Just beautiful. Wonderful concept. Catering to non ‘sporty’ cyclists is the best way to get more people cycling increasing safety in numbers. Keep up the wonderful good work!
This is a brilliant video, thank you! I love dutch bikes, I have many many happy memories of riding around Apeldoorn on my Oma's fiets in the holidays.
For an alternative, buy a real Dutch bike by googling Gazelle in Gypsy Hill, or go to Batavus in Brighton, best buy is a £250 Raliegh girl's bike in the largest frame, whether you're male or female. All the parts are standard, it comes with a basket, and you can fix it yourself and the frame is much lighter than this so you can do gentle hills. The front wheel isn't weird and you don't have to synchronize the pedal brakes with the single front brake. You have 2 simple levers on the handlebar.
@sunnyjoe66 Cyclists not only don't need that many capital letters, they don't need infrastructure either. Cycling in the Netherlands is safe in spite of the cycle lanes, not because of them.
not recommended, I just disposed of a big red one.The parts are much lighter,'tinnier' than an amsterdam bike, the turning circle is too wide for cramped London conditions,it is fitted with non-standard parts-the spokes can't be tightened with an international Park Tools three way spoke tightener, the bike wasn't solidly tightened throughtout, the tube is diffiult to keep in the tyre during a puncture repair, the back wheel is a total nightmare to take off and put back. Most bike shops won't touch.
Would the Numties of Motorists in Britain allow you to Cycle like that in Two's and away from the Path without Blowing you out with their Horns and Shouting Abuse at you and perhaps firing a Bottle at you as well. The Motorists need Education and Bicycle Training to Respect other Road users, also Cyclists need Infrastructure like the Netherlands. Beautiful Bikes and the Shop looks great.
