Also, the guy who played the Black Ranger had the opportunity to play the role of the Blue Ranger but turned it down. He didn't want to play the nerd. The original Yellow Ranger was a Latina. She got fired for unreasonable demands so she got replaced. Her replacement happened to be Asian. It wasn't like they purposely hired an Asian to play the Yellow Ranger. People see an Asian person and Yellow Ranger or a Black person and Black Ranger and immediately cry racism. Its unfortunate anyone can fabricate racism in anything as long as they ignore the context. If something has nothing to do with racism or sexism people will find a way to make it about racism or sexism. This is the world we live in. It is sad.
I know all this and just find it hilarious that it worked out that way. I mean honestly who wouldn't choose the black ranger over the blue? Hell black has always been iconic as being awesome and it goes with almost anything. The whole thing just kinda screams fate in the end. Its not that we try to make things seem one way but rather they coincided with common racism or sexism things we all know. If it had been 1 of them it woulda been fine, but having all of the rangers fit so well just made it too good to not point out. It could only have been better if the red ranger was native american but even then the red is the leader so having a white guy lead actually works in its own right. Its not that it's racist or sexist, its that it's funny how bad it looks in the context. Taken out of said context and looked at a certain way its soooo questionable and will always be as such.
Actually, the whole thing with the Megazord's Power Sword being able to reflect kinetic energy wasn't explained at all during the post-battle analysis. However, what I believe happened was that during that first sword clash, the Power Sword did redirect the energy, but because of how durable Voltron was, it just didn't care and took no damage from that because even with the Megazord's strength and Voltron's strength combined together, it just couldn't get past Voltron's ridiculous durability, because Voltron was more durable than he was strong, and yet was still approx. 5.5x stronger than the Megazord. So while it wasn't explained by Wiz and Boomstick, I'm pretty sure that's what happened.
power rangers wasn't racist...what are you talking about...if anything it was very ethnically and personality balanced...that was what people liked about it: Red: leader, caucasian, tough guy, brave, best at martial arts Black: cool dude, african american, laid back, good at martial art Blue: nerd/ geek, caucasian, lacks confidence, really smart, least skilled fighter Yellow: athletic, asian, spiritual, good with martial art Pink: stereotype girl, caring, caucasian, athletic/ gymnastic, good at martial arts
The working theory about the sword clash is that their sword's respective abilities simply cancelled each other out, resulting in a mutual 'no sell'...with that off the table, Voltron's massive advantages in speed, mobility, and ranged attacks carried the day....
The reason they formed the Megazord and Voltron right away is because they spent most of the budget on the fight between them. If they added a fight against the individual Zords and Lions then the fight would be a lot more clunky
No it wouldn't. I don't think the fight would have ended differently if all zords, from every series, at the same time fought just one lion. That's how lopsided this was.

The actors of Trini and Zack didn't mind their casting. Zack's actor wanted to be the Black Ranger because he thought that outfit was the coolest.
He was right. Black privilege right there.

Ron2Millionare wasn’t Trini a coincidence though?
I’m pretty sure Keith was voiced by Matpat in this, too, which is cool
Well I did look at the new voltron and everything it can do and it would crush the megazord easy look at it yourself if you want

Power rangers: We’ve defended the earth and saved millions of life’s!
Voltron: Hold ma beer
Everybody gets 1
Voltron:"Hold my flaming sword"
Tbf SPD is a galactic federation. Then there’s Drakkon, who’s travelling to different timelines lol
Ive been watching the reaction fight for this. It surprises me how many people rooted for the Megazord
bowlofarthritus Yeah
Funny the racism in power rangers was completely unintentional.

Unintentional racism. Damn, so annoying. Seriously, you overreacted.
there is a reboot on netflix of voltron is super good. the same people in charge of Legend of Korra are in charge of it.
Wait, they are? Ima go watch the hell out of that then.
Merilirem has two seasons
bara satan The only reason i watched it is so that i can become a fan of Voltron and feel less pain from the power rangers losing
@@BARALover96 oof im in the future :) I have 8 seasons
I only just realized that "backhand someone into orbit" comment was a movie reference.
Really? What movie?
@@legoking6165 The Power Rangers movie that was released around the time that the PR-Voltron fight was.

Good to know. Thank you.
I voted for Voltron =D
Me too
YOU DO REALIZE THAT MAT PAT IS VOICING IN THIS DEATH BATTLE!!!!!!!!!

Does nobody even notice that Hunk's pilot uniform also matches his lion's colors?
Rashaan Butler he’s orange
I Gotta say the fight was so good I didn’t even mind that my pick lost
The intentional racism was unessesary but the part were josh was laughing was funny
My vote was on Voltron, but I wanted the power rangers to win
Someone's been reporting your videos guys.
Death battle videos to be exact. I think you should look into it.
Voltron rips through planets and takes planet busters to the face. This is like a puppy against Superman.
(At 11:22) not really.
17:48 did he say Ultron
Omg he did 😂
Reposting not reporting.
Fucking autocorrect

I mean really, that battle would have ended with the lions ripping the zords apart like tin foil.
The blazing sword just drained the power sword
Right?
First comment and like have not seen vid going power ranger for life
Welcome to the mechanical safari XD
I wanted Power Rangers to win
i want to point out that this is based on a Japanese show Super Sentai which had asian actors for all the yellow rangers
In the original series the planet arus was in ruins so they had to use what was available
U know it’s light when the captions call Voltron old truck
Sweet. Happy 2019 guys!
