- Given all the recent killing in the legend of korra, I felt this video was totally necessary. They killed off like what? 3 characters in a 2 episode span? I'm surprised they kept zaheer alive.
Ghazan literally killed himself for no reason. Mako and Bolin didn't even get hurt.
He wasnt thinkin straight he just lost a girl he likes
Quinton Damiano he just rather die than go back to prison. he saw that they were about to lose. he gave up fighting.

@@dionemoolman Hahahahahahahah nice joke Hahahahaha
@@dionemoolman I don't think they have the death penalty in the Avatar world. In book 4, Zaheer was imprisoned again, even though he tried to kill Korra in the Avatar state, ending the Avatar cycle forever if he had succeded. Why would they sentence Ghazan to death, but not Zaheer, who not only started the whole operation by escaping from his prison after harmonic convergence and freeing the other Red Lotus members, but was also in charge of it? Not to mention him being a much greater threat than he ever was before, with him being an airbender now and having unlocked an insanely rare and advanced airbending technique and all.
That, and the realization upon seeing Mako that Ming Hua (whom he liked) was dead made him decide that death was much better.

"When I said 'Kill this bitch', I didn't mean Airbend the oxygen out of her lungs!" - JuanIsABeastReacts.
Matt Brown JUSTICE. FOR BOSCO!
Let's face it, Zaheer did the world a favor when he kill the earth queen
hot take: zaheer was right until he decided to try and kill the airbenders + korra. it was such a weird jump in logic for his anarchist ideology, which seeks to dismantle unjust hierarchies like the earth monarchy (and later, dictatorships like kuvira's). the airbenders are a vulnerable people with no national power, let alone imperial power, they're traditionally NOMADS. the avatar does have much more power than the average single person, but so do the red lotus members with their superhuman bending skills. bryke created an anarchist antagonist, realized he actually had too much of a point, and reduced him to "let's just murder anyone hurrdurr chaos"
@@dottysdokis i'm aware. i'm just saying the only kudos i can give to Zaheer was killing the earth queen. o3o the rest was that he twisted his own ideals, his cause, everything. he's gone just as crazy as Amon and Unalaq
Didn't it just create a power vacuum for Kuivira lol
The Meme Inspector yup but when korra told him about kuvira being a dictator he seemed to regret his actions. But thats his own fault. He kept preaching about the chaos which he presumed to be the people of the earth kingdom revolting against the monarchy, not thinking that the actual chaos would be someone as bad as the earth queen taking over and the people are once more oppressed
@@dottysdokis i like to think that killing the airbenders and Korra was not a part Zaheer’s original plan nor his ideology. Instead, in the midst of kidnapping Korra again, and even failing to do so(in Zaofu), something shifted in him. It was kind of like his pride/ego got mixed up, making him stray away from his ideologies.
Hua's is just so fucking merciless because Mako doesn't even hesitate to fucking execute her and her reaction is so beyond what Nick should've been okay with.
Zuko: I understood that hurting others is wrong
Mako: *Zap Zap bitch*
It wasn’t a coldblooded execution, it was survival.
Mako’s survival instincts told him, “look, either you do something or she’ll turn you into sushi”.
And Mako did what he did in order to survive.
@@eoncatalyst Exactly, and Mako is not a fan of extreme pacifism like Tenzin, he simply does what is necessary, and as a rule, as you said, he was in a Kill or Be Killed situation, it was impossible to end up any other way.
The amount of on screen deaths is one reason why it should never be compared to atla, it's just too different, but I love that difference
In the ATLA season 1 finale, Zhao kills the Moon Spirit in its mortal form (a white koi) on-screen with a blast of firebending, which in turn, leads to the on-screen death of the barely 16-year-old Princess Yue as she gives up her life in order to resurrect the Moon Spirit; and, after the Ocean Spirit merges with Aang, we get to see them wipe Zhao'a forces and drive what's left of his fleet away and heavily damaged, and the Ocean Spirit drag Zhao underwater (granted, LOK episode "Darkness Falls" reveals that instead of drowning Zhao, the Ocean Spirit took hin to the Spirit World to wander the Fog of Lost Souls for eternity, but 8 years had passed in real life by the time that revelation was made).
In ATLA season 2 episode 5 "Avatar Day", a flashback shows Chin the Conqueror killing an emissary by earthbending an earth column beneath the latter, as well as Chin himself falling to his death when his overconfidence in facing Avatar Kyoshi by himself and unwillingness to back down following defeat leads him to refuse to take a few steps back even as the ground on which he stands begins to crumble after Kyoshi avoids a battle and manages keep her people safe from Chin's attempted invasion by splitting their peninsula from the mainland.
In ATLA season 2 episode 10 "The Library", Professor Zei refuses to exit the fabled library he has been searching almost his whole life for, even as it sinks beneath the sand; instead, he chooses to be buried with the knowledge he loves.
In ATLA season 2 episode 17 "Lake Laogai", Long Feng strikes Jet (a teenager) with an uplifted rock, causing Jet severe internal injuries that even Katara could not heal, and though Jet tells Katara that he'll be all right, as the group leaves, Toph (who is revealed earlier that same episode to have the ability to detect lies) sadly says "He's lying" and Jet's friend Smellerbee kneels next to Jet and begins weeping over him.
In ATLA season 3 episode 6 "The Avatar and the Fire Lord", a flashback that spans almost the entire episode and shows us most of Avatar Roku's life story ends with him dying from a torrent of volcanic ash after being betrayed and left for dead by his lifelong best friend.
And in ATLA season 3 episode 12 "The Western Air Temple", Combustion Man inadvertently causes his own death by unintentionally unleashing a massive point-blank explosion that also destroys the surrounding area, after which we see his prosthetic arm fall into the misty abyss.
So ATLA was not all that shy of depicting death, either. 😉
@@justmichael651 combustion man death was creepy
@@aledeplenos1457 Yes. Yes it was. 😅
@@justmichael651 while ATLA hinted at death, LOK had no problem actually showing it. The scariest part about ATLA was when Monk Gyatso's body was found and Aang was electrocuted. Meanwhile, LOK showed Ming-Hua being electrocuted (without any sound effect music), the Earth Queen's corneas getting smaller out of lack of oxygen and panick, and Korra being tied up and tortured with mercury in her body
I like how the Red Lotus died in the reverse order they were freed.

