Nice interview. I was lucky enough to work with Lee on an album in 1985 (Battle of Armagideon) I played Bass & was a member of The Upsetters. Such an Honour.

I also argued with people in Berkeley who say he is too mad, too dark or scary... They jist like techno or dubstep... I abandon them to enjoy real music. Cloak and Dagger was my main record for 2 years, we used to play it at 45rpm and 18rpm on the old players.

I feel like this guy should have studied more of Perry's interviews/speeches/rants in order to overstand Lee's genius. Lee's literally answering all his questions on point. Some answers Lee doesn't answer directly for a reason
People think he made no sense but truth is if you listen and catch and get past when he's joking and overstand the messages and have some knowledge of subjects he's talking about he actually makes perfect sense and is funny af at the same time. He literally told with some of these interviewers, he's always a level above.
The rastafari question for example, he asked Lee if he distanced himself from rastafari, obviously referring to the dark period in Lee's life right before and years after he burned down the black ark. But Lee's always talked about the evil Dreads who were fake rastas and how they used him and drained him economically and spiritually and took his kindness for weakness since the black ark was open to all. He distanced himself from those poser evil dreads not rastafari.
Lee answered with a simple sentence about fake dreads not rastafari and I don't think this fellow understood
