. Regardless, it isn’t her marriage and she should have stayed the fuck out.
well I mean I see the point, but the two people she loved most were about to die.. to her that was all that she could do.. Keep Derek alive, but make him suffer through the pain and make the shooter feel like he got the ultiment revenge.. Keep Cristina alive but make her live the pain.
If you really love someone, wouldn't you do anything for them? Owen would've done the same thing. Derek would've done it too. I mean, she just wanted to protect the one she loves, no? It's not like she wanted him to do it, or she waited for it to happened, it just happened, and she loves Derek & Cristina too much to just watch them die without doing anything. And didn't Owen enter the OR fully knowing there was a shooter inside, and asking him to focus on him just to save Cristina? He was being an hypocrite.
I hate how Owen doesn't get how close Christina & Meredith are and how they understand each other better than anyone else
but he was sort of right tho.
Wrong 90% of the time but right this time
owen was 100% right though
THIS!!!!!
I love Meredith in this scene for putting him in his place.
she was never suicidal.
@@rhys4489 You do not hate a fictional character, but I hate people who do not see further than their egocentric noses reach!
No, Owen did not see Christina as an equal with equal right to fulfill herself. He expected her to adapt much more than he was willing to do himself and the fact that she refused became a gigantic pimple on his ego!
Thank you!!!
I back meredith completely she knows Cristina better than Owen does but I get what Owen is saying at the same time
I strongly agree. Besides Burke, Owen, Teddy, Callie, Derek, Bailey, Alex. It's Meredith that can get to Cristina.
Owen was right
sometimes the person who 'knows you best' is wrong. In this case, Mer was wrong
Meredith and Owen remind me of a broken up marriage couple that wants what's best for there kid (Cristina)

Then the real dad (Owen) doesn’t know what he’s doing so then the moms (Meredith) new husband (derek) is being a better dad

Why is Cristina allowed to be vulnerable and not in her right mind but Owen can’t be? Lets stop infantalizing women please
Stratos Somarakis Meredith had Ellis and Derek is dead.

I feel bad for her trauma but do u rly think the shooter would be shoot her and be like well okay shes dead time for me to head out

wow its funny because meredith wanted to be shot not only to save derek but to save cristina and owen was getting pissed over it like she wasnt trying to save cristina

Sorry but Meredith has done more reckless things that my first comment didn't mention. She screwed up the Alzheimer's trial and fucked up the hospital's approval from the FDA, she tried to run away with Zola against the decision of the adoption service and she told someone to shoot her with no guarantee that the shooter would accept her terms.
Meredith may have her reason's but you can't say she ain't reckless, a coward or a quitter. Though you are right about Bailey. She's as reckless as they come 🙄.
@@hussainmartins5985 alright I agree with u about bailey and just want to mention that you did say all of those things before and I get that those times show her as reckless.... but I see them differently

Shooting you mentioned already with Owen and also keep in mind that Derek was going to die as she just found out that morning that she was pregnant and then she had a miscarriage while operating on owen
Owen keeps saying that Meredith is reckless for telling the person with the gun to shoot her but he's the one who attacked the man with the gun.

Tomorrow. Next week. Next month. Next year. And Cristina will BE.....................WHERE?!🤔🤨
Meredith Grey.
Everything Owen said was true Christina and Meredith deal with trauma differently Meredith was able to go back to work and be fine Christina wasn’t Christina needed time to figure out how to get back to who she was But her way was different than Meredith and Meredith couldn’t understand that she expected Christina to be fine and go back to work that work will make Christina better but it didn’t it
I love Meredith! I hate seeing so many negative comments about her.
Why can't they talk about it anywhere else? The staff had a work to do!
I think they are both right in their own way. Meredith does know Cristina really well but she shouldnt interfere in their relationship.
actingislife100 i kind of agree with you but her bestfriend is hurting so i think meredith should me medalling in that situation
I mean... their marriage was a mistake
Mer deals with things in her own way and Cristina needed to deal with things in a different way other than going to work it out... literally.
I somewhat agree but he had NO RIGHT to say she was wreckless...that’s a pile of topics someone should NEVER TOUCH
owen: “you told the guy with the gun to shoot you” (knowing full well she did it to try and save her husband)
also owen: *ran back into the hospital knowing the shooter was still there, distracted the shooter from shooting cristina multiple times, walked into the or where the guy with the gun was standing, walked around during lockdown knowing there was a shooter* i could go on.
and all but the last one were for the woman he loved. how is that any different than what mer did for derek? owen is just as reckless, if not more so, in protecting cristina, as mer is protecting derek. so what exactly is his problem? he’s such a goddamn hypocrite.