@@tince5431 he freed himself first then got re-incarcerated (not to mention also being the last one) .
Sorta follows the same order still, just, y'know, less death. He did get socked though so that covers it
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that pattern
I always thought P'li had the most horrifying death. Like her head got literally exploded. I don't think much could've been left of it. Imagine the aftermath and her laying there dead with either the piece of armor rolled to the side if there was nothing left to hang onto or it loosely covering what remained of her head with smoke coming out and pieces of burnt flesh stuck to it.
Depending on how strong the explosion was, the rest of her body might have been lying in pieces too since the only outlet for the explosion in the armour was the neck entrance. It might have shredded the body and all what’s left would be a bunch of burning bloody fleshy mess.
With how big her explosions are and how small the space was contained, I'd say her head would've been almost vapourised with heat and pressure, and her body would not have been preserved since it was the only spot the energy could escape. But I'm kind of glad they left that for us to speculate rather than showing any of it, because there is no way that Nickelodeon could've shown any more than they did without toning down all of the impact. And the whole point of why that was such a powerful move is that it exacts the damage she inflicts on others repeatedly back onto herself before she could think it through
Basically, they definitely would not want that armour plate back after both the impact it withstood, and how...messy it would be.
That was a brutal socking.

I really hate that mako easily executed lightning bending against that water girl while asula iron and ozi takes like 4 seconds to cast it.
patrick susulin well he learned it at a young age.
This is 70 years later. The knowledge of how to produce lightning could easily become widespread in that span of time. We also see more metalbenders and bloodbenders.
Back in The Last Airbender Lightning bending was a rare and extremely dangerous skill, but like Metalbending, in the years since it has become commonplace. As demonstrated by factory workers casually powering generators with lightning in Book 1.
Special techniques became more widespread understood given technological advances for rapid communication and mass production of teachings. The result was that many more firebenders can lightning bend, HOWEVER, the 4 second channeling time it took for Azula Iroh and Ozai produced MUCH more powerful lightning due to the necessity for spiritual balance and deeper understanding, as direct hits in LOK tend to stun, while a direct hit in ATLA were lethal, such as when Aang was struck by Azula, but when Mako struck Amon, he was merely stunned.
Lightning bending evolved and was perfected just like metal bending. Remember toph couldnt bend metal unless she was touching it? Now they can lift metal up into the air, bend it and mold it without touching it.

when u are about to release your combustion power and then someone trapped your head with steel, then... your head will explode inside that steel. even that girl didnt hurt because that explotion, then.. she will run out of air.. dammit. so dark for kids show
It’s funny how in AtLA, they brought up the morality of taking a life as a HUGE point in the finale, yet in Korra they don’t even hesitate to kill off villains.
For some reason the "ded" actually makes it funnier than it really is
When Zahir takes the oxygen out of the queens lungs she could of just breathed in some more air
No Zaheer created a small vacuum around her head preventing her from breathing in.
Bc it’s that easy right
The damage in your brain is huge
She would not survive either way
@@wendyty8307 I was joking
But still
Just a show for kids!
PotatoGhoul Actually, Season 3&4 weren't aired on TV. But 1&2 were as for they weren't as brutal. And LOK is more of a teens show.
PotatoGhoul avatar show was for teens and young adults, plus it not a cartoon its animated series lol
I think LOK is a teen show.
Yung Terror its a kids show get over it
@@ss__6379 actually in my country it aired on tv
And the most hated villains remain alive, baby.

Being socked is a fate far worse than death
0:19 her scream sounds like a witch and her oof sounds bootiful.
@Maxine Myburgh She's actually voiced by Azula.
She shares the same actress as Azula
Voice actress not actress
@@soundwave9036 A voice actress is still an actress.
Ok
The music during the Earth Queens death tho. 😂
Ding Dong the witch is deeeeeeaad
P’li’s death was some serious Mortal Kombat shit
Can't belive this was actually a kids family show, nicklodeon really stepped up their game with LOK
I say the trade off is a Horrible protagonist and questionable writing. But its step in the right direction.... and then they went back to stupid brainless content.
1:00 Earth queens death is so brutal, i just laughed because of the music..
1:20 I fucking knew you'd put *socked* after Bolin put it in his mouth
Socked Zaheer was priceless
