This is why Alex is my favorite character. Bailey is like the mother he never had, and he treats her like it. Sure she was rough on him and rest of the crew, but it was because she truly cared about each and every one of them, and wanted them to become amazing surgeons. When Bailey scolds him at 2:48 he doesn't retort back at all, when normally he would fire back at anyone chastising him. For all of the times Bailey has called him an idiot, pariah, stupid or whatever, he never got angry, never laid a hand on her, never said a word to her, because he knew it was only when he really messed up.
This is why I loved her she was tough on them and for good reason she also was like a mother, those were her ducklings and she did one hell of a job teaching them to swim especially Alex he went from evil spawn to literally one of the best characters on the show. Bailey may have been a lil mean in the beginning but, I respect it she made sure they could handle anything even when they messed up she was a fierce mother duck for her ducklings sometimes when when they didn’t deserve it.
I love the part when Bailey was in the elevator going home when she was pregnant “I maybe are 47 months pregnant, I may not be able to see my feet. But I am doctor Bailey!” I just love her!! She is so amazing!!!

I mean she lost so many of her original “kids” and patients over the years, that takes a toll on this character. Also, also, her husband works in fire and he’s not around the hospital right around the corner. That’s worry, and her son is so much older now, and he’s at school. Her familial loved ones are in the distance, while she’s in charge of an entire hospital. Her energy isn’t about raising individual attending, but making sure ENTIRE hospital is running. That’s keeping doctors in check, lawsuits, conflicts with the board, etc. etc. Her “nazi” energy is being placed whenever she has to fight back against anyone who messes with her hospital, rather than just attending.

She lost her “nazi”-ness, when she became chief, yes, but I believed she gained a lot more. I mean she lost so many of her original “kids” and patients over the years, that takes a toll on this character. Also, also, her husband works in fire and he’s not around the hospital right around the corner. That’s worry, and her son is so much older now, and he’s at school. Her familial loved ones are in the distance, while she’s in charge of an entire hospital. Her energy isn’t about raising individual attending, but making sure ENTIRE hospital is running. That’s keeping doctors in check, lawsuits, conflicts with the board, etc. etc. Her “nazi” energy is being placed whenever she has to fight back against anyone who messes with her hospital, rather than just attending.

I like how even though she obviously gets annoyed at them and acts like she doesn't give a shit about them, she really does care about the MAGIC team