Because he knew what he was doing unlike her
Owen's bringing up the situation with Gary Clark and throwing Meredith's reaction (which was brave and understandable) in her face was unfair.
Owen's right. Meredith ad Cristina may have a lot in common, but the way they handle tragedies are completely different.
Leilani Martinez and Owen doesn’t know how to handle Cristina but Meredith does
Leilani Martinez Owen doesn’t know Cristina he pushed this marriage into while she was going through a traumatic experience, you think he knows what’s best for her if he decided the would be the perfect time to get married
He doesn’t know Christina like he says he does
Funny how Derek was the one to help and understand her.
Meredith is right here. She has known Christina for longer than Owen and what he’s saying is rude.
doesnt matter who knew her longer, meredith wants her to work when cristina clearly needs some time away before she is ready which derek and owen both understood
I back Meredith here. He doesn’t get to punish Meredith at work and compromise the quality of her education over a personal issue. She is an excellent surgeon. And her personal relationships don’t change that. He had no right to do that to her. Especially not at work.
Funny how the writing on this show favors Owen so much, but in the end most of us hate him anyway
Yes she know Christina better than Owen !!!!!!!
I’m gonna side with Owen on this one
I know Meredith is cristinas friend but she needs to keep her nose out of Cristina and Owens marrige
They are like a divorce couple and Cristina the kid and they r trying to figure out what's best for the kid, or just the sister with a man and other sister doesn't want man to mess with sister
and eventually he was RIGHT ....she already was in the OR and she hides under the table
& Mer shouldn`t interfer in a marriage
Christena didn`t interfer in hers
aya elsaman yes she did she
aya elsaman The PTSD scene was before this argument.
I disagree because in the end she got back into the game during the shooting at the school when she was at the scene...
I just see two people trying their best to help someone they care about.
agreed i think owen was right since meredith thought the solution was for cristina to come back and operate asap but owen understood that unlike meredith, cristina was still scared and needed to return to the hospital at her own pace. derek also understood this so I think merediths ego was hurt that she couldnt be the one who understood cristinas tragedy response.
they way he thinks that he has a say in who gets to be around cristina

Meredith 100% true all the way!!! U go sister!
What season and episode is this
At first when I watched this scene years ago, I agreed with Meredith, but after having gone through PTSD and severe depression I can say that working through it is NOT the way to handle something like that.
I miss those scenes and that script given to Ellen.
Owen is such a punk, seeing him get yelled at by Derek was so satisfying

And he doesn’t like her bc she also puts her friendship first when it comes to how he is between the whole teddy thing and tells on his lies. Dude lied to his wife about another woman…no good about that.
everytime meredith disagrees with owen about christina he takes it out on her via surgery
Ok Owen is right but Meredith wasn’t reckless she was brave and that’s it
She told him to shoot her to save HIS WIFE and Derek! I do actually like Owen but him during his marriage to Cristina was truly indefensible.
But its non of your business how your best friends husband takes care of his wife. you dont interfere in a marriage.
italoluder and look at how well that marriage turned out
i dont like when meredith interfering she should stay out of it and understand that cristina is having a hard time and that owen is there trying to help her
he's right
Their whole back and forth is annoying and pointless when Derek was the one who helped Cristina more than Owen and Meredith did.
100000000% agree with Owen
Let's just be real Meredith wanted christina single. She'd have her soul mate and love of her life to herself.
I like all Grey's characters except for Owen. All I can see when I see him is his ego. He always wants to be in control.
and that's why Christina left you
The good old day....... demmmit..!!!!!!
I hated owen for a long time.... And however good he is now...is not just enough
That blood gonna dry
I cannot be the only one thinking that their marriage was a horrible idea..
No because mer saved his life while having a miscarriage and he isn't even thankful
what does that have to do with this lol
I get where Meredith is coming from and just looking out for her best friend. Regardless, it isn’t her marriage and she should have stayed the fuck out.
OWEN IS RIGHT!!!
she told a murderer to shoot her!? Who does that?!
She is wreckless. +_+
well I mean I see the point, but the two people she loved most were about to die.. to her that was all that she could do.. Keep Derek alive, but make him suffer through the pain and make the shooter feel like he got the ultiment revenge.. Keep Cristina alive but make her live the pain.
Owen can’t even talk he charged the shooter, that was more reckless than what Meredith
He was being an hypocrite.
she didn’t just tell a murderer to shoot her. the 2 people she lived most were about to die so she did what she thought was best.
@@lifeofmemori lol dude ok. I don't care. The comment was from 7 years ago. Who even watches Grey's anatomy nowadays?
I despise Owen.
owen was right here
