tbf you don't really need to be a Premier League level footballer to achieve most those targets. I used to play football myself semi pro level and below and most players would be able to pass most these tests, except the VO2 Max probably
I was a local football player and believe me even at lower level the fitness test is really tough because when the coach are watching at you, it gives extra pressure
The worst thing about the bleep test is that if you're trying, and unless you can comfortably complete the whole thing like a freak, you're always going to feel dead after it. Whether you're overweight and tapping out at 5 or an athlete and hitting 15, you're always going to feel shit at the end. In conclusion, fuck the bleep test.
Really good job. Although you didn’t pass a lot of them you did much better than the vast majority of people can and it was really inspiring to see you get so close because although you might not have beat a lot of them, you still were very close to the scores of professional players known world wide. Good job.
6:19 he says it’s 0.2s but it’s actually 0.02s difference, I thought someone else would’ve pointed it out by now but it really annoyed me so I had to put it in the comments :)
I think it goes without saying but each of these is the mark of the top 1% of athletes. Kieran getting close with no training is very impressive, and if you can’t do any of these, you’re in the boat with most of us. I train my body every day for over an hour and find most of these to be quite difficult.
Just a tip, for the t test you’re supposed to touch every come every time you pass it and you are supposed to shuffle sideways rather than run forward and at the end you are supposed to run backwards rather than turn 180° and run forward. But good video
We got to consider that he did all these tests in just one single day, one after the other. Premier Leaugue players do one these test at least once a month. Great video, Kieran.
Cool video, love the idea. But the 'static jump test' was actually a countermovement jump, not a static jump, and the bleep test bugged me because of the amount of times you turned and continued without the beep... but other than that, loved it. (I'm a sport student, don't @ me)
@@omar94khan the countermovement jump is what he did, which consists of starting in an upright position, bending the knees and jumping in one fluid motion with hands on the hips, whereas the static jump is the same but starting in a half-squat and holding it for 1-2 seconds before jumping, with hands on hips. The static jump provides raw power from the legs but countermovement jump adds extra momentum so isn't quite as accurate at calculating true power
Whilest it's a bit on the high end I think it's easier than plank for 2 minutes lol.. It's much more natural to have arm muscles developed (than abs and lower back)
Track athletes train their entire life for that. Bolt's football career summed it up that being fit doesn't necessarily mean that he could play football

@@jm-je4tl So there is a distance of 20m - in the video from one cone to the other - and you have to run from one end to the other before the beep. There are 10 beeps per level and it gradually gets faster and faster. Level 1 is pretty much a fast walk. Level 2 is a gentle jog. Levels 3-5 is where it starts to become like exercise and this is where most of the fat kids in our school would bow out in shame. Levels 6-8 is normally when you start to feel fatigued and this was about the school average. At this point you’ve heard the beep 80 times and the horrible, emotionless voice on the tape booms around the school hall telling you for the 8th time that it’s a new level. Levels 8-10 was where the majority of kids that played football/rugby would have to stop as you’re now having to sprint to the other end and your legs are basically jelly after all the bullshit from levels 1-8. Level 10-12 was only achieved by a few and they were mostly long-distance runners.
